OKAY I HAVE TO RANT ABOUT THIS MOVIE BECAUSE WHAT WAS THIS???
So i gave this a chance because some people were saying how good it was despite being cliche. I LOOOVVEEE me some cliche movies. Like I love stupid, cringy, cheesy MLs that do sweet things. However, this was just bad im sorry.
First of all, I knew I wasn't going to like it when the pacing was super fast. Literally within the first 10 mins, the FL was confessing her love for this boy. I get that in flashbacks, we see that she already liked him for a bit. However, the flashbacks lasted a minute at most lol. There was no story build up or character build up or anything!
The only part that touched my heart was when she threw a bday part for him knowing it was her bday as well. That was super kind of her, & she's definitely a good character!
But this was written so poorly! I feel like they were trying to copy the movie "A Walk To Remember" which follows the same premise but in reverse & the ending isn't happy in that one. But it didn't work here because I'm pretty sure the students in walk to remember were graduating so the shotgun wedding at the end made sense! Plus, they told the story well and the pacing was perfect. We got to see the boy by her side doing things to make her happy before they got married.
In this one, it seemed like the shotgun wedding was LITERALLY shotgun. One minute, he's crying saying he doesn't want to ruin her future & the next, his friend MAGICALLY has him in a whole suit with a corsage & the FL is suddenly in a full blown wedding dress with flowers. Like WHAT??? THEY'RE HIGHSCHOOLERS. Like it would've been kinda cute if they were like on a rooftop and proposed with ring pops or something but that? Was just super weird.
Anyways, it definitely is a pretty "fluffy" movie as in you wont find much angst or storytelling. It's really just this girl being head over heels for this guy & vice versa. But also both of them are kinda corny. IDK, I normally don't hate movies like this but this was just horribly paced.
so i dropped this back when it first started airing because i didn't like that the FL agreed to marry lou yao. I'm someone who likes "loyal" romances where the leads love each other only, even at the beginning. (basically I like when dramas focus on the main leads love story & doesn't try to add another guy or girl that a lead loved first) But I guess this is a "slow burn" romance, which I usually dislike but I have NOTHING else to watch so i'm deciding that i'll give this another try.
I love historical dramas & I just got done re-watching love & redemption for the 4th time so i definitely wanna see another good story. I will come back here & update on whether ill be dropping it again or if I like the show! I'll just fast forward through the lou yao marriage talk!
So appararently this has been on my "completed" list for 3 years. I swear I never finished it, but I know the…
im dropping it for now because my heart cant take anymore of the melodrama in the later episodes, but there's one thing I really don't like. Why do kdrama writers always make these FL characters OBSESSED with the MLs. Like I get really liking someone & not wanting to let them go, especially if its been a few years. But our FL only knew the ML for less than 3 months and she was literally trying to scale the side of their apartment building to get to his room, just because she wanted to see him. 😠like what goes on?
at some point, its not cute anymore but SCARY. Like I get if she was doing that for a guy she loved for years (still kinda weird) but 2 MONTHS? Girl, STAND UP. Banging on his door, switching outfits and barging in so he would notice her, tagging along to the store when he clearly told her he wanted to go alone... like I felt like it didn't make sense for her character. Especially since she was this super confident & prideful actress. IDK, that was just so embarrassing to watch omg.
So appararently this has been on my "completed" list for 3 years. I swear I never finished it, but I know the ending because I watched it on YT. However, I can't recall the entire show. So i'm gonna watch again & see if my review changes from a 10/10!
OMG i finally finished this drama after refusing to watch the last 3 episodes because I didn't want it to end,…
Okay, so this was undoubtedly one of the best dramas in the kdrama universe period. The acting was on point, the costumes were amazing, the storyline was great, the cast was all attractive like everything about this show hit the mark.
BUT THOSE LAST 3 EPISODES HAVE ME PUNCHING THE AIR RN & I NEED PART 2 LIKE YESTERDAY.
[MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW]
So first of all, I hate how the prince got to take all of Jang Uks shine as the kings star when Jang Uk was literally the one who saved everybody. But I get it, they had to create some sort of tension between the 2.
Then, what really made me mad was how they did my girl Naksu! First of all, where did these soul controlling bells come from 😒 The fact that she stabbed Jang Uk doesn't bother me because that man loves her to his core, I don't think he'll believe that she did that on purpose. He'll probably be the only one besides Yul to know that something is up. What bothers me, is that even though Naksu was wrong for shifting her soul into the body of someone else, If that was revealed, I felt like her friends (dang gu & bu yeons sister) would've still accepted her. But they just had to make her an enemy again! Now her friends want her dead because they believe she is really just the assassin Naksu.
It saddens me for her because she was literally used her entire life. Even as an assassin, jin mu probably never told her that the people she was killing were the souls that got shifted out of their bodies. Plus she never knew that her dad was a soul shifter that went wild and NOW it was also revealed that he did all that against his will as well! I just hate the fact that we're going to probably get majority of next season with all of Naksu (Mu-deoks) friends hating her! I love angst but not like this T_T. I feel so bad for her!
Also... what's gonna happen with Bu Yeon? Like I'm excited that Naksu is finally gonna be back in her own body but hopefully they create a storyline for Bu Yeon. What I kinda wanna see is like Naksu & Bu Yeon being close friends with Naksu being very protective of her since she shared a body with her. But with the way the Jin family is acting, I feel like Bu Yeon is gonna get sent back home & Naksu will once again be painted the villain.
Anyway, this post is in no way bashing the show. Like I said, this was AMAZING, im just ready for the next part because I need to know if my girl is gonna get her justice.
OMG i finally finished this drama after refusing to watch the last 3 episodes because I didn't want it to end, but now I REGRET watching the last 3, i'm so mad T_T
haven't seen this since 2 years ago and i'm pretty sure i didn't finish it all the way even though its on my completed…
idk what i was thinking 2 years ago...because what was this. I guess back then I hadn't seen as many dramas as I have now but omg was this bad! Honestly, the storyline was pretty good & I get that the "game" graphics were supposed to be cheesy because its a video game but the FL ruined this entire drama for me...
First of all, the actress could not act at all here like the delayed shocked moments she had or just any type of reaction cue she had to do was OFF. It's like they only casted her because of how gorgeous she was. Also, the dubbing was TERRIBLE, why did it sound like only xiao nai & her friends scenes weren't dubbed but she was the only one who had a dub over her scenes. It was so bad & unrealistic.
And finally, her character was just so plain & boring. She was such a goody two shoes & while i love a smart FL who's does her work & sticks by her morals, she doesn't have to be so BORING. They portrayed her as this perfect girl who didn't believe in showing a lot of skin because it meant that you came from a "good home" if u didn't with good grades! While that's not too bad, its just so boring to watch! I love FLs who are smart but also not afraid to show their flaws. Messy hair, mismatched clothing, or anything like that are FINE. Why was she portrayed so "perfect"? IDK, i just couldn't get past that. I normally pay more attention to the FLs then MLs but with this show, Yang Yang stole the whole thing.
Definitely dropping & changing my 9.5 rating to a 5!
haven't seen this since 2 years ago and i'm pretty sure i didn't finish it all the way even though its on my completed list! I don't remember the ending at all! Either way, im gonna give this another watch :D
Alright so before I leave my review, this is a quick PSA to NEVER LISTEN TO COMMENTS! I had this on my "not interested"…
Okay so this show was SO good?! Like I normally hate shows where the leads have like multiple lives with each other but this was done so well?
[SPOILERS BELOW!!]
I was going to kinda talk about each life they went through together but It would be a whole essay if I did so instead I'll just summarize it!
In my opinion, they went through 5 lives together or kind of like... 5 different times they should've ended up together but wasn't able to. I enjoyed watching all of them except for the one where they were trapped in a dream together. I hated that one, it literally dragged on & I just wanted it to be over! But it introduced 2 very important people that would end up being apart of Donghua & Fengjius fate in the end so I guess I didn't mind it too much!
I enjoyed this show so much! I'm so mad at myself for listening to comments and not giving it a shot because it was really good! The FL was NOT childish as someone said below (which is what made me not want to watch this), yes she had her moments where things didn't make sense but i've seen FLs who were extremely childish & annoying. Fengjiu was such a sweetheart & always did what she thought was right, even if it meant risking her life or her dignity as the princess of Qingqiu.
All in all, this was amazing. The only thing i wish they changed was the ending! It was a happy ending which is GREAT. But I hate how Cdramas tend to rush the endings of shows. I get it might be because of budgets or things like that but come on... I wanted to see the look on everyones faces when they saw how badly Fengjiu was injured after that fight with that lady. Or I even wanted to see more of how Donghua reacted when he found out Gungun was his son! Like why did they do so many time jumps at the end? I hate that! Other than that, 10/10! Definitely one of my new favs! LOVED THIS!
Alright so before I leave my review, this is a quick PSA to NEVER LISTEN TO COMMENTS! I had this on my "not interested" list for YEARS because someone said that the FL was too childish! I gave the show a try out of boredom & omg I regret not watching it sooner! The FL was not childish at all! I'll say more in my (spoiler heavy) review below but GIVE THIS A CHANCE if you're hesitating! I promise you will NOT be disappointed cause wow!
OKAY so I finally finished this drama and i'll leave my (SPOILER) review below!
Okay! So this show is one of my favorites in Cdrama land so far! It was definitely a bumpy ride but it was SUCH a good show! I skipped some of the storyline/plot but I got most of it and I enjoyed it!
So for the characters I liked:
Firstly, I looovveeedd Haishi! She was so strong & confident and I loved that she fought her own battles! She always fought for what she believed was right and stood by her morals and she was 1000% the best character of the show! The only thing I didn't understand was why we didn't get more of a heartbreaking scene when her mother passed. I also loved the handsome brother of hers too! He was such a nice big brother to her even though they weren't truly related! Their sibling relationship was so admirable! I also liked Tilan a lot! I skipped most of her scenes between her & the king because I couldn't stand him but the scenes she had with Haishi were so beautiful and I loved how she never got jealous or was mean to Haishi! She was such a sweetheart!
Now the characters I didn't like so much:
So don't get me wrong, Fang Jiangming was definitely a "loyal" character and I appreciate his devotion to Haishi. HOWEVER, I could not STAND him in the beginning! Even if he was just trying to protect Hashi, he was so mean to the poor girl sometimes! I also hated that he kept pushing her away. I get that it was for her "protection" but he never sat down to consider her feelings, he just assumed he was doing what was "best" for her which caused both of them so much pain & sadness! I ended up liking him in the end but I hated him for most of the show, I won't lie.
Next we have the king :| So many of ya'll are up in these comments like "Sigh I wish the king and Tilan had a better ending :((((((((" Like WHAT? Yes, I wish Tilan survived because she didn't deserve to die like that. But I did NOT bat an eyelash when the king met his demise. This man EMOTIONALLY & PHYSICALLY abused Tilan for like the first part of their relationship, almost caused her to not be able to have children, practically r*ped her, beat his best friend and his disciple over disobeying him & was overall just an a*hole. Yeah he changed in the end but idc, nothing excuses abuse. No matter how hard I tried to like the "reformed king", all I could see was him choking Tilan and throwing her around, leaving bruises on her. He's definitely one of my most disliked drama characters ever.
But yeah! That's it! This show was so good, literally 10/10. I'd definitely say give this a try if you're looking for something interesting! :D
They added the extra episode to make room for additional content in earlier episodes, not to end it in a different…
Ah good to know! I thought it was just an extra episode since the ENTIRE series was shot in full screen but episode 17 suddenly had the black bars as if to show things were getting "serious".
Either way, I feel like if you're a happy ending addict like I am, its much better to stop at ep 16! After watching ep 17, I was so sad for them because things got so real and depressing. Every time I re-watch, I always stop right at ep 16 because imo it wraps the story up perfectly & happily
Coming back to say this is my third time in the past 4 months re-watching this drama. Normally, dramas don't have much re-watch value as they're usually boring but this drama is SO good every single time. The chemistry is off the the charts & I looooovvveee dramas where the ML is in a position of authority and falls for the FL who may just be a commoner or someone of lower rank! It shows that he has no perception of "ranks" and "status" & that he fell for her just because! This was so good, even the scheming storylines of everyone else was great! The prince/king was SO handsome, probably one of the most handsome royals i've seen in a kdrama! Such an amazing show!
If you're someone looking for a happy ending, I advise you to stop at episode 16 as they wrapped up the story super happily! But if you do decide to watch ep 17, just know that your entire heart will be ripped out! I think they added episode 17 as an extra episode to show how it "realistically" would have ended as most dramas stop at episode 16!
Okay so this has been sitting on my drop list for a while now. I've tried to watch it five different times over…
I made it to episode 8 and i'm officially letting this go. I'm sorry but this is probably the most boring show i've ever stumbled across. I really tried to push until episode 10, HOPING it would get better but I literally kept fast forwarding through almost every scene! None of the story was interesting, the Lin concubine & her daughter were so annoying, the dad was an a**hole & minglan was too docile for me. I get that she eventually gets more character development and becomes stronger but it's already eight episodes in and nothing is happening. Tbh, this show is called "The Story Of Minglan" but minglan feels like more of a side character than a main character!
This show is definitely more for the people who don't mind a super long story that focuses on ALL characters. I'm someone who likes shows that mainly focus on the leads, but when a bunch of different storylines start getting introduced, it just gets so confusing and draggy for me. Like one moment we're at the academy, and the next we're at Gu's house where he's getting yelled at by his father, then we're back at the shengs where "big madam" is mad over everything... like where's the story of minglan? I wanna hear about HER, I wanna know her thoughts and I wanna see her fight back against this terrible family but its taking AGES. I literally do not care about anyone else in that horrible family like why are we getting scenes of them talking about their problems. I've literally watched 8 episodes in 2 hours because i've been skipping past all their scenes.
I'm also a huge romance person but I was willing to put that aside and watch it because I knew they were eventually gonna get married according to the comments. But after getting bored again, I went through the comments once more and saw one that said Minglan isn't able to express her love for her husband (the ML) for some reason. Like thats so boring, I wanna see chemistry & them fighting alongside each other or something!
Anyways, I will be giving this a 1 star for the ML being kinda cute & thats it. This show may be amazing to other people and your opinion is 100% valid but I am done trying to watch this. It's so boring omg.
(pls dont attack me for thinking its boring, its MY opinion and not a fact! If you like it then that's great for you that you were able to enjoy it! I just couldn't)
Okay so this has been sitting on my drop list for a while now. I've tried to watch it five different times over the past 3 years and I always drop this within 1-6 episodes!! It's just so slow and boring to me so far. BUT I have nothing to watch anymore since i've seen so many dramas so im finally gonna give this ANOTHER try. This time, i'll try to make it to episode 10 and see if it still interests me! There will probably be a lot of skipping in the first few eps which is not a good sign but hopefully it picks up since so many people like it!!
i'm at episode 3 and this is SO hard to watch omg... like GIRL have some dignity for yourself... STAND UP?
She just met this man and has already followed him through a forest to his campsite, is willing to get sick to get his attention, keeps somehow interfering with his plans & now she's lying about them having s*x for him to "take responsibility"... like BABY u haven't even spent real time w him yet or done anything for you to be this obsessed. It's making me laugh so hard but cringe at the same time ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ is he THAT fine? like my GOD, he even said he was engaged and she was like "AND WHAT ABOUT IT?"
Imma still watch it though cause it's not a bad story and i love the costumes and the sets but whew, I really hope she tones down the obsession or imma have to let this go... i feel so bad for her like she's GORGEOUS and this man is obviously not into her yet but she's coming on so strong. Hopefully he changes his mind but... idk chile...
First of all, I knew I wasn't going to like it when the pacing was super fast. Literally within the first 10 mins, the FL was confessing her love for this boy.
