Might I suggest, "Aoshima-kun wa Ijiwaru" it is a short series with no break up and not much misunderstanding.

Interesting, I got it from the comments section. I started watching but stopped around episode 6. Based on your view I might give it another go. Thanks for the feedback I really appreciated.

From the comment section it appears that they got together around episode 10, broke up episode 11 and got back together episode 22. I will skip this one as it is not my cup of tea. Hope it helps someone else.

Yes, the father of the ML has another girl that the ML should be with SFL. Therefore, he disapproves the ML and FL relationship. However, do not let that discourage you as the father of the ML is an asshole in general and want to control every aspect of the ML life from love to career decisions, normally I would also drop these type of situations but what kept me going was the communication between the ML and FL, the family dynamics of the FL and the ML standing up for the FL. The FL helps the ML open up and the way they interact shows respect and mutual understanding without hurting each other. I would tell you, give it a shoot. It is the best healthy relationship lakorn I have watched.
