This adaptation did good. They incorporated the Korean flavor in the story. That cliche bus scene is a ridiculous chef's kiss for me. They also addressed things that are not addressed or just glazed over in the Japanese adaptation.

I like that before everything that transpired in the story, they already "met" in the hospital, cuz of course they have health conditions that need checking up. Though ML is so not convincing as sickly or someone who has underlying heart condition, which would make his death more impactful in universe I guess, but he's still too muscular for the character. I also like that FL was able to retain what the ML taught her (shoe tying, music taste); I can't recall the JP ver doing this.

Just sad we didn't get to meet ML sister bc she doesn't exist here. The JP ver did a much better adaptation of the novel. KR ver feels like an adaptation of the JP movie instead of the novel. Still I give kudos to the cast and staff, they were able to deliver what needs to be delivered.

Iba talaga kapag magka edad yung leads eh! Sayang lang hindi masyado flinesh out yung romance nila Beiming at Xueman, when the drama was able to sizzle the romance nila Feng at Dairong. Talagang detective drama ang focus.

Really praying that Xingyue and Hanzhi work together again, in a modern romance genre tapos with many make outs hehehehe. Cute naman kase sila eh, hindi lang masyadong nashowcase dito.

Am I watching a drama or reading an audiobook? Almost half of the first episode Yangyang is narrating. Not a great way to start a drama 🥲 good thing youku has 3x flash forwarding ..

Just finished watching "You Are My Glory" and Yangyang's ex gf in that drama is his FL here? Awwwwwhh I wanna hug her character in Glory like: "Girl don't worry, in another universe you are his girl"

So many insight and I understand Yimeng more after reading this.

This drama has so many layers, chinese watchers are really lucky because the inside jokes, memes used and mottos in the drama can only be understood if you are really part of the society. No wonder it's really a big hit in China.

Let me rant here for the recent episodes and the trailer for Ep 31-32..

I'm only watching this drama for Ma Siyi and Chen Rui, so I'm just really clicking through and skipping scenes and flash forwarding to look for the miniscule seconds of MSY & CR scenes and I just really want to watch them only.

But of course even when your skipping through every 10 secs to minutes, you could get the gist of what's happening to the main characters and the general plot. And all I can say is that these past episodes are so FRUSTRATING, what's happening with the friend group INFURIATES me so much when I don't even really care about them.

Now I'm gonna relay what little understanding I have so far with the events cuz really I don't care. Feng Hua keeping her diagnosis to herself and not sharing it to Wang He and friends, Xingchi sabotaging himself yet again cuz why is he doing his current job so badly idk. Because of what Feng Hua and Xingchi are doing, it's affecting Wanghe's temper and is going to a spiral with his work. I'm also just so sorry and frustrated for and of Haikuo because of what his friends are doing, it's also affecting him and his relationship with his gf. Can they just get it together, have an open forum and communicate and reveal their problems to each other right this instance? What a mess of a friendship right now.

Btw, the aunties and uncles, I have no problem with them. Just so sad Grandpa Zhao has Alzheimer's.

I just miss Ma Siyi and Chen Rui so much. Can she come back now? I hope someone in chinese cyberspace and here as well compile just Siyi and Chenrui scenes. Because they are the reason why I'm here

The only time the FL is a willing participant, umatras naman yung ML. Haynaku pasalamat nalang na ok ang dalawang leads and maganda naman ang overall plot. Sadyang yung kissing and bed scenes lang is borderline grape territory.

This drama should be watched with logic and brains turned off, because let's be honest, this drama is not romantic at all. Assault here and there, bed scenes happen when there's aphrodisiac involved. Good thing the plot is compelling enough.😂. Well, only short, vertical dramas can do this type of stories.

This is my first vertical drama with BE. I thought they only have GE dramas. Oh why would they do this 😭😭

As much as I would like to watch this drama, I just don't have the mental and emotional capacity to watch a long slice of life drama. So answers are super appreciated.

I love the pacing of this drama. The camera movement may not be ideal for some but it creates this documentary-like atmosphere, thus it's like we are watching a high school life documentary. I advise though that if you want to watch the original adaptation, do it first because its pacing is slower (it's in a typical kdrama format) that you may not bare watching it if you watch this jp adaptation first given how fast the pacing of this drama.

I'm actually only tuning in because of the kids.. Both Woojin and Suin (young Gangtae and Munyoung) are in here and their instagram posts with the young casts of this drama when they had a wrap party passed by my timeline, so I've been looking forward to watch them in this.

But oh boy I really hate that the FL is a scammer, it really is such a turn off. Taking advantage of the atypical family's suffering... Yeah eat the rich, but maybe there are more despicable rich families to eat out there???

Im only gonna enjoy 2-3 mins screentime of Ina's middle school adventures I guess.
