In the last episode before they actual kiss, this is why I freaking loved this couple and the 2 actors. The chemistry between them was such fun. When Hyuga is about to kiss Natsui, he hesitates and messes it up. She laughs and so does he. Then he is able to kiss her. It makes me wonder if this scene was a blooper but they decided to keep it in anyways 😆. But it kind of fit his character.
Just saw the first episode and already I feel underwhelmed and disappointed. The romance to set the leads up just felt flat and forced to me 🤦♂️. The mystery aspect doesn't feel big.
I kind of liked the first 2 episodes then I wanted to stop. So the ML Woo Hyun and Ki Young aka Hades are involved in a fire explosion and one survived. It was Ki Young but they don't bother to do a dna check on the body at all so they go along with it that the surviving body is Woo Hyun. Also the FL does check his fingerprints to see his dna match and it was not the ML. But she keeps it a secret. The fat police detective was going to check his fingerprints but was denied and doesn't check again. Huh
They mention that they did a surgery to make Ki Young's face into Woo Hyun face because they think it's him. Idk how if thats possible. But his face is now as Woo Hyun but his voice should be Ki Young. Of course they don't want to mix that stuff up so they have So Ji Sub play like a different personality/character.
Tldr it's a body swap/fake identity trope. If you think about it the real character of the ML died so it's basically Ki Young as him now. But it's so difficult for me to watch this change when I was invested in the other character of the actor. I think I just hate body swaps trope in dramas. Especially when one of the body died. I rather watch the amnesia trope instead.
Dropped after 7 episodes. It started off decent but when it kicks into the actual timeline, I got bored. The 2 leads are already on good terms ready to become a couple but they will drag it out. There isn't a main plot besides their lives as doctors. There's some sub plots to somewhat keep you interested mainly related to the FL but it's not interesting enough for me to keep watching.
It’s good for the people who enjoyed it, hence the 9.2 rating. But people have different tastes. What’s enjoyable…
I just saw the first episode. It was alright nothing too special. I'm interested in the serious scenes where they tackle his backstory that leads to his depression and the acting between the two.
The shining spot for me is that I have seen this drama is being compared similar to a Cdrama "Shining for one thing". I absolutely loved that drama. I hope this is as good as that one.
I've seen 7 episodes and I am going to stop watching. You Yue the girl who is such a simp and annoying asf is unwatchable. This character does not stop talking at all. This character trope of someone being a simp to their crush when their crush said no to them needs to be gone forever. One of the worst tropes ever.
Not just that but the plot went into the formula of having the MC train at a academy to get stronger trope. This is fine if the MC is interesting enough to keep me invested or doesn't feel filler/less cheesy but I've seen how this stuff goes down often now. And I'm getting tired of this formula.
The amount of negative comments of this drama is concerning to me as I haven't watched it yet. I had very high hopes for this drama. I hope I still like it
I first saw Healer then If you wish upon me and Ji Chang Wook impressed me. I loved those 2 dramas and his character/acting in it. But his dramas after healer until if you wish upon me I just couldn't sit through and watch. It might just be me since romcoms are not my favorite genres.
I thought it would be good as IRIS but after 5 episodes, I feel bored. The pacing with the plot development feels slow. I feel lost at times who is the villain he is fighting against besides the mole in NIS.
The ending really ruined it for lots of fans of the drama. I personally really enjoyed the drama. I don't want to let the ending ruined my love for the drama up to that point. If they HAD to kill off the ML, there were other ways to do it.
They could have killed him off protecting either the FL or SFL. The happier ending would be seeing the ML and FL ride off to the sunset somewhere far away because they just wanted to live peaceful lives. Then in season 2, at the start you can mention offscreen that they were killed in some accident offscreen. It kind of doesn't make sense if IRIS is still alive in season 2 and NSS calls the ML and FL to help but they decline. They should show some scene that IRIS is still alive then end the drama with a scene of the FL and ML happy as a couple.
Sequel to the drama shouldn't be made if you don't get your main cast back because they fit the story and their characters need to finish the story.
Was I the only one that liked the SFL better than the FL?
I actually wanted Hyun Jun to end up with Seon Hwa. He was the reason for her to keep living and she helped him live too to get revenge. It wasn't quick or forced romance from them. She didn't fall into the trope of being a bitchy SFL where she forces her feelings on him. She kept her feelings to herself knowing he still loved the FL and she knew she was alive. She didn't play with his heart. Hyun Jun and Seon Hwa worked great together in the action scenes. Their parting scene was so emotional to go through.
Then there was a scenario I thought they would shock everyone. There were some teases near the end that the FL Seung Hee was in IRIS or about to join and would betray Hyun Jun. Seon Hwa was the better character than the FL Seung Hee to me. Sometimes Seung Hee was stupid in her decision making.
Please spoil me about some things below for anyone who has seen IRIS 2
I finished the kdrama IRIS (2009) and am still stunned/amaze of the drama. The ending really left me with questions. I've noticed they made a sequel IRIS 2 and it's a new main cast.
Is IRIS 2 a new "drama"? I think they want to continue the story of IRIS but I don't see Kim Tae Hee's character as main lead. I see Kim So Yeon's character as a cameo. If you watched the end of IRIS you would think the next step in the story of IRIS 2 would be Seung Hee(Kim Tae Hee's character) avenging Hyun Jun after he died at the end. Maybe also Seon Hwa(Kim So Yeon's character) helps her too. They should both be upset that the man they loved died and take down IRIS for good. But why is it a new main cast and main characters trying to fit into the plot of IRIS left on?
Couldn't they have just casted new actresses for the FL and SFL but same character? Do they explain in IRIS 2 what happened to the FL and SFL from og IRIS? Did they die offscreen during the years passed to the start of IRIS 2? I can remember they said late in the drama that Seung Hee's father was the one who created IRIS I think. Her character feels important for the plot that she needs to stay in IRIS 2.
They could have had the 2 FL's working together and you can throw in a new ML character. You can then have the new ML fall for Seung Hee or not You could just pair do a love triangle again but the SFL wins the new ML.
Did IRIS 2 plot make sense with the newer characters fitting in? The new characters can be introduced to take down IRIS but what backstory/connections do they have with IRIS? That's what the ML and FL had when fighting IRIS. Introducing new characters to fight against IRIS feels off. Even if they suddenly have history with IRIS it feels forced to make thing more personal than them being there to fight the evil organization.
