Any anime. I've watched evagelion and I've watched gintama and I liked both. It really doesn't matter as long it is interesting.

Yeah, from what what I've read it has a great twist. Like totally unexpected.

Adaptation from Del Toro? On HBO? Ah I really really need to watch it now. Del Toro rarely dissapoints.

Been noticing you on the feeds too. :) I enjoyed reading your profile introduction, especially the part about Monster. I have had it on my harddrive for months since I like the manga writer, but never got a chance to watch. Maybe I need an anime phase too. Anyway, nice to meet you and thanks for accepting. :)

Slowly been going through it. I think I'll finish them when I'm 90. Eh. I recommend. Zatoichi is really likable and for a chambara series you don't have many gruesome scenes like spurting blood or random and unnecessary rapes. But if you don't feel like wasting your time, you can watch the first movie and the remake and you won't lose much. Every movie has the same plot so far, the yakuza really don't like him so they try to kill them every chance they get; but because the movies are centered around a blind maseusse you get some sort of social commentary. The whole difference between films so far is that with each movie you learn something about him, like a very slow character development in 26 movies. And 19 of them are on hulu so it's easy to watch.:)

Yeah, I think nothing can beat the original. It's a true masterpiece. Alright! Gonna give Miike's Harakiri a try this week. ^^

I also value originality in a drama. :) Especially if it's a romantic comedy. And the Hong Sisters are running out of it. Their characters never break the mold. I'll watch it just for the hype it created. What drama do you have under favorite couple ever? I recognize Song Ji Hyo but I'm kinda lost.

I still got to watch the remake. I'm kinda afraid to watch coz it's Miike and it's a remake. 13 assassins was good but I still can't forget the cgi bulls on fire. But I heard good things. And it has eita and hikari mitsushima together.

Hi. And thanks for accepting it. Don't have a favorite. I'll try anything as long it's good. But I've been watching chambara films lately. Harakiri was an instant favorite. ^^

I think most customs in the movie were invited for the sake of the plot. They may not be factual but are used to represent something. Like the past and hierarchy. As a foreigner, one always lose something in translation. When you watch it, let me know. I loved your review of Not One Less. :)

No, but I plan to when it ends since I read it's getting good. But I still have to watch Master's Sun first.

There are plenty of movies to steal. :) Raise the Red Lantern is a beautiful film, subtle and rich. The cinematography is praiseworthy and you can totally see how Yimou was enamored with Gong Li. I love how the film made me feel so conflicted. It was clearly a story about patriarchy and subjection of women and the brainwashing effect of customs and rules, but I couldn't help getting angry at the female character for going along with it. Until I realized it was a game that need to be played, and you had to play to win or else. It was such a harsh reality. It's clearly a film about China in those days. The house was a jail to the women as the country was. Women are treated as dog the same way the servants are treated as rats and their omnipresent jailer only rewards them if they are nice and docile. And she becomes aware of that and, well, you have to see the film. :)

I'll watch anything once. It's my drama\movies motto. But I do tend to shy away from teen\idol drama or any romcom that sounds cliched. Do you have a preferred genre?
