I just finished rewatching this during Spring Break and, I’ve got to say, I just love this show! It’s so positive and such a comforting watch! The relationship between Ye Xiu and his grandpa always gets me in the feels. 😭

I first watched this drama when it came out a couple years ago and it really made me cry, pulled on my heartstrings, and had me on the edge of my seat. Now, I’ve just finished re-watching the series and I think I cried even more than I did the first time. I cried at the happy moments, the funny ones, the break your heart moments, and the sweet moments, as well. It also seriously made me laugh so much and I just adore our main characters. If you’re considering watching this series, I would highly recommend it!

Was it only me who watched this without reading the plot and watching the trailer? Haha. I really thought it was…
Same here, I was definitely not expecting this and I'm really enjoying it so far. I can't wait for episode 3 to air!

It seems like the shows I enjoy most are the ones I pick up without any expectations; so far, this has been one of those. Since I've been pretty stressed out lately, I've had trouble finding anything that held my interest and could lighten my mood. This has been a nice break from all the tasks piling up in my to-do list. The characters are all great and I'm laughing nonstop at all the ways the lead has managed to get out of trouble while causing issues for our antagonists. I'll update this when I compete the show.

Title Double World
I really enjoyed this movie. Although, I understand why the score is what it is. While the story had so much potential, there simply wasn't enough time to develop the story and backgrounds of the characters in the way that they were reaching for. They were trying to tell too many stories on too grand a scale in a short movie and that resulted in it feeling rushed and a bit flat. By the end, it felt like there was so much of the story and the world left unexplored. However, I feel like that's common for such an epic undertaking in this genre. That being said, I think the most important point is that it left me wanting to see more, and that's a mark of success in my mind. If this could have been drawn out into a series, where they have the time to really dive into the story, develop the characters, and make the viewer invested, I think this likely would have done really well.

Aside from the story, this movie really shines through in the quality of its production. The costumes and sets were great (and the wigs were good); the cgi was well done; the fights were well choreographed and exciting; and the cinematography was really enjoyable. I really appreciate the work that went into the visuals of this movie and would probably watch it again with a friend, if just to enjoy this aspect.

To make this short, if you're looking for a masterpiece of story telling that will tug at your heart and leave you in tears, then this probably isn't what you're looking for. However, if you want something that's action-packed, has great visuals, gives a brief glimpse into an epic fantasy world full of potential stories, and will satisfy your desire for adventure, then you'd likely enjoy this.

Title Taxi Driver Spoiler
Damnnn, I just finished episode 12 and the show hasn't slowed down a bit. I knew that Baek Sung Mi would be bad news from the start, but that didn't make this episode any less impactful. I liked how they kept going back to that sign in Jang Sung Chul's home, "do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." It's at this point that we really realize how he's fallen away from his own philosophy and has been unintentionally helping an evil cause. His break down at the end made me so sad. It also feels like we've reached the climax of the story. The Deluxe Taxi crew and Prosecutor Ha Na have both had significant and perspective changing moments in the story and are beginning to question some of the values that they'd so firmly believed in before. I think they're also realizing that they're not so different after all and have a common cause. I'm really excited to see them working together to take down this organ trafficking ring. It's scary to think that such things actually exist in our world and are happening right around us. T-T Also, Cha Ji Yeon is doing such a great job at playing the villain! That laugh at the end was scary.
