You asked how the country folks would view gay men, and I thought of an interview with the director of "God's…
I had no idea about that. I really loved the film and read the book. I watched a lot of press interviews and film panels with them and the director and none of that came out. What a shame they had to be like that. The fact that they were touted for their portrayals seems wrong now.
LOL, Yechan has no game. Everything shows on his face. He is sweet, straight forward and completely himself. He lightens Sun Yeol up. I really like Do Jin, but I kind of wonder what the guy who played Milk, in Choco Milk Shake would have done with the part. He is massive and might have physically fit the part more. But Do Jim needs to wear sleeveless shirts for the rest of series, please. He looks great in them. I love the accepting white farmer friend and already hate the city boyfriend coming to town.

Andre Aciman, a straight man actually wrote the novel, Call Me By Your Name that they based the movie on. I was amazed at how beautifully he wrote a gay love story, but love is universal. I wasn’t aware of a cut sex scene and thought they actually did a pretty good job with it. If Ivory didn’t like the film, I wonder if he and the director had issues, as the director is also gay and I guess was ok with the end result.
The role of Pisaeng is really well-written and acted. It's unusual and special,
Lol. I thought he couldn’t look hotter than he did in Not Me, but he looks even better in this. Though the chemistry he had with First in that was incredible. So far in this one he’s bringing all the heat with them.
I think the reason Krist has been so good in the role so far is because he’s playing a straight guy who likes the girl and is clueless that the guy likes him. He doesn’t have those feelings for Pisaeng yet. I’m curious to see if he can be as good in the role when he starts to be attracted to him. Gawin is crushing his part so far and his confidence portraying his attraction to and feelings for Kawi and in that kiss is great. I hope Krist can match his commitment to their romance when the time comes and really show a man realizing he’s in love with his best friend. I like that they’re giving Pisaeng some dimension and he’s not just some cardboard cut out character. This was a good building episode.
So she seriously invited herself to cook with them? That’s sad and desperate. And then she’s mad when he’s not interested, but she’s still going after him? Souta and Mahiro’s failure to really talk and clear things up is maddening. Then Souta trying to date her for real is just stupid. The situation is meant to torture us with the misunderstandings just piling up. Their behavior makes no sense to me and it makes me angry.
This could have been really good. There was a compelling story to be made. But it didn’t come through. It was choppy and didn’t flow that well. It tried, but didn’t get there.
This is totally cute so far. They’re well cast. YC is an adorable, open goof and SY is an uptight, city guy. And who knew Shia LaBeouf did KBL’s? Lol. Can’t wait to see where this goes.
