I agree they showed have filmed a rescuing army for Duke Su. He could’ve been making his last stand and pans to another army come to be reinforcements for him. If they didn’t kill of Wen Ji and Lu Ji they could’ve had had stand up with him and do the three of them back to back again with the necklace hanging from Duke Su’s lips too.

I saw the ending as Duke Su riding the horse to XFF. It is his voice even though his face is zoomed out. I see it as the director’s stylistic choice. XFF could’ve had a bigger smile at the end. It would’ve been great to see them embrace together underneath their tree at the end. I enjoyed the bonus scenes.
I don’t want to think too much of the ending. He was riding his horse back to her and that was his promise. They also had bonus scenes of their happy domestic life.

I felt really bad for him. He couldn’t protect his tow older daughters or his first wife. I saw him both as caring for XFF as a way of giving JL the love that he couldn’t give her, plus I feel that he started to relay care for XFF for herself too.

He did promise her that he will come back victorious when the flowers on their tree bloomed. So he kept his promise.

XFF probably figured that since Wanning and SYR have that kind of relationship Wanning being pregnant isn’t unreasonable. It’s always interesting to me how in Chinese rams one can take some medicine and it works like a charm . It can’t be all 100% effective at prevention. And I agree XFF did not know likely all that Wanning suffered.

I feel bad for Wanning but what happened to her does not excuse her actions today. Yes she needs therapy. She probably never has felt real love either from anyone. Growing up in the palace must have not been easy either. She is a tragic character but still evil.
XFF’s justice seeking actions are justified. I see XFF as seeking justice more so than revenge because she isn’t harming innocents and she isn’t underhanded in what she does, and her tactics are not evil. If those people did not first do something shady than they would not have fallen into her traps.

I think that it is very sad for both of them. The truth should be told, but how devastated would her brother be when he finds out what happened to the girl that he likes. She probably doesn’t have the heart to tell her brother now.

He was trying to hold her to get her to listen to him but he started to try to kiss her neck so who knows how far he would’ve tried to go if he wasn’t hit by YSJ.

Since he hit SYR with a pole he probably overheard part of their conversation. He probably didn’t feel comfortable since JL and SYR were gone so he went to go make sure that JL was okay. Plus XFF’s dad is at his house and he can tell how important he is to her. There are hints there but he probably didn’t know know until he overheard.

I was writing in regards to the shippers, who want the FL to be with her ex. I do not see from the FL’s perspective of her ever forgiving him, let alone trusting him again for them to even be together. I do not support that ship because of how toxic the ex is. His actions were despicable, and in the trailer where he grabs on to her he has no right.
The healthiest relationship for the FL of course if with the ML.She can truly be herself with him.

Yes everything that he did was despicable . Even if you loved something whole heartily how can one forgive someone who hurt, abused, betrayed, etc them like that? He is also two faced saying one thing to the princess and possibly feeling something else. How can the FL forgive him and trust him anymore? What reason can he give that shoes that he deserve forgiveness and trust from her?
He’s a weak man that can be swayed easily by his mother, princess or threat. I don’t see the FL going back to someone like that and her father and brother would never stand for it.
Trading the life of one’s wife and in-laws for power so one can avenge one’s father is wrong. He is no longer that upright, moral scholar that he wanted to before, he has betrayed himself too. He has a long way to go to redeem himself, if he even wants to. As a woman especially you cannot trust someone like that.

It seems more acceptable if cousins are on the maternal side to get married. Maybe because when a daughter marries out she is considered part of her husband’s family.

For what it is worth, Jian Yuan Bai has blocked L’s from a sword twice. He is a negligent father but I see some redeeming qualities in him . He does step up when the need arises for her. It is sad that he is doing it all for XFF and his JL is long gone.

It’s interesting because the youku youtube trailers show different scenes than the youku website. Yes the scenes are misleading .

From watching Chinese dreams this seems like the most extreme punishment. I can be wrong though.
Personally I think that with hoe intelligence of the ML and the FL that giving up the Dragon army is just a ploy to make the Princess think that she and her brother can win if they have an uprising.

I do not want to see Jiang Yuan Bai dead. he is grieving too his world came crashing down. He just realized that his “perfect” second wife caused the death of his first wife, and oldest daughter and that she is cruel and all of her other crimes. His 3rd daughter is grieving too so since his second daughter JL isn’t too happy with him he is trying to make up being a father to his other daughter who is probably more willing to be around him. he isn’t the best dad but he does not deserve to die. Time will tell on how he makes it up to JL.
