The direction of season 2 was a letdown...
Watching season 2 of weak hero made me realize how good season 1 was. This doesn't necessarily mean that season 2 was bad. On the contrary, I finished all 8 episodes relatively quickly. What I mean is, I feel that the direction weak hero headed after being acquired by Netflix jarringly diverged from the original path season 1 traversed, which was a massive bummer. Season 2 felt more like a standard Netflix kdrama, complete with a bubbly character and some cliche scenes. Season 1 felt whole and immersive, especially in terms of its action scenes, while season 2, in my opinion, felt stereotypical and lacking. At least Park Ji Hoon remained true to his performance in season 1.Overall, a good watch, but I hope the original and unique essence of weak hero comes back next season.
