I would have gave my score of the drama higher IF they didn't drag the hostage situation all the way to the end. It started on episode 5 and I thought it would end in like 3 episodes but no no no no it didn't. I kind of feel that Yeong Ro forgave Soo Ho too quickly or maybe there was a reason why she did that I forgot.
The hostage situation being dragged to the end brought some frustration in me. Some dumb decisions by the characters, lack of threat/action happening, and repetiveness. It was frustrating and tiresome yet I still kept watching to see when does the freaking end already.
I didnf like how they turned Bun Ok into a victim at the end after beinf the annoyingest pest ij the drama. After everything she did she doesnt deserve sympathy. I don't think she even apologized. Terrible character.
I was moved by the romance between Yeong Ro and Soo Ho even if they didn't get enough cute moments together. For me that's fine. I don't mind the tragic death. I think he would have been killed either way because I think he was going back to the North if he didn't go back to save Yeong Ro.
My biggest issue was the pacing and story. Had they done the hostage situation at like episode 10 to the end, maybe my score would have been rated higher.
Why don't they just include the hostage situation into the description of this drama? It literally was the main focus for the majority and I mean majority of the drama
Did he really kill that innocent kid Yu na? what was his reason?
Yes he did kill Yu Na. They showed he pushed her and he had a drawing of him pushing her off the roof. Idk I think the reason was he was a psycho. Or something related to his relationship with his family. Typical rich family problems something like they didn't care much for him.
if anyone would like to watch heres a link to it https://shorturl.at/brtFH
There are the first 3 episodes eng subbed on Veoh. You can also find all of the episodes on Veoh too but looks like the other episodes have no eng subs there.
A waste of my time. I should have dropped this like at the halfway point. I hate myself for even finishing through even tho it was just fast forwarding it.
Good beginning. I was hooked and cheered for the SFL Si Ho/Dan Sol. I It made me want to see her reincarnated self meet the ML and when she recovered her memories. I wasted my time.
Not even one moment in the present time that they got a moment together. Just frustrating asf. She didn't recover her memories. He never held her in his arms. Once it was revealed or hinted the ML and FL were a couple years before the SFL and ML, they flat out ignored the SFL. They just kept forcing the moments of the ML and FL. I was introduced to the ML and FML as a couple first and actually liked them. The ML and FL together felt so forced.
The ML realized the student Do Yoon was his little son years ago. He then started to care and treat him like his son. But for his wife from 600 years ago, he didn't do anything for her in the present. Because they put all the love teasing moments to the FL instead. Gong Seung Yeon's character deserved better.
TLDR: I liked the SFL better than the FL and wanted her to be with the ML.
First off, I would have had Doo Hak's father be against the idea of sending his son to prison for taking the blame…
I would have had CW's mother get punished in a way that sentenced her to prison. Cheol Woong would be punished and sent to prison to but have his be shorter than his mother somehow. He asks for forgiveness to many. He is now prepared and ready to go to prison. DH and his family support him in his time there to help him change as well. Then do a time skip where CW is free to go. Have the family welcome him into their family. Show Jung Shin and Doo Hak have their wedding before this and give them a kid in the future. Put the other couple between DH's friend and actress together again.
They rushed to "redeem" Cheol Woong to quickly. I get they wanted to end with the 3 together because they were the main point of the drama but come on. If you want to redeem CW, you have to give more effort because he was such a prick through the drama.
Another missed opportunity was not enough focus for Doo Hak's family. There was something with Doo Hak's sister about her and the rebel guy. But as time went on, there didn't put attention to it as much. So the way they closed it was rushed to finish it off. We didn't learn enough about Jung Ok or we weren't invested enough in her. There needed to be more of how her family reacted to the person she was with and the things she was dealing with.
Maybe it's just me but have Doo Hak be rescued by some village/locals instead of a gang boss when he was shot into the ocean.
At first I loved the drama but then as I finished it I just liked it.
First off, I would have had Doo Hak's father be against the idea of sending his son to prison for taking the blame…
The ending didn't have enough/a good closure.
To the ending, the bad people got the "easy" way out after everything the ML suffered. Instead of going to prison, the deputy director in a hospital room(idk why) jumps out the window to take his life. The so called mother of Cheol Woong is sent to a psychiatric hospital. This one bugged me because they should have wrote in some way she was the one to set up the plan to kill DH's father or some other crime to send her to prison. She kept slapping Doo Hak's mother and this "punishment" for her was not enough. I wished they had Doo Hak suspecting CW's mother more as the top culprit in this mess instead of CW/the director. He didn't get to have enough hatred of her compared to CW and Director. Make him witness one of the times CW's mother slaps his mother.
For Cheol Woong, he kind of redeems himself when he doesn't shoot Doo Hak and protects him from his father the director. I was expecting him to take a bullet to protect his actual blood related brother but nope. It's weird, Doo Hak takes another bullet and is on the verge of dying only to be alive. They way it was shot really looked like he was gonna die but I guess they wanted to give him a happy ending which he did deserve. Back to Cheol Woong, I thought he need some more time to redeem himself since that's what the writers wanted.

I got some thoughts on the show and ideas they could have done instead below.
First off, I would have had Doo Hak's father be against the idea of sending his son to prison for taking the blame over Cheol Woong. Make Cheol Woong and his mother feel trapped until she begs the deputy director Hwang to help. Have him pull shenanigans with his power status to frame the death of the gangster on Doo Hak. The police unexpectedly come to arrest Doo Hak leaving everyone in shock. DH's family tries their best to prove he is guilty but fails. Also have Cheol Woong not admit the truth to add the same but more hatred from Doo Hak to him. The way they originally did this it made people dislike Doo Hak's father decision. Let us hate the villain with their power abuse to frame Doo Hak instead of the father of the protagonist.
Dropped after episode 8. Getting repetitive with the plot twist after plot twist, new case where this suspect is the main killer, that suspect was not the main killer after all, police look dumb, and back to square one. Repeat
First half was pretty fun but then it got stale. Like they just kept going backwards to the contract instead of trying to fight their way out of it. The antagonist motive for this wedding was weird and weak. He wanted her to marry his son because he used to love her mother. So in a way his son would be in his place marrying her daughter in the place of her dead mom? No other reasons revealed to why he wanted this marriage besides he loved her mom.
The wedding of the contract was supposed to be a big obstacle for them to overcome. Instead the FL and SML just rejected the vows at the wedding and that's that. The SML's father kicks his son out of his house and no lessons learn or punishment. Mae Ri's father never is determined to ask his friend why he wants her to marry his son. He is so adamant on her to marry his friend's son because of the wealth and "happier" life. It is only until the end he learns the reason why this happened and learns he should have looked at her side for things like marriage/love. I kind of wish after all that he would kind of accept the ML. Mu Kyul's mother doesn't get a proper resolution as did she finally become a better person or no?
I like the interactions between the 3 leads. I like that the SML who was from the wealthy family didn't become one that would be greedy and force Mae Ri to choose him. It felt like a fair fight I guess. Bonus points to those who like BL because these writers had funny moments that they teased some tension of BL between the 2 leads.
