i get you, for me the opening isn't really engaging and pretty awkward to begin the story with the ahjumma bickering. should have started off with the childhood story or anything else with the leads included.

i know it is some asian family thing to punish their children by beating them up, but i will never understand the root of this, i myself didn't learn a thing from the beating and only remember the trauma. looking at seokryu's convo with her mom, it seems like a repititive "lessons" and if it was real life story, it would be hard for that kind of parents to learn and change. also ep 2 preview hits me hard lol i once moved to another city for work, and when i went back home, my mother turned my room into a storage room and get rid of my belonging 😂 anw i cant wait for next ep, the friends to lovers plot is my fav trope and i dont have any issue with the leads, i love their personality and the chemistry.

just finished watching~! i definitely enjoy it way better than i thought, adding extra point bcs shen yurong and wanning are interesting antagonist pair XD and omg a good emperor who is actually young, smart, wise and friend with ml? damn that is one of a kind
