I'm in my lowest of low lately and this drama found me. It's the type of drama that also heals the viewers with them while watching. The storyline is not full of twists, but this made this drama unique than the others. And I believe, this drama will find its way to your hearts when you needed them.

That's all I can say about the storyline, full of lessons and just about life. Some people may focus on the AI like drawings of the animators in the drama, but I hope you realize that isn't just it. This drama is more than just the AI looking drawings, it's about life and how did they fight through it. Like as the season changes, what am I going to do about it and such.

I'd like to commend especially the halmeonis and harabeoji actors, I think they made me stay for this drama. I mean don't get me wrong; the other actors are amazing too but growing up with my grandmother as a child made me focus more on the grannies, they have a soft spot in my heart. And Hayeong (middle sister), I love her through and through, no words can explain how I felt while watching her.

The music didn't stick out to me honestly, but I will probably watch some tt edits of them.

Astronomical Bureau? Count me in!

I was hesitant to watch this at first since I'm a Xianxia type of watcher but dang, the episode 1 hook me in! It didn't fail me also because the fact that the FL is strong? GIRL MOTHER OF ACTIONS SHE IS ABSOLUTELY ✨🙂‍↕️

The story is your typical-revenge-for-my-family, but it has elements that makes it unique for this show because wdym the emperor is not in cahoots with the bad guys but is kind and loving for the FL? He is a rational as he is soft hearted leader (but I get you guys if some of y'all hate him edit: i think i'm starting to hate him too) but we can't dismiss the fact that he is an emperor, too at the same time he's her uncle. Not many dramas between consorts (i love consort shu btw) but I am hooked when they're investigating cases that I haven't seen in other costume dramas. I was confused with the characters, but I definitely managed along the way (there's so many extras huhuhu). The FL is so niche that she can do it all, investigating, cutting people (this is funny in my mind sorry), can acupuncture, can tell which is which ingredients of decoction by smelling but she's also kind-hearted behind it all. I love her character is how beautifully written and Bai Lu just personified it for us.

The ML? His role is one of the reasons that I kept on watching this. Baby girl MLs are so rare that this really sink me in. WDYM HE READ STARS AND ALL? His work is that????? NOT A GENERAL? A PRINCE? OR WHATEVER LEADER OF A TRIBE? OHHH COUNT ME IN!!! As the FL is beautifully written, the ML is, too. I'm in deep for head over heels ML and this one is amazing. He read stars for her; he exists for her and what is wrong with that? He may be not physically strong, but he does his best to protect the FL in his own ways. He's beyond smart; thought of ways on how to investigate without the need of the FL experimenting on herself. He brought reinforcements and always calculated everything (that I'm thinking ain't your brain fried yet? 😭) PS. I'm in no place to comment on this but will definitely still comment cos I'm just a girl, the MU of Wang Xing Yue, I really wanna call you out huhu why is Xing Yue's make up like not evenly applied? It changes in every scene (not scene I forgot how to word it out huhu) but it really did bother me cos Xing Yue's really attractive, but that makeup is so not attracting I'M SO SORRY 😭😭😭

I appreciate all the behind stories of the show but my favorite one so far is the father taking revenge for her daughter (Secrets of Auspicious Time) my mind is blown in 4 different ways, the father really plotted a revenge that deserves the word revenge. From burning his in-law's house (with them in it ofc) to killing the rich man who's the father of his grandson. He spent no expense just to bring justice for her daughter's death.

And my least favorite? The Worshipping of False Deity GIRLY SCARED THE SH-- OUT OF ME. The extras are so talented that they're creepy af. They're so out of this world creepy that my soul left too while watching them (I'm jumpy I know).

The actors definitely did great with this show especially the main leads, Bai Lu and Wang Xing Yue. But I didn't expect Dai Lu Wa was in this also since she appeared only a little on that 1 episode and showed at the latter parts (BUT HER CHARACTER IS SO FUN IN HERE I LOVE IT). From sisters in Moonlight Mystique to subordinates in this show.

I'm a bit disappointed with the music, it's not giving that "it" factor when it played in some scenes (but the intro is giving revenge vibe and the outro is healing). But I love that they omitted the unnecessary background music when the ML/FL meet iykyk.

I will definitely not rewatch it since it's a bit revenge-y but will surely watch tt edits of it cos our girly Bai Lu is so badahh in this show.

HE DEFINITELY FELL FIRST Y’ALL

First, the storyline —I love how they changed it from the novel, wherein Hu Xiu is really into Mr. Qiao (the virtual game world) then changed into our XiuXiu being obsessed to beating the Mr. Qiao. Competitive girly y’all 🤣✨

AND Y’ALL FATE REALLY THEY’RE SO FATED I’M TELLING YOU 😩 I love how the subtle changes between the leads, the progress is going. From Zhi Yu being cold in real life to being Zhi Yu who always notices Hu Xiu 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ and I love me some girl besties in a drama —Xiao Rou running to her bestfriend cause someone called and she’s hurt? 🥺🩵

The actors? Dang they are good!!! This is the first time I’m watching Chen Xing Xu and girl I am shookt. He really does portray that cold-founder-of-the-company vibe who’s only soft with his woman ✨✨✨ AND DON’T MIND ME FAINTING WHEN I SAW XIAOXIAO BECAUSE SHE IS GORGEOUS IN THIS DRAMA 😩✨ +++ her acting? She’s so good that I don’t mind her stepping on me 🫣

The music is definitely lit —it was not disturbing, rather it was in sync with the scenes AND WHEN ZHI YU OVERTAKES THE CAR OF THE SECOND ML TO GET XIUXIU??? GIRLLLL I AM SEATED

I’m not sure if I’ll rewatch it since we’re still on episode 8 but will definitely watch some tt edits of them ✨

The flow of the drama is really well written, sad that there's no wedding scenes but the epilogue of ep. 28? IT'S AMAZINGGGG. It's giving how it started vs. how it ended ✨✨✨

AND YES, I WILL DEF REWATCH IT. This is all what we need to start our 2026, soft, kind & assuring 🩷🩷🩷

The drama we didn’t expect to be this good, it’s crazyyyy!!! ✨✨✨

First, the storyline. I definitely didn’t anticipate that twist —Yusen being the victim of it all. I love how things progressed between the leads and Xieguang’s character? The most humble and kind even though she’s from a nouveau rich family.

Don’t stop me from hating almost all the characters of this drama (applaud to the actors, they’re so good portraying their respective characters!!!) from Xieguang’s so-called college friends (except the one who stood up for her, that’s the only true friend she got from college) to her sperm donor of a father 😩 AND THAT MOTHER-DAUGHTER TANDEM GIRL MY BLOOD IS BOILING EVERY TIME THEY’RE ON SCREEN 😭 +++ the second ml? OHHH I WANNA ZIP HIS MOUTH EVERY TIME HE SPEAKS 😩

I so love Xieguang’s mom, also!!! Being so supportive and lets her daughter pave her own path 🫡✨

Back to the storyline, if you want a light watch, this is definitely for you. It’s not without problems and all but it will not hurt your brain overthinking what comes next ✨

And the music? I shout my lungs out in “WOULD YOU EVER BE CLOSE YOU AND MEEEE” 😩

Yes, would definitely rewatch since it’s a light one. I love the ending, too (too many time skips tho 🤣).

Lastly, I love how the drama turned out slightly different from the novel. You’ll know if you read the novel I know you’ll understand what I meant.

I know it’s 2025 but hear me out

A BADASS FEMALE LEAD? SIGN ME UP!

This is the first ever strong female lead that I watched like properly portrayed what strong is. She’s so independent from the start and towards the end —she needs no man to measure her value. All hail Queen Ruyi!!!

The build up of this storyline is a chef’s kiss! It was truly a journey but not just love, also life. I wanna applaud the casts of this drama because I am freaking speechless on how well they acted it.

My fave character is Prince/Princess Li, the character development of her in the drama? What do you mean she was timid at the first few episodes and grew resilient in the last ones? You need to watch this to understand what I mean!!!

The fun characters and scenes are to compensate how sad the last few episodes will be —I am bawling my eyes out for it I’m telling you.

The fighting scenes are ✨✨✨ and the soundtrack? Especially I think Boss Ning himself sang it and gave deeper feels when it was played.

Lastly, I felt the ending was missing something like what happened to the Duke and Princess? It only showed the tribe leader of Shaxi that’s why I felt it wasn’t enough. But yeah, I guess its purpose is to leave the audience a lingering feeling for the drama hehe

PS. I don’t really rewatch dramas unless it was deemed as my comfort drama so it’s up to you guys if you will 🥹🫡

A subjective review on this popular drama...

After watching 8 episodes, I’ve done my research because usually when watching costume dramas, I should have grasped the happenings and all —the gist of the drama plot but, none. Nada. I’m a bit confused but realized it’s a 40-episode drama that’s why it’s still like on the introductory stages, confusion is still on and will probably clear it on the 20-25th episode and despite all that, I’m still seated 🙂‍↕️

The story is about the FL who lost her parents from presumably bandits but there's a behind story about that as well and accidentally found our ML buried in snow, taking pity like it's her mom's sign, saved him not knowing he was the Marquis of Wu'an that everyone knew about. As I've read the book because I was confused in the drama, it gave me a little bit of understanding and watched it comfortably. The flow of the drama was alright, not too slow for a 40-episode, it still keeps your interest in the longer you're watching it. I was just a bit disappointed towards the end, the FL, considering that she is a General only appeared when saving her friend? Like what was that? She is considered one of the strongest, who fought her way to the top but didn't show any action towards the end? When the coup happened, where was the FL? Additionally, there are little details that they didn't elaborate. Why did they not include the reason why the Uncle of the ML took the blame of the sins that the late emperor did?

I watched dramas for the actors, yes. But I also watch with reason. I always, always try to understand the plot not just admiring the faces of the actors (but it really is a plus tho). The casts and their acting? Amazing. I love how they portrayed their character especially the child actors they're so great! The characters have their own canvases with different kinds of abstract paintings on them, deep and meaningful.

There’s still like things to note (that my sensitive ahh noticed) —the way the sound effects are there and sometimes it's not clearly needed in the scene. I don’t know what to call those but the cuts on certain scenes and moving on to the next? The element of confusion, I understand but the way the scenes are combined aren’t blended (idk if someone will understand me, ik it’s normal to cut scenes one after another ahhh i hope someone understands me on this) and lastly, I don’t have anything or something with the grand princess character but I was like literally confused on why is she here now? I know she was supposed to be the wife of the Marquis but why was the back story of her and the Grandmaster showing at the early episodes? 😭 Lastly, the falcon... the messenger bird needs the exposure with the FL's sister, but they didn't show it :(( There's so much more to note but that's okay, dramas are all like that, it's up to us on how we’ll digest and interpret dramas and this is how I perceived it. That’s all ~

The official soundtracks are okay, but I think expecting that this drama will top the viewer ratings, they should have chosen better fitting in the narrative, the intro, and I think it got better blending in the latter episodes especially that guasha scene and when the ML is like making his grand entrance 😂

Will probably watch some tt edits but not rewatch since there’s so many minor details to focus on 🥹

PS. Ngl I think the actors saved this drama 🥲🥲🥲

Our universe...

This drama is really bad... full disappointment why it was written like that, cos wdym she'll take custody for her nephew but proceeds to find love instead?

It was awful to the point that I skipped the parts which Uju aren't in it. I love the actors tho, they really did a good job portraying their roles but choosing their scripts isn't their forte... I think 🥲

Music? I can't remember, the storyline is so awful to the point that all I can remember is Uju's cuteness all throughout.

I will definitely not rewatch but watch tt edits of Uju to make my day 💗

Lastly, I'm literally speechless for this drama... and the reviews, too. People are blaming the actors but please blame the writers or whoever produced this drama. We're annoyed in the FL and that's surely because she can act (hence, the annoyance) but the terrible scripts and why the drama spiralled like that? Blame the one's behind the film and the management of the actors who can't choose the best for their actors.

It's not just about a crossdressing female, it's more than that.

As a girly who read the novel, it was justified but there's some scenes that I wished they showed it in the drama. Nevertheless, it was really good to the point that I had a c-drama slump after watching this 😭

I love how He Yan never deviated to her goal, to reclaim her rightful place and establish who she really is. Not just her being He Rufei, but her being He Yan and can do whatever a man can do, and the best at it at that. Xiao Jue? THAT GUY IS ON TOP BECAUSE WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE RESPECTS HER, VALUE HER, AND WON'T LET ANYONE SLANDER HER? SHE GRACES HIS EYES, OCCUPIES HIS MIND, AND CLAIMS HIS HEART? AHHHHHHHH GIRLLL HE YEARNS 😩😩😩

The actors? I LOVE THEIR CHEMISTRY ON AND OFF SCREEN THEY'RE SO ADORABLE!!!

THE MUSIC? GIRL DENG SHIN YUE DAW YING NI SHIN CHE FAN HUWA LUWO MEY YANNN (I'm sorry I don't speak chinese but I love the song please bear with me) ✨✨✨

AFTER A LONG C-DRAMA SLUMP, THIS MADE ME CAME BACK

Writing a review few weeks after I finished the drama. This is the first ever c-drama that I watched while it was on-going/airing (I don’t have the patience to wait). The episode gets better and better I’m telling you.

At first, I was skeptical but as the episode goes on? AHHH WORTH IT. There was the romance, the comedy and the angst between the couple. I really love how Ji Bozai fell first and fell even harder —will really do anything and will cross oceans and mountains for Ming Yi 😩🤌🏼💗

The plot? For the first time it revealed the unexpected—in a way that you think you already knew it? Nah, there’s more ✨

AND THE OST? HOU MINGHAO, JI BOZAI HIMSELF SANG IT AND IT’S STILL ON REPEAT IN MY SPO— ✨🎧

The actors are amazing!!! It was like a feast in our eyes, they’re all so beautiful! AND LU YUXIAO IS SO PRETTYYYY AHHHH 💗

It's cliche but hear me out ?

First of all, this kind of storyline is we already know it. From your local dramas to international ones, we all know it. But the way the actors expressed this? Their emotions? Their way of portraying their characters? GIRL, I THOUGHT THIS HAPPENED TO THEM IN REAL LIFE STOPPPP

And the scenes? THE SCENIC SCENES? STOP WHO IS THE CREATIVE DIRECTOR OR SOMETHING WHO IS IT? They didn't spare any penny; they literally justified the common storyline and served us great backgrounds, not just CGIs or backdrops or studio-built settings. For me, this was the cream, the cherry, the apple to my pie y'all.

Is it really a happy ending? (；′⌒`)

It's been a year since this has been released, and I just finished watching it. And why did I keep putting off watching this gem of a Xianxia?

The storyline? Girl, I am hooked! It's about the human, a mortal wanting to be an immortal met a demon AND IT GETS REALLY INTRESTING FROM START TO FINISH. I expected that Bai Shuo has something to do with the Demon Lord that saved her and Demon Lord itself is Fan Yue what I didn't expect is that they really separated them. Unlike other dramas that they will become the same as their past lives; they separated them and that's what I love about this. You don't have to be the "you" from the past, you can be your own person and that's alright.

THE ACTORS? GIRL THEY'RE ALL SO LIT I REALLY LOVE BADAHH FU LING I KNEW IT THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT HER CHARACTER THAT PULLS ME IN AHHHH AND SHE'S LITERALLY SO PRETTY HUHUHU WHEN SHE BECAME BAI XI? AHHH SOFTIE LOOKING FU LING BUT STILL BAD AHH

Applaud to all the cast of this drama for perfectly portraying their characters. I know I'm a year late but y'all did so well!

MYSTERY C-DRAMA? I’M SO IN !!!

It’s my second Ao Ruipeng drama and it didn’t disappoint!!! I love how he was smitten at first sight, wdym he was 😮 at her firsthand? ✨

I love the development of the drama —how mysteries are unfolded one after another and sometimes in the most unexpected ways.

The Senior Disciple scene, I got the freaking goosebumps because it did happen even here in the modern world. Kidnapping people & removing their guts? 🥹 GIRLLL I WAS SO AFRAID COS IT FEELS TOO REAL T__T

The plot also? The twist is indeed twisting, I definitely didn’t expect that!!! WDYM THE EMPEROR IS NOT THE EMPEROR I WAS FREAKING SHOCKED I LOVE HOW IT UNFOLDED TOO!!! There are bits and pieces of tiny hints like the Empress Dowager being shocked when they said what if she have “twins” for her grandchild.

Additionally, I LOVE THE GRANDMAS IN THIS SERIES THEY PORTRAY THE CHARACTER OF A GRANDMA THAT WE IMAGINED.

Overall, all characters were great!!! The acting was superb to the point that I was annoyed with that one sister please can someone knock some sense off her 😭

Music is good, too. But, I don’t really rewatch heavy or dramas that makes me overthink so, yeah.

Hmm, it has the potential to be a peak drama but…

Honestly, the early episodes were great. The organic encounters ✨ got my attention, fast paced drama (my cup of tea), but I think it dragged on. There are too many informations that’s not needed (in my opinion) and the amount of couples in the drama 😭 —the exposure of the main leads were lessening as the other couples made there appearance (they were cute ngl but the amount of their exposure isn’t needed, in my opinion).

It’s my first time watching Song Weilong in a costume drama and dang he didn’t disappoint!!! He’s for action genre ngl, he’s dashing. And the Bao Shangen? I LOVE HERRR (watched her in Whispers of Fate and disappointed that she’s not the love prospect so, I searched for her works and found this) —as much as she can do action scenes from WoF, she can do the cutesy scenes too!!! Like she’s made for this!

Lastly, this is so refreshing because what do you mean the Emperor is besties with the male lead???? (I mean not but you know what I mean) —IF YOU WANNA WATCH A LIGHTHEARTED COSTUME DRAMA, WATCH THISSS.

The actors and music are great but I think I wouldn’t re-watch this because it lacks something in the second half —it didn’t intrigue me enough but yeah, watch on your own decisionnn ~~

First time watching a racing based drama and I’m hooked

First, I’m into cars so when I saw the trailer and synopsis about the drama I set a reminder to watch this and it’s better than what I’ve expected (in all c-dramas that I’ve watch, I really set my expectations low so I will not be disappointed).

What I really wanted to point out is that the setting was in Thailand, but its like, doesn’t say much about it. It’s like all of the people in Thailand were chinese-speaking and didn’t integrate much of it —they tried speaking in Thai but please, can the actors and the extras match the lips and the audio huhuhuhu it was so awkward while watching it 😭 I know they dubbed it because of the noise and all but yeah just my few pieces hehe

Another thing is that when Zhao and Mu were like in the driving scene, when MuMu was the navigator? (the one with emotional talk) I’m no race car driver but when they were talking, it’s like ZhaoZhao is not driving, the hands doesn’t move 😭 I know these are just little things but when little things are piled up, it becomes big.

But the actors tho? Especially, San Lai & Jin Zhao, they are damn great!!! The fighting scenes of He Yu? It was amazing! ✨

The cinematography when there’s like a racing competition was excellent, too!!! I was not expecting that level of production cos girl I am hooked every race scene AND THE SOUNDTRACK??? I LOVEEEE 💗

Lastly, I’ve been reading the novel and there’s some changes that I liked is that when MuMu and Snakey had the heart to heart talk? I AM WEAK WITH GIRL FRIENDSHIP I DEF LOVE THAT THEY MADE SNAKEY THE ONE WHO REVEALED SOMETHING NOT THE CRAZY FRIEND. The other scenes should not have been changed but oh well, censorship and all I think. It’s still a good watch tho.

and I think that’s all hehe will continue to watch tho because it really exceeded my expectations but probably will not rewatch it, but can watch some clips tho when it appears to my fyp.

I was scrolling in iqiyi and saw it was trending so, I had to glimpse at it at 1:00 am —testing the waters if I’ll continue watching it later that day.

Yes, I resumed watching it because I was hook by the chemistry of Chi Yun and Tang Li Ci +++ there’s a female swordsman (because lately, I AM OBSESSED WITH STRONG FEMALE LEADS ✨) —and disappointed when Zhong Chun Ji wasn’t the female lead 🥹

I don’t know if it’s just me but the chemistry is lacking between Li Ci and A’Shui but don’t get me wrong, their acting is great but the chemistry wasn’t giving —I just noticed that they’re the couple because of the background music playing when they’re both in the scene together like 😭 (& can’t helped it, I watched some tt edits, too)

All the actors are great but maybe the story didn’t gave enough of something since this was the comeback of the famous wuxia actor, Leo and maybe the expectations were too high that’s why I expected too much too.

One thing that I will commend in this drama is the CGIs because it was spectacular!!!

The story sequence? I don’t know how to call it but I think it can be better —it was like one scene to another (yes, its usually like that I know), what I mean is the cutting transition (?) of scenes doesn’t mesh but mess with it.

Overall, I will still continue to watch since the actors are great —they did well portraying their character and that’s a huge thing for me when watching a drama.
