I always discuss it with my mom. We talked about the dramas together. This has been the routine since I was 9 until now I'm 34. That's why we always watch drama together. I will watch dramas my mom like with her, and I will watch the dramas my dad like with him.
But my mom is the type who likes to watch and then forget it the next second she turns off the TV, unless it's something that's stuck with her and she likes it a lot. So our discussion is during the time the episode played on the TV.

I'm also not a het novel reader (I have my own preferences) so I don't read the novel. That's why I don't understand why the characters do what they did.
For your second ideas, I think it's more than too much. It's like she never doubted him. I was baffled. But I guess that's just me trying to being logical.
I will always be the minority when it comes to the Xianxia drama, and this one is no different. Again, I hold no content toward any of the actors/actresses, what I review is their characters in the drama, and their performance to convince me on whether they're a good fit for the characters or not.
Plot (6.5/10) People would say, "You don't understand the plot!", and this might be true. I might be that girl who is just too stupid to understand the big reveal in the Xianxia plot, hence I never really like them. But I clearly love Nirvana in Fire to the bits, where I have to think alongside the characters instead of just being fed up with the materials that makes no sense. Reviving Shi Ying took efforts like crazy, and reviving Zhu Yan is like, put him on the pond and he's revived! Yay! Can we please be consistent at least on one thing?
I still don't get the main story of the drama, even when I watched it until the end. I have VIP in WeTv and I'm not spending my money to buy the express version, and I would not buy it for my mom. So I waited until the VIP is released, and I might be a little bit behind than others. I do have to wait for several days before the express content is no longer locked behind the paywall. I have to say that I'm glad I don't even use my money to buy the express.
The Xianxia and their love for open ending. It's like there's a rule: If it's Xianxia, there should be no BE or HE, there's only 1 answer, it's open ending!
Even though the plot was nonsensical, I wished that the ending at least makes more sense. Apparently, it did not.
Characters (6/10) Female lead: I was still on my opinion that this character is badly written. She has a lot of bad decision-making capability, and every one of them is making the people around her suffer. I don't know anymore, why do people like her? She's almost like all the female lead in the Xianxia drama, the annoying type that talks too much and being too kind, so kind it attracts trouble. I thought she redeemed herself, but then she made more error in her decision-making.
Male lead 1 (Shi Ying): I have a hard time connecting to his character. He was the aloof teacher in the beginning, passionate lover in the middle, the person with amnesia near the end, and then he's just a tragic hero at the very end. Well, I guess at least he's pretty so my eyes are cleansed.
Male lead 2 (Zhi Yuan): Obsessed ex-boyfriend, that's the title I would give to this person if I have to introduce him or talk about him. He has almost the same facial expression, which is either frowning or frowning even deeper. I get it that he loves his dead girlfriend so much, but being obsessed until he becomes evil because of it just takes annoying to another level. I am least invested in his character among the 3 leads.
Production (7.8/10) In overall, I can sum it up as "Gorgeous". I love the gorgeous music, it sounds really really really nice. It's kinda give me the feeling of "ethereal". The set is also really amazing. I think most of the set is using the real set, so it looks even better. I was mesmerized by the set, it looks so good.
The costume is still the standard Xianxia drama. Most of them is so pastel it blends with the background. They did have colourful clothes, but it's back again to the usual red and black. It's like the production of Xianxia drama has this agreement, that there's this special tone used for Xianxia and no one should use other colour palette.
Overall score for me is 6.5/10. Definitely not the worst, but also not the best either. This is a score given by someone who doesn't like Xianxia, so my score should not affect those who like this genre and most likely be open with all the tropes that annoyed me the most in the drama. I was not hating it, but I also don't like it that much either. It's just average to me.
Sorry I looked at your watched list, I can see this is your 1st time watching xianxia drama, n I understand why…
I would argue that Word of Honour is most likely Wuxia, since the base of the novel is Wuxia. It's not Xianxia.
I didn't watch Legend of Yunxi. I actually prefer the modern drama more than the ancient setting. There are those that I like, but it's very little. The ones I like: Nirvana in Fire and The Blood of Youth. I mostly like the politics and the wuxia aspect. The Untamed was okay, but I like the novel more since it has more complex storytelling and I'm more of a novel reader than drama watcher.
Sorry I looked at your watched list, I can see this is your 1st time watching xianxia drama, n I understand why…
High rating drama in MDL sometimes quite overrated. I watch drama if I like the summary or I'm interested in any of the characters.
The Untamed was okay. I like it, but not love it. I do like the novel more.
I'm watching too many Xianxia because my mom really really like this kind of genre. Most of the time, it's about the characters that are not appealing more than the time needed to reveal the plot.
Sorry I looked at your watched list, I can see this is your 1st time watching xianxia drama, n I understand why…
I think Journey of Flower should be the start of the rage in Xianxia? Though it becomes so popular after Ten Miles in 2017 and Ashes of Love in 2018. Ten Miles is also the drama that make Yangmi so so so popular.
Yeah, I never like Xianxia so I only watch what my mom watched.
Sorry I looked at your watched list, I can see this is your 1st time watching xianxia drama, n I understand why…
It's not like I hate Xianxia, but most of the time it's about the people with pretty faces fall in love with each other in the most nonsensical way. Like The Longest Promise, while I love Xiao Zhan, but his character kinda 2D and I can't get why the girl like him. It's also the same for the female lead, with superficial nature, and I don't even know why the boys like her.
Sorry I looked at your watched list, I can see this is your 1st time watching xianxia drama, n I understand why…
Xianxia is mostly about fantastical story of the beast, immortals, and the human realm. It will be revolved around this area, and if you don't like it, just like me, then I doubt you will be able to love this genre. Most of the story will be the same with some tweaking here and there, but it's mostly just about this story throughout the entire plot.
I watched the most highly regarded Xianxia, like Ashes of Love and Ten Miles of Peach Blossom, but I can't say I love it like some people do. My mom do love it though, and that's also the reason why I started watching them in the first place. But Xianxia was never my favourite genre. No matter who played in them or what kind of plot they have, I always found myself getting bored of Xianxia type.
I think that Ashes of Love and Ten Miles of Peach Blossom will be a good start in Xianxia, if you really wanted to dive deep into them. The other one that's quite good is Love and Redemption, Other than those, the rest might not be as good.
zhu yan has literally known zhi yuan since she was young and we can see they have a really close bond. on the…
That's also the weird thing about this drama. Shi Ying is so sure that Zhi Yuan is bad. Like, why? Because he got info that oh yes, he's so bad? Then let's not do the fact checking and just believe it. Like, the logic is not there for these people.
Like when Shi Ying confronts Zhu Yan and told her about the reason why he needs to kill Zhi Yuan. Instead of asking him where he got this info and to try to handle it maturely, she just go and block his sword. Like, before you go at least get information why Shi Ying behaves like that?
I mean, if I'm Zhu Yan, and my teacher continuously telling me that this Zhi Yuan guy is bad because he's that whatever emperor, then I would go and ask or at least try to understand why he had this behaviour. Logical person will do that instead of charging around like a useless puppy.
But I guess, like the people in the comment above said, I'm just that stupid and miss the important story of this drama. I watched it because my mom watched it. And when I do ask her what's happening, she also don't really know anyway. I also watched it but I also got confused, so I guess it's not for me. But I still have to watch it because my mom watched it.
The story started slowly but if you can't understand the story till now then i will suggest you to not watch it…
Yes, I don't understand. But instead of asking me to read the novel, at least provide me with the information on why she did what she did.
And as I mentioned, I am forced to watch it because my mom watch it. She watched it in the living room, where we all share the same TV. What choice do I have? Tell my mom not to watch it?

I think this drama can be described with these words: Zhu Yan to Shi Ying: Get the information from others, without asking Shi Ying, started to doubt him for no apparent reason.
Zhu Yan to Zhi Yuan: Get the information from others, and sometimes even from Shi Ying himself, never doubt him. "I believe in him!"
Yeah, talk about double standards.
What frustrates me is that, if Zhu Yan can believe in Zhi Yuan and ASK him to clarify things, then why not with Shi Ying? What's the purpose of making Zhu Yan becomes stupid when it comes to Shi Ying? To create conflict? If yes, then such a cheap way of doing this.
Honestly, by around episode 5 I'm already fed up by this drama. But my mom continues to watch this, so I am forced to watch as well. Even up to this point (to eps 25), I don't even understand what's the point of this drama honestly.
I love Xiao Zhan as an actor, but he is just not cutting it in this drama. Or maybe that's just me.
I'm living for these episodes. It's the best Our Skyy 2 so far, above the league of everyone else.
I'm a die hard fan of The Eclipse, but the cross-over between Bad Buddy and Thousands Stars just brilliant. It was fun, full of laughter, and also seamlessly integrated with each other.
Phupha and Tian bickering like old married couple is the highlight of the show. I live for them pouting at each other in one scene, then making moony eyes on each other the next. Drunken Tian is a flirty Tian, and I want to have more drunken Tian!
The best scene in this episode? Pat's flirty line: Do you think the house can withstand the shake? I never screamed so loud in my life!
People are just overreacting again. Nothing happened. The video was recorded almost 3 months ago and was edited…
Whatever happened behind the screen, let it be the secret behind the scene. We accepted what was being shown on screen, and from what I see, I am happy.
People are just overreacting again. Nothing happened. The video was recorded almost 3 months ago and was edited…
In reality, many actors/actresses have to play with someone they might not even like, play with their enemies, etc. It's the cruel reality of the entertainment industry. You can't just say you don't like your cast mates and ask for them to be replaced by someone else. As long a you work in the entertainment industry, there will be times when they have to work with people they don't like.
People are just overreacting again. Nothing happened. The video was recorded almost 3 months ago and was edited…
I also don't understand why actors can't play with the people they don't like. They have contract and obligations, and they will need to fulfill that obligations as the actor hired to act in the drama.
Watching the Bad Buddy parts, I can safely say that the only disappointment I have towards Our Skyy 2 is from the My School President team. Which is ironic, since they're the biggest success this year.
Bad Buddy showed the meaning of being power couple, and also the convincing act of playing their characters, even after long time had passed. The chemistry between Pat and Pran become more mature, and the story, while still very cute, retains the spirit of the original story. The story was simple, and yet they make it so fun, full of laughter, and also original, not a rehash of the old situation. They're enemies, yet they're also boyfriends, and this strange dynamics is what make us love the story even more. Fainting Phupha at the end is just an added bonus that I welcome with open arms. I laughed so hard at that part, and I definitely woke up my parents, and got scolded because of it. But it was so worth it. Phupha being fragile? Bring me on!
This also showed that storytelling don't have to be super genius or super creative. All teams in Our Skyy showed us at least some kind of progression or at least original story for their characters, while the My School President stuck in the past. I still retain to my original comment, that while the multiverse is fun and cute, but it brings nothing to the table. It's not even memorable enough.
Someone told me that I should not expect continuation from Our Skyy 2 story, and I never ask for continuation. I wanted something new, something original, that they could give to us. It showed that they care about their audience, that at least they're thinking about what they could share to the viewers. Bad Buddy parts showed that they can go back to their university days, and they're able to create a completely original story. They even incorporate the story of Thousand Stars in a way that's so seamless I never once thought they're not in the same universe. This is the multi-verse or alternate universe done right.
But my mom is the type who likes to watch and then forget it the next second she turns off the TV, unless it's something that's stuck with her and she likes it a lot. So our discussion is during the time the episode played on the TV.
