Nan heng lied to her because he doesn’t feel like she would trust him because no one has trusted him his whole life, plus fl has been in a tunnel vision about who he is as a person from the beginning- making assumptions about him like everyone else even though he has tried to convince her otherwise. What makes you think through any of her words and actions would put faith iinto him coming clean to her?this isn’t putting NH on a pedestal. Maybe you should stop putting fl on a pedestal ?

So many modern c dramas really put no effort into making the (non-rich) fl’s look like a lead. Like they always make them look as average as possible. I love sze and she looks like a total beauty in prisoner of beauty but they really didn’t style her very well in this drama

So I ended up finishing it, not because it particularly drew me in anymore. but if you managed to stick it through to the 2nd half of the drama its a lot better as they have a more mature mindset by then, but overall i think this is a nice drama about young peoples ideals and careers more than a love story, which isn't a bad thing I suppose. But I did originally want more love story
I had high hopes for this drama mainly because I loved Xing zhoalin in Lucky's first love and I've seen the An yue xi in arsenal military academy too and I like her. I love the fashion and literature driven theme to this drama too, I would say I look forward to see what shes wearing in every episode.
In terms of the current plot, I'm quite disappointed. The first 3 episodes sees Li Xiao acting like a know-it-all, spoilt brat, with her main traits being arrogant, way too honest for her own good yet also very naive. I get that there is a certain amount of character development involved here but even when she learns the hard way from making major mistakes, she hasn't changed as a person yet, in that she is still arrogant and annoying. Instead of doing better, to achieve her dreams, all she does is cry and moan and blame other people, why do these writers have to make out fashion people are all like that?!
Xing zhaolin's character isn't much better, he is a super stubborn writer also with a some arrogance, maybe that's why the 2 leads gel!
I was going to give up after ep 3 but I stuck to it till now, and it seems like every mistake or situations caused by Li Xiao is annoying me so much, I don't think I can carry on with watching the rest of it, I can't find anything likeable about her character at all and Zhou Zimou needs to pull himself together and stop acting like he's better than everyone else.
