Per my understanding this dancing stuff is out of his comfort zone, so he seem a little awkward here, but a promise is a promise, kudo to him :-D The blooper at the end, he twisted his neck.

I can see why original actress doesn't want to take on this part. At least for the first few eps I watched, FL is pursuing the ML, role is reversed from season 1, she's stalking him now. This may not be a role she likes to portray, plus she's at a position to take on better project. Just my own analysis.

Just saw this interview with the actress of Lin Bei Xing, she noted most girl would like a Guardian Knight like Zhang Wan Sen and through the process the character grew from escape life to face life, work hard and get better. The one thing she really would like to do is tell Zhang Wan Sen that she likes him. Likely refers to in reality timeline she didn't get to say that.

The interview is fragmented due to FAQ format, not enough about the story I thought. But my own analysis of the character is that she was heavily invested in the relationship with Zhan Yu so when things didn't work out, she was devasted and choose to escape when possible. But in escaped to parallel universe, she realized she wasn't the only one that's giving in a relationship, in fact she was the recipient of that giving and unconditional love (since to his death she didn't even know this person well), she fell for him. People talked about emotional tank, she invested her emotion in a relationship that betrayed her, but found to received way more than expected, which gave her the strength to move on and it'll be treasure she held on. "Once there was a guardian knight that fought to his death for me."

This was a pleasant surprise, I thought it'll be slow, well it is, but in a very soothing and captivating way. Not boring at all, I binge watch however many eps I can watch at one shot. And now daily I'm waiting for the eps to come out. I'm usually not into these slow burn / slice of life show, my pace is more like Vagabond, action type, but something is making me glue to this :-D Scenery and OST all very good, is this a promo video for Dali because now I want to visit this area.

Good point, I thought it was because she was sore from the kungfu combat. But ML wouldn't have know that. So it made more sense it was about FL's family's divorced background. Don't think it's unreasonable situation, most people are open minded here in US, but my actual experience with my in law from China, they too worried about my parent's divorce and almost didn't give us the blessing.

She's too caught up in achieving her goal, so she thought she's sacrificing for her goal, but in the end these actions won't get her there. She's realizing that end of ep20 with ML's sticky "How you treat yourself is how you invite the world to treat you." If she allows others to order her around, then it's her own fault as her actions invites that kind of attitude. This is actually speaking to myself as well, I worked so hard for my company as well, I lost my health for work, was it really worth it?

Unfortunately in China, actors come from different part of China and carry with them the accent of their local dialect. It's like asking a thick southern accent actor to portray a new yorker. Yes, it's best to cast a new yorker for the new yorker role, what if for various reasons that's not preferred? Then dubbing is needed. That said, in the end I am with you, I hope dubbing won't be so prevalent.

So this drama is "interesting", not sure I want to start after reading some comments. The 24 eps version (on Netflix), FL ended up with ML Rain. In the 68 eps version, FL ended up with 2nd ML. Rumor has it, the show spent lots of money to get Rain to join this project and he was supposed to end up with FL, however, 2nd ML was too good to FL that many Chinese audiences highly request FL end up with 2nd ML and so show changed the original intent. This type of plot twist doesn't help the show, in the end, it's all over the place. Editing 68 eps to 24 eps to cater to international viewers and leave 68 eps version for China viewers just didn't work out. This flip flop directions just made it illogical and upsetting. Probably the best of both world would be watch the 68 eps version but imagine ML Rain didn't leave so suddenly at the end, it didn't make sense anyway.

Sorry I can't find any English translation. But you can use Google Translate plugin and translate the page. Not great translation, but you can somewhat follow the storyline. A word of warning, the author writes with intent to male audience, so ML is involved with several women. I read the novel and was excited to find this drama, but it truly disappoint Story is changed dramatically, only some premises are left, like contract marriage, building intrusion (though he successfully drove out the intruder). He's supposed to be a well known special ops, highly trained individual., but got beat up so easily? And this PTSD thing was totally added. Anyway, I couldn't watch beyond 2-3 eps. Maybe for non-book fan, it'll be ok? I would recommend the novel though, 老婆爱上我 by 傲无常.

The rating for this series on douban is pretty low, 5/10 while here MDL 8/10 and Viki 9/10. Many complaint about FL (Teresa Li) bad acting and not expressive, so the director may replace her in season 2. Personally I thought she did a pretty good job, I like her interaction with ML. Plus as a fallen kingdom princess she's supposed to be lethargic (and that's how it's portray in the novel too). It'll be really awkward to change actress in the middle of the story, I would really against such decision.
