That's good. I always knew tv was good for something, lol. That's very impressive though, it's hard to believe you learned it just from watching english entertainment from the way your write, it's very good. Aww, they should sub them in your language too, but good thing you can understand it in English, so you don't have to miss out on these amazing dramas :D

I've never read anything by him, but he sounds like an interesting author to analyze. It's for a senior year thesis/honors project for a bachelor's (not required, but you graduate with departmental honors, so it looks very good on applications). I'm interested in psychopathology in children and my mentor focuses his research on parenting, so we're doing a correlational study on the relationship between parenting styles and psychopathology in adolescents. I'm still getting my BA, but I'd like to go straight for my Ph.D. next.

Well, the best of luck to you :) Yeah, it's going to be a challenge, but you have to work hard for what you want, so I plan to do so. Yes, I've had many people tell me "oh, the romance author" when I say she's my favorite, but her works were vastly unromantic, but very good nonetheless. While I like most of her works, can't bring myself to like Mansfield Park, my favorites are Persuasion, P&P, and Emma in that order. Yes, Northanger was more comedic than anything else. It was someaht similar to her juvenilia which I really enjoyed. It was very witty, and critical of her society. I don't really like the on-screen adaptations. I've really only seen the more recent makes and none of them seem to quite get it right. Although I did enjoy the Keira Knightly version of P&P before I had read the novel. Afterwards it just felt overly romanticized/sensationalized. Are there any you enjoyed?

Your welcome :D That sounds like fun! A lot of people seem to have started watching dramas through Hana Kimi as well, I guess it's very popular. I was introduced to Taiwanese dramas (It Started With A Kiss was my first) when my friend recommended them, then i eventually found Korean dramas and became addicted, lol.
Wow, your English is very good! How did you learn it?

Yes, I hate that they dubbed it a Romeo and Juliet story, because it is very misleading and has made many people wary of watching it, but it's only a R&J story in as far as the families are rivals aspect. TPM is much more intense and extremely romantic without being mushy, a feat it masters. It takes you on an emotional rollercoaster that is hard to come by.

I used to watch only dramas with happy endings as well, but now I don't really mind sad endings as long as we are prepped for them in advance.

Lol, having a life is overrated anyway, lol.
Thanks for the recommendation, I've had it on my list for a while, but never got around to it. I will one day though, it has Park Shi Hoo :D Which brings me to make a recommendation of my own. The Princess' Man, I noticed it was on your list. When you get a chance, you should definitely give it a go. It is an outstanding drama and I highly recommend it to anyone, but especially for you since you seem to enjoy historical dramas.

Nice to meet you too :D

Ahhh, I knew I recognized him. He looks different in this pic, and yes he is adorable! I loved him in SKKS, but I've never seen Antique Bakery.

Wow, you have a pretty impressive list *goes stalks list*, lol.

Yes, I am. I am absolutely fascinated by the human mind and its inner workings. Oh, how nice! Are you teaching now, or preparing to? I also want to teach in the future, but that's not my main goal, lol. My aim is to have a private practice as well as teach at a university at some point.
DQ is okay so far. I like the premise, but I'll see where it goes with it.
Brit lit! So you must be familiar with Jane Austen then. I adore her, even took an entire course dedicated to her. What is the focus of your thesis? And the best of luck with it. I am also currently working on my senior year thesis.
Yeah, 2012 is right around the corner! Why does it seem like each year is shorter than the previous? Huh, 2012 does seem sci-fi, with all the end-of-the-world films taking place during this year. Well, lets just hope for a healthy, safe new year. In the end, that's all that matters.

That's understandable, but sometimes you find a jewel through a recommendation, so they're not completely hazardous to your viewing experience.
I used to be (and still am to a certain degree) very self-conscious about it, and tried to curb it as well, but at some point, I just decided it is part of who I am, and I shouldn't be trying to alter myself to please others.
I'm studying psychology! And you? What are you studying/studied?

Oh, and I just saw the first episode of DQ!

True! Unfortunately, many good dramas tend to go unnoticed. What I dislike about reading comments is their ability to affect how you later watch a drama.
Haha, my sentiments exactly, but my wordiness is not always appreciated :(
Thank you! I hope you're enjoying/enjoyed (depending on where you are) your Christmas as well :D

Okay, so I'll start with Don Quixote and if I like it, I'll try the others that you've recommended.
Your posts are always welcome, so post away, lol. Thanks for all the recommendations!!

Maybe they will, but I think they're just too busy. One is pre-dental and the other in nursing school so not much time (not that I have much time to spare, but I make time for my dramas, lol). But I told them about TPM and how great it is, so they both want to watch it.
Wow, what an intellectual way to describe your process and thanks I really appreciate you taking the time with your recommendations :)

Ok, I'll give it Don Quixote a chance as my final attempt with J-dramas, sounds interesting and I loved Secret Garden.
Aww, all I meant by that is that you don't really go with whats "hot," instead watching dramas that have a depth to them. Me too, when I was a newbie, I would only watch dramas that were wildly popular and found myself not really enjoying them, so I take a different approach to my picks now.
Thanks, that's sweet! My friends and family always poke fun at my inability to tell a short story, lol. Same here, I'm really enjoying our chats =)
I agree, there many overlaps between them.
