in my life, i hate being threatend the most
The drama started off strong, with a powerful and clever ML and an equally compelling FL. The first few episodes did a great job of establishing the characters’ personalities and their relationships. Unfortunately, as the story progressed, the pacing slowed down significantly. The grandmother’s storyline was the biggest disappointment for me—it was the main reason the plot took such a downturn. Toward the end, the sudden focus on the ML’s family problems felt unnecessary and out of place, especially so close to the finale. What I did enjoy was the development of the Rong sisters. Watching them finally learn to understand each other, rather than constantly opposing the FL and blindly following the grandmother, was satisfying (special shoutout to Yunxi!). Still, I couldn’t stand how much influence the grandmother continued to hold over everyone.
On the positive side, the acting and cinematography were impressive. This was my first time watching a drama with this FL and ML, and I was captivated by the ML’s striking, foxy eyes and the FL’s bold, badass moments. However, despite those highlights, the slow pacing and frustrating plot choices made it too dull overall. I wouldn’t rewatch it.
