If you liked Reply 1988, you will love this.
I CRIED TWICE DURING EACH EPISODE I SWEAR!!!!! this drama was so relatable as an eldest daughter with brothers and i saw myself in seokryu's character constantly. the family dynamics in this hit home and made me wish i had a better relationship with my family :') love next door shows that no matter what you say to each other or how far apart you've grown, you can always find a home within your family.
jung somin's acting in this is phenomenal; exactly how i act around my family. she captured being the asian eldest daughter so well. but i wish her kissing was better. i keep seeing her kissing scenes and i'm not impressed.
all the characters and their relationships are shown beautifully; misuk and geunsik, hyesuk and gyeongjong, moeum and her mom jaesuk... all the characters are just written so realistically. this was definitely a feel good, slice of life yet relatable family drama :")
overall, what kept me watching was not the romance but the family relationships between each character and their parents.
