This is so true! On a positive note I'm glad they didn't drag it out too long, kept it realistic and gave the respective actor the lines/presence to act in the drama.

These two really understand, respect and love the characters that they've played and it shows with their responses. I wish there was a director's cut version of this drama and all the BTS, can't get enough of them

Yes! I appreciate seeing his POV because the novel is more from WYF's POV (if I'm remembering correctly) and considering BJT is an actor of micro expressions/eye contact all the "silent" scenes are such a treat, like the easter egg at the end of episode 5 😂 when he's helping her win the game. I hope they don't expand on the plot line of Xiang Lang's character either, in the novel I don't remember him being a significant character or hinting at an unrequited love...am I remembering this right?

If it's your average drama yes, but imagine a 20 episode kdrama like Vincenzo!

I've read both the manhua and the novel (probably going to start rereading soon)! I'm definitely noticing those who have read the source material are getting a better watch value. My love for the novel and manhua is definitely there but the easter eggs in this drama are just as special. Things like how SY went back to the WYF's old apartment to beat up the trash bags and make sure there weren't any hidden cameras was *chef's kiss*

I was literally listening to Midnight Rain the other day and wondering if someone is going to create an edit for Sang Yan and Yifan because it's so fitting!

Just when you think the storytelling and the character of Sang Yan couldn't get any better they find more ways to make everything more meaningful. I'm so happy fans are writing about these moments. I imagine the rewatch value for this drama is going to be insane, there is so m any little moments to rewatch and understand.

I agree both of their experiences have built their respective characters. Sang Yan's is a little less discussed so I appreciate you bringing this up. There is something is so respectful about a man who is aware of people's boundaries and is still able to put a considerable amount of effort to show his love. I also like that he's not resentful and bitter, both towards his own feelings and the love he has for Yifan.
