I didn't expect my heart to break all over again today. It's been breaking since the week leading up to the express episodes but it broke all over again.
I used to think waiting for The First Frost drama to go live was painful but the last day of telecast is devastating.
I really hope they do something with all the deleted scenes and create a special episode. The First Frost universe is too big for it to end like this.
Does anyone know if Nan Hong (movie version of First Frost) has any chances of getting the same cast as the drama adaptation?
It's devastating, today is really the last day, no more extra contents from them. I am working on translating…
Do you have the Reuters of this scene? There is so much BTS/Reuters out there I wish it could be organized into a video or a discussion thread where everyone can experience this universe from the beginning.
Going through X, I realized today is the last day of telecast, meaning no new bts or scenes to keep us going.…
I teared up reading this.
Those who have experienced First Frost in some medium whether it was the novel, manhua or drama adaptation, know how transformational and timeless this story is. To have characters that are loved in every universe, timeline and era is so rare to come across.
First Frost became the reason why some became a first of something for the first time. Some became MDL users, some became editors, some novel readers - the list goes on. I hope this first continues to be a joyful experience for everyone going forward.
I imagine Sang Yan and Shuangjiang telling us:
"Treat yourself well, and the world will hold more love for you."
While Sang Yan and Shuangjiang live their happily ever after I hope to see BJT and ZRN together again with the right project.
all the episodes were out by 12pm but I kept stalling and watching slowly, now it's 2am and I have two episodes…
If it makes you feel better I'm like 10 episodes behind. I was overwhelmed by the fact that this drama was ending this past weekend and now the weekend is already done. I want to see all the deleted scenes, BTS, interviews...etc
They opened a whole universe to us and I'm still taking in the experience...
I usually leave lengthy comments here whenever I finished watching an episode of this drama, but for some reason…
Take the time you need to review, savor and cherish First Frost and its place in your heart. I don't think I'll be able to finish the drama overnight, this is hard. I'm literally tearing up writing this...
I'm having a hard time typing the words I'm feeling because it's going to make all this all too real...
I can't believe how a few years ago we were still waiting for the cast confirmation, to then see the start/end of filming, to connecting the Reuters to the novel/manhua scenes, to the release of the teaser, to the review passing (only to need a second review), to receiving the distribution license, to waiting for the release date, to celebrating the reservation milestones before the drama even started to now celebrating the finale and success of First Frost and it's beloved characters Sang Yan and Wen Shuang Jiang.
What a journey.
It feels like I'm saying goodbye letter to my youth and my first love but hopefully not all the wonderful friendships we've made here.
Sang Yan and Wen Shuang Jiang your unwavering love will always be a timeless example of what it means to be loved and cherished.
I needed this laugh π there is so much to unpack with this drama and these two characters. This comment section has been going nonstop for the past 24+ hours
I love both the drama and the novel version of the first frost. I really like how compelling the storyline is.…
We went from counting hours down for each episode to counting almost 48 hours before the show ends, unreal π I'm going to miss these two characters so much
if you really understand wen yifanβs character as an individual and not just for her relationship with sang…
I think to understand both of their characters it's important to see both Sang Yan and Yifan as individuals and then their relationships with themselves, their loved ones and ultimately towards each other. These characters couldn't be anymore raw and loved.
Interview of Bai Jingting and Zhang Ruonan talking about their characters 'Sang Yan & Wen Yi Fan' has been subbed.…
The character development for these two characters is unmatched, especially for a modern drama. I'm so grateful BJT and ZRN got casted for the roles of Sang Yan and Wen Yifan respectively. I can't see anyone else doing justice to these characters the way they did.
Wen Yifan is such a well-written character, and I think some people misunderstand her actions because they expect…
So well said! That one of my early concerns in the show that Yifan might be forced to "be strong" according to what the audience considers strong and empowering today. The way trauma looks different for person to person, strength, healing and growth also look different. We still have a handful of episodes left so I'm excited to see where healing and growth takes both Sang Yan and Yifan.
as much as im gonna miss this drama when it finishes what im gonna miss even more is the sense of companionship…
You'll definitely see people camping and commenting here for a bit. There is so much to take in for the last 10 episodes. A part of me feels like I'll need the 3 day break to process/talk about all the episodes and the other part of me wants to express the last set of episodes πππ
One of the best analysis that needs to go down in the books. People need to remember before Yifan started "running away" she was pushed around between several homes. Home is a place where a child should be feel safe at minimum but instead Yifan has felt every bit of toxicity that should have never crossed the boundaries of a teenager. She barely escaped the worst of it at the cost of injuring her ankle and if that wasn't enough her mother took the last bit that was left of Yifan's voice and youth in that incident. Yifan was probably the most independently expressive and confident when she danced. When her mother wanted to stop paying for her lessons, then her studio space to practice - she had already started chipping off the last bit of left of Yifan's voice. Yifan tried making it work with her mom. She tried speaking up, reasoning, compromising, begging and even tolerating doom until 3 AM night after night to make her way to freedom but she that night she knew even that was not going to be enough. This is the same thing she felt when she saw what CXD did at Overtime - he wasn't going to stop, her mother was bent on being blind and the person who was encouraging to bring her voice back was potentially in danger because of CXD's choice to target her and worst of all - maybe she wasn't even worth it...? My heart goes out to Yifan. This is no easy way out of this but if patience allows Yifan to ultimately deal I'm so glad she has Sang Yan and her friends by her side who meet her at her pace.

This is not a goodbye but a see you soon.
How did we go from waiting for years to hours to minutes to seconds to an ending?
