At first I liked this new modern mom, who isn't like the typical korean mom, is like a friend to her daughter, is upbeat and chill and fun to be with. She even laments about her lack of love life with her and is so badass at times. But after the return of the father, she put me off big time, I get she has a life too and Jin Hee can't be the center of her universe, but being so insensitive about this issue, when Jin Hee clearly needs some time and space, she should've mellowed down, be there like a mother for Jin Hee. Why is she behaving like a hormonal teenager!
fantastic last epi! did not disappoint. The green light scenes were soo scary! San Yeong's sudden outbursts and amazing acting was maintained till the end. I'm very satisfied with the ending. A small quip tho, the scene where Hyangi stabs HS, it wasn't such a fatal hit and stab that he just couldn't get up after that. I mean she is not that physically stronger than him to hit him in such a way that he can not get up after that. Overall it was great! Satisfying closure to all characters.
I didn't understand how Hyangi became the ghost tho, she witnessed Mok dan's death when the shaman said you're the ghost now after killing MD. so did mokdan's spirit latch onto Hyangi, she also screams like she is being possessed so idk what happens there. and when later the shaman comes back to kill Hyangi, what happens there. Although it looked like Hyangi was not the one stabbed but MD's body lying beside her was being stabbed by the rxn of Hyangi under the cloak, after being stabbed she grabs hold of the broken jade piece and faints. And what about the scene in the past where HS's grandparents come to visit the killed child inside the shed. They showed smthg like that before.
That would be an interesting twist, but I can't really see it happen. Would be weird to have another long flashback…
Obviously it can't happen now, coz we saw the ghost face in the last back hug scene. I was just going off a tangent here lol. Continuing on my theory, I thought nobody would've known about the switched identity even the evil grandma. Would've made it all even more complex haha, but with breadcrumbs towards Sooryeong character's identity and all. Their's is good too ig.
Shim Dal Gi has a unique beauty that even w/o knowing her name I knew it was the shadow beauty actress. Just 1 episode but her screen presence and acting is amazing!
Todays epi was good. anxiously waiting for the finale! I was thinking of a slightly different trajectory after the sooryeong track, so humor me for a while. What if Hyangi was also not the real name of the ghost, instead after failing on 1st ritual using mokdan, they then capture Hyangi and try again, but coz she is shown to be envious of Sooryeong's life, she somehow exchanges herself w/ her and instead it's Sooryeong' that gets killed. I thought this coz Sooryeong was the original artist of those moon drawings, so it could've made sense if ghost is Sooryeong as the ghost also draws those moon drawings. Later to maintain her identity switch, Hyangi could've continued those moon drawings to keep up her act. well, their direction is also good. Let's see how they wrap it up.
WHOA!!! That water scene, I screamed when she screamed, it was so fucking scary. Pretty sure Hae Sang's soul left his body right there. I almost thought her face morphed into a demon when she looked down, it was spectacular. On a side note, although SY's mom annoyed the hell outta me for never coorporating with the investigation but she doesn't deserve to die. Was SY actually possed in the scene w the grandma or was she acting like that to get the name outta her? coz it seems like HS and HS were in on it. so it's Hyangi, but the way she called her seems like she was close to her. Probably her own younger sister, a second born?
so no school or reply series in a highschool kdrama quiz!? as much as I love our beloved summer and Kim Bok Joo they are not set in high school, so its unfair on others. also you literally excluded one of best high school dramas.

Now that I think about it, this is also probably why I can't digest this drama. coz the drama scriptwise is pretty much all sharp edges all around(her being so obssessed from the beginning, coming so strongly onto him and him being dismissive of her and sulking and all) the actors needed to exude softness through their facial expressions and acting, and sorry to say but both of their facial expressions in scenes w each other have been pretty bland, I just can't feel them as a couple. Another cause can be that some ppl look older/younger than their real age. Imo SHS looks older than her age, atleast older than ABY. and ABY looks younger than his age in life. thats why she fit well w her mr queen co actor, the couple fit together, also mr.queen didnt have much emo scenes. KTR looks younger than her age, and can emote expressively quite well, but considering male lead and the flawed script idk how much diff it would be than now.
WOOW! Soo Young has really worked on her character here, from her hairstyle, wardrobe, and mannerisms to her gait! Everything sets this role apart from her previous roles. I love to see an actor who imbibes the essence of a character so well and delivers it naturally. If this drama also performs well plot-wise, it might be a turning point for her acting career.
I had liked that the drama followed the webtoon quite faithfylly. But now I think i like the webtoon version faaaar…
I'm so done with childhood connection tropes in kdramas fr!!!! That's the only trope I can't handle, who tf meets their lover in a strange coincidence in childhood. The chances of that happening in reality is 0.001% compared to the 90% dramas it's shown in!
