Ever since I watched Hitotsu Yane no Shita or Under one roof season 1, I loved the drama so much. I found out about the second season and was very excited to see the Kashiwagi family again. However I was wrong and disappointed at the second season. I was very upset at one issue of this final season to the drama which was the decision to have Koyuki die.

Before I get to the Koyuki situation, I did like the the new stories for Fumiya, Kazuya, and Koume. Fumiya connecting with his pen pal who was a blind girl and they then like each other. Kazuya having a new goal which was running like An chan. Koume getting over her traumatic event being sexually assaulted by being able to like a guy. They added new development for these 3 younger Kashiwagi siblings.

The new characters to the cast are Miki and Masumi who live in the house. Only one of them did I think was a great addition and that was Miki played by Matsu Takako. I was excited when I saw her in this season and thinking that it would be better than the first thanks to Matsu Takako being added in. However I wasn't prepared for another new character in Masumi who I believe is not in the photo the family took updated as seen in the drama cover photo here. That alone defines how I feel about him. Adding Masumi to the drama felt unnecessary. I can see why because Chii niichan left and was only in the drama for the 1st episode and the last few. Masumi just felt out of place in the drama that he was this stranger. Miki was a better add for her development with Kazuya and both becoming a couple.

I think that the only reason they made Koyuki have leukemia was to conclude the love triangle between An chan, Chii niichan, and herself. If it was then what a terrible decision. There was no need to kill off any of the family member. They all suffered after their parents passed away when they all were separated. Why couldn't they keep it more simple and have Koyuki choose and they can live together happy as a family still!

Then there is that weird reveal to who Koyuki chooses at the end. It really confused me to when did this happen or did it happen at all? So after Koyuki passes away, a time skip I assume, where stuff happens and the family is celebrating. Chii niichan tells their uncle he is leaving again. Kazuya overheard this and woke up early to send Chii niichan off but takes him to the Ferriss wheel. As mentioned in the drama, this was where Koyuki was lost as a child in the ferriss wheel when Chii niichan found her. They mention that Koyuki had 1 day where she got to go out of the hospital and she was in the wedding dress An chan bought. She confessed her love to Chii niichan and he won. I really think this was just a way to give viewers a happy ending at least. Instead it is confusing to when did this happen or is it a dream? The timing of this doesn't make sense at all. Then the real end is a new woman entering the laundry shop run by An chan only now, asking for the part time job. He looks at her who is taller than Koyuki but has a similar hairstyle. Meh.

So, the idea to kill Koyuki upset me about the drama. She was such a great character. I can't ever go back to watch the second season again. The first season was a masterpiece.
Also the song used in the background through the drama called Hidamari no Uta by Le Couple was beautiful. It was so calming to listen to.

Yes! Vincent Zhao wasn't the best or everyone's favorite Wong Fei Hung but he was memorable. Recently he reprised he role as Wong Fei Hung in some new movies about Wong Fei Hung but they aren't that good. When I saw he was playing as Huo Yuan Jia, his look reminded me of him playing Wong Fei Hung even though this is a different character. I am grateful that he was chosen as Huo Yuan Jia because he has the martial arts experience that made this drama so fun to watch. They made a cdrama of Wong Fei Hong in 2017 but it is mainly comedy focus. I watched a bit and didn't like the feel of it. This drama thought is very good thanks to Vincent Zhao's presence.

I really like the tone of how calm the drama was.

Second couple doesn't get a lot of screen time. I think SML likes SFL first.

There is one secondary couple it is Xiao Ai and Yang Chaung. I think the ML Ye likes the FL Wenxi first because he is trying to change his future to end up with her. The present/future ML likes the FL but in the past I think the FL slowly likes the ML first.

If this drama finished at episode 11, I would have given it a 10. I loved everything about the drama up to episode 11 but after that I disliked much after. I loved the slow development between our two main characters. They started off not great but as time went on he teased her a bit in class and outside. I loved that there was none of those romantic teases from them until after they became a couple. It felt like a bit normal for once. I loved when they realized that how special they were to one another when the class/term was over to test their relationship if it was only a teacher-student relationship or more. The confession scene was sweet.

I might be in the minority but I dislike romance dramas that makes the main couple together before the end. It shows in Somewhere only we know as they became a couple at the halfway point. I've seen a lot of romance dramas or shows by now to see what could happen when the main couple gets together before the end. They could stay together to the end with all the moments you love to see until it gets bored. The focus shifts away from the main couple to the other side characters. They break up due to a problem and get together at the end anyways or a love triangle happens. This is the one that occurs in the drama. They break up due to a conflict between Mu Chenghe's work and personal life being in a couple. He leaves to Germany to focus on his work while she and Liu Qi get together afterwards. Then at the end, Mu Chenghe returns because Xue Tong's best friend dies. I think they missed on here that when Mu Chenghe returned, it should be unexpected to Xue Tong.

The ending in the last episode of the drama is a wtf moment you can say. If you don't know there are drama specials for this drama. There are 3 episodes about the lives of the main couple and other side couples of their life after the drama. The one worth watching is about Xue Tong and Mu Chenghe because they clear up the ending to the drama. That ending where she was choosing between Mu or Liu and then a time skip to the future where husband arrives home to be Mu Chenghe. Then quickly they skip to the ending song and thats it the drama ends lol.

I think maybe they should have hold off on the confession to the end. There was no need for them to break up and for her to be a couple with another guy only for her to break up with him couple episodes later. Love triangles are just the worst in romance dramas. Not many people like it but if they kept it slow between the main couple as teacher-student, the ending would have been great.

The special about Xue Tong and Mu Chenghe is probably worth watching as it explains so much more than the ending they gave to the drama. It's like they wanted you to watch the special by the weird ending to the drama. I really like the story of Mu Chenghe's father and him solving the answer. The proposal was great as expected. I really wished the plot of his father made more impact in the drama. I really think the specials weren't worth making and that most of the stuff could have been in the drama. Also I like that short scene of Mu Chenghe and Chen Ting time in Russia. Their friendship could have been shown more in the drama.

Nice I forgot about the dog he was gonna give to Bai Lin. I still wished he was able to give it to her in the drama. It would have made a more impactful moment. Honestly, I wished they developed more of Bai Lin and Li Jia Hang's relationship more in the drama than finishing it up in a special. She spent way too much time with Zhong Qian that got stale.

Episode 23 is where the sister Qi Xi reunites with second brother Qi Nan.
Episode 24 is where the first brother Qi Dong and sister Qi Xi reunite.
Episode 25 is where the first brother Qi Dong reunites with the second brother Qi Nan. And then Episode 35 is where all three siblings reunite together as Qi Nan is released from prison. It was emotional watching these scenes again to find when they reunited. I remember when I was watching it I cried and still do looking back. The characters were so great with a touching backstory.

My favorite moments of the drama were the airport scene, saving grandpa, the balloons scene, the confession in college, and the talent show where Wenxi sang time machine. I still think the balloons scene was the best one because I thought thats when Ye realized he loved Wenxi. Wenxi was there to save Ye. The airport scene really got me thinking Ye was leaving like the original timeline and how Wenxi cried. The most saddest moment to me was when the present Ye went back to the past to break up with Wenxi himself to "save" the present Wenxi. Wenxi's actress was tremendous during this. Wenxi could not get over Ye breaking up with her suddenly. Episode 21 was when this happened. Then at the end of the episode Wenxi strted to cry at her desk, it hit me as well. I wanted to give Wenxi a hug. This drama had great happy moments and great sad moments. Also I love that the two leads aren't your typical leads. The male lead wasn't the most handsome guy and cool looking but he was actually shy and ccalm.

Thank you for the explanation of the last episode. If anyone was confused by the ending please read this. If mydramalist could sort comments by the hearts given, it would be easier for people to read your comment and better understand the ending.

I finished episode 3 and I almost couldn't handle it. Seeing the team handle a hostage situation was interesting. I like how they had the girl who was held hostage have a health problem that affected the strategy for the police and the Tokyo MER team. The criminal was very scary as he attacked people in the restaurant with his knife and he also had a gun prepared with lots of backup bullets. That monster is lucky that Natsume decided to call for help to save his life than let him suffer and die. I hope he got a severe punishment. I forgot until the end that zero people were killed even though the cop who got shot almost died laying there helpless until both teams made a plan. It was so intense I was thinking of the safety for the daughter and Natsume. I like at the end the MER team was in a brighter mood while Natsume rushes to pick up her daughter at daycare with that hug at the end. I am curious to more of the disasters or accidents they will meet next or if they will have to work with the cops again. Tokyo MER is looking like my favorite drama of the summer.

Just finished episode 12 and I found my favorite scene of the drama so far. I loved it when Wenxi rushed to Ye to bring him to safety when he was suffering from a past memory. Then in the present she helped him again but I loved the scene from the past. Also what kind of people pop balloons when the party isn't over yet.
