I also wish the same for him, but this is the sad reality of the chinese industry. The agencies don’t really care about their artists, more like just want to milk them and treat them as cash cows. No matter how popular you are, as long as you’re tied to a company and not your own studio, you don’t really get to choose your scripts—most of the time the company decide for you, whether you like the role or not.
ZLH quite unfortunate also, his company not very strong and cannot really protect him. That’s why a lot of times he is used for promoting other actors, since he doesn’t have strong backing like some others. He really built everything from scratch on his own.
These past few years he’s been working non-stop, hardly even got proper rest. I just hope his contract can end soon and he can move to a better company that can manage him properly… but at the same time, I also don’t really trust these Chinese companies, all got their own hidden agenda.
At least one good thing is more people are starting to notice and appreciate him, and his fandom is growing day by day...that one I’m really happy about.

Honestly, ZLH has been facing this kind of unfair treatment for quite some time already. Only his fans really notice and care, others don’t really bother since it benefits their fave. Those two dramas really didn’t do him justice, the scriptwriters and directors quite disappointing. That’s why they ended up being my least favourite ZLH dramas, even in MJTY also got similar issue.
Worst part is we also cannot really speak up about it, later fans of other actresses will say we’re haters… quite sad honestly.

It's not fully retracted but now more like case-by-case approval. The only time a drama can go beyond 40 episodes is if the story is super complex or the production quality justifies it. Otherwise, the norm still stays at 40 because the cdrama industry still wants to water down dramas...
