It sucks that she isn’t getting any lead roles but it’s also amazing how she’s getting roles despite not being from a top company (it seems). Anyway, she just needs a breakthrough role. I’m really excited for this one! I have a feeling this is gonna be one of my most favorite c-dramas to ever be released. I admit... Ni Ni and Deng Lun are actually my definition of top c-visual couple (it has been way too long since I saw such a really gorgeous pairing from c-ent — objectively and subjectively speaking lol) so that’s a plus. But the main reason why I’m stoked for this is because of their ability as actors, especially Ni Ni (as my girl is literally the definition of a queen — poised with beauty and talent).
I voted for 17 and I’m pretty sure I won’t be watching those! I do have 15 shows I’m planning to watch out of the 33 unranked though. The rest either I already finished or dropped!

Exactly! She’s not the greatest actress but people saying she is just a pretty face sans the ability to act are a bit too harsh on her. She’s not really my go-to c-actress but the resources she has are actually good enough to want me to watch her works. As a viewer, that’s enough reason to watch her instead of being dissuaded with people’s opinion on her.
Anyway, I’m rooting for her growth just like how I am rooting for some other ‘bashed’ actresses there are in c-ent despite me not really having them as favorites (tbh, idkw but I usually can have tolerance on actresses as long as they have potential but it’s hard for me to break my first watching impression on actors who did bad lol).

Oh no! I’m definitely fine with Qiao Xin just like I am with Gulinazha. I haven’t watched much from her and has yet to complete her series ‘You Complete Me’ but I do find QX sophisticated, especially when I see photos of her on twitter when she attends events. Anyway, ‘Ode to Joy’ has been in my PTW list for a long time now but there are just so many in my list + it all depends on my mood really so until now, I haven’t gotten that right time for me to watch it. Haha. Anyway, I got interested with Wang Kai’s works after watching him in ‘When a Snail Falls in Love’ with Olivia Wang (who is actually also an OTJ cast).

Also, I just finished ‘Legend of Nine Tails Fox.’ I actually didn’t know she was part of it because I just watched it while bingeing Wang Kai’s works. Again, I did think she was ‘okay’ in it.

Exactly with the double standards! There are actually some popular c-actors I’ve been staying away from watching their works despite the hype. I’ll prolly watch their work only if the plot is really interesting enough! RBF is an abbreviation for ‘resting bitch face’ (actually just means she has a blank face but again, that suits the placid image her character is depicted as tbh).
As for Gulinazha, I had a phase in my life where I really binged wuxias and xianxias so I dived into ‘The Classic of the Mountain and Seas’ right after watching ‘Fighter of the Destiny’ (my first watch from her). And yeah, her characters in both are kinda the same if I’m recalling it right as it has been years since I watched both. Lol. Anyway, her acting doesn’t really bother me that much so finishing 4 series of hers, I guess I can say I do enjoy some of her works despite of course other variables that makes the series uninteresting. But like, I don’t really consider her acting one of the variables why I rate her series lower or higher — it just depends on the factors of how it has come to be.
Oh, do try Twelve Legends! This is subjective but I did find it fun enough to binge-watch it. Kinda dragged in the latter part but her chemistry with Jasper was lit imo.

I feel like people are saying she can’t act because they always see her in the same kind of role where she has to maintain a placid image. It’s sad that something like this has to happen yet again to this show. However, I’ll still continue watching this even though it’ll be awkward to see them as five at first.
