Because the story is set in China, they had to change some of the dress code. The did keep Sai's outfit(which was also requested by the Japanese team). But you can tell from the drama, that the people involved wanted to respect the source material and truly cared for it.

I think the core aspect of the drama is to see the fun of go and the reality around it. If they tried to follow the hair style of the manga/anime it would look more like a comedy rather than a slice of life.

Jony J is definitely the most out of place mentor compared to the other mentors. However over the show you can slowly start to see that he gains an appreciation for idol group and actually admires their work ethic. You can see even in the final episode where he is about to cry for some of the trainees.

In addition, during the first stage performance, there are 2 rapping group that are comedic gold which you should just watch for the comedy!

the interesting thing is that the original content(the manhua) actually follows the drama better. The anime decided to go off on its own story(I also agree that the anime was better in terms of story)

yeah, in the end this is a drama so i dont have high expectation for accuracy. i usually do not care as detailed as this but because this is centered as a slice of life romance drama. i had higher expectation for the slice of life portion.

for me, slice of life means you can see how the drama slightly mimics your own life and emotions. however, in this drama the actors in the drama just felt completely unrelateble and boring

i am also confused why this drama has such a high rating

For me as someone who has worked in software engineering, even with a large sum of investment money, it is almost impossible to get a company that large and big just out of college. It would take years of industry experience. Assuming he was a genius(for example, Zuckerburg), the first office is still not that nice.

Wei Wei and all of her friends were completely incompetent not just in computer science but in general life. It would have been nice if they opened a book or maybe do homework instead of playing video games for like every waking moment.

When I was in school for CS, one of my fondest memories were doing problem sets with classmates and interacting with them. I wished they showed something like that instead of everyone just conjuring for games or when the startup company was in crisis.

If you want a drama where absolutely nothing happens! This is the drama for you!
I really did not understand how incompetent the "computer science" majors were. The show basically says if you are good at video games you are good at computer science. When the group of friends goes to an interview with a video game company, they are surprised that the company expected them to understand or have basic knowledge of the game, SHOCKER! In addition, one of the English major characters was basically saying if you are a computer science major you can also use photoshop. Next, where did the main lead get enough money to run a whole startup? Assuming he is receiving investment money, his company is nowhere in the scale they need a whole redesigned office with 80% empty space. They should invest in the people instead. If they drama was going to center the drama with 2 computer science leads, make them at least 2 % believabel

I think they really need to learn about what comp sci major ppl do.

If anyone is interested in watching Ariel Lin and Joe Cheng(the main actors), they are currently on a Chinese variety racing show called Race The World(非凡搭档). Basically a bunch of famous people in China randomly pair up for 2 weeks and they race around the world. Pretty fun show to watch when you are waiting for you dramas.

btw, I love this drama

I personally like the taiwanese version. I first watched the anime then the taiwanese version(since I am fluent in mandarin), then parts of the korean and japanese. I love the chemistry between the two main characters

The author of the original source(manga) passed away while she was writing it(it ended when the female lead learned she was pregnant). The anime continued the story because the author's husband found scripts of the story and allowed the anime production crew to use the to help finish the story.
Since the second season started in 2007, and the anime was released in 2008, they was no official ending to the dramas(but most drama end when she finds out she pregnant)

SO just clearing everything up, since i know chinese. Most of the series is following Ariel around singapore since its like a commercial. Bolin most likely has a stand in at the end of the movie(we only a silhouette of "Bolin"), other than that its all just flashbacks
But it was a really nice addition to the drama, asking the question so "what happens when the sparks are gone?"

I personally thought it started with a kiss would of been higher because the are only above average looking, yet they had the best chemistry
