Im dropping this show because all of the drama and angst is starting to give me a headache but I will say this cause these comments are NOT it.
Yes, Dong Cheol deserved to be recognized for what he did for Sang Mi. He lost so much and was 100% a victim. However, I do not like how some of ya'll are saying that Sang Mi owes him an "apology" or a "thanks" when she LITERALLY did that already. She thanked him at the prison and then thanked him on that bridge and AGAIN when they were at that house. People seem to be only looking at Dong Cheol as the victim when this poor girl was literally almost SA'd at school, watched her own TWIN BROTHER k*ll himself, watched her mom go crazy, watch her dad get sucked into this weird cult, was literally kidnapped for THREE YEARS/ not allowed to leave the church, almost k*lled by that weird apostle guy, watched someone who was like another brother to her get RAN OVER BY A TRAIN RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER & her own dad tried to sell her off to this pastor who literally wanted to r*pe her. Like yes Dong Cheol went through a lot but lets not act like Sang Mi didn't. Don't be blaming her if she didn't "thank him" enough when she's literally been through more than any of those boys combined.
I do agree that the ML was a little.. meh though. I LOOVVEEE Ok Taec Yeon, I've literally watched almost every drama he's been in and he's such an amazing actor. But the ML frustrated the hell out of me sometimes. However, I kinda understood him. Even though it was an a*hole move of him not helping Sang Mi on the roof, he probably didn't predict that her brother would do what he did. He just wanted to be a good son to his dad since that was technically his only parent at that moment. And then for those 3 years, he regretted his decision and was trying to make it up to Sang Mi & Dong Cheol by helping them out but he kept making the same mistakes as before with trying to go to the police & his dad. I defs understand his character but he was annoying ash.
Anyways, this show was pretty alright. I've been meaning to watch this for 2 years now and finally got around to it. I'm definitely disappointed, I found myself fast forwarding through scenes a lot but Seo Ye Ji is such an amazing actor that I was so hooked to her scenes. I made it to episode 11 but things are just getting worse from here and my head can't take it anymore lol. 6/10 from me!
Okay I swear idk how some of ya'll are saying the 3 villain men are "sexy" or shipping the FL with them in any way??? I'm literally a romance queen and I love steamy chemistry and things like that but NONE of the villains deserved to be called sexy in anyway LOL
[MAJOR SPOILERS]
Kang Jae looked insane half the time and he literally tried to SA the FL on purpose and then eventually tried to murder her for something that was INITIALLY his fault.
I thought Tae Joo was going to be a good guy at first but then this man literally did a 360 and admitted everything to the FL and even told her that he wished he was the one to kill her dad instead and wanted to see the look on her dads face when he died. Then proceeded to try and kill HER.
Then finally we have Mu Jin and please, he's literally the worst. I started watching this because people were saying how the FL and Mu Jin had "sizzling chemistry" but I knew I wouldn't like them together the moment I saw him slap her for no reason. Even throughout the show, I didn't feel chemistry between them, more like he cared about her as if she was family to him. I'll admit though, Mu Jin was kinda sexy but the slapping a woman for no reason completely turned me off of him.
Anyways, this is still the best show i've seen in a while. I usually fast forward because shows tend to drag on but this was PERFECTLY paced and written beautifully. The only thing I wished happened was that both the main male leads stayed alive & we got a season 2 or something! 10/10!!!!
Alright so I just finished watching and rated this a 10/10 because everything was amazing!! The cinematography, the storyline, the cast, the scenes, the CGI, and even the lines in the scripts were done perfectly! This is an AMAZING Cdrama and i recommend everyone to watch!
However, I do have some complaints about that ending! It wasn't a bad ending so I'd say it's still worth a watch, but I kind of wish it was better!! Rant below because I love this show so much!
[SPOILERS AHEAD]
So, the ending was okay and I felt like the writers wanted to quickly wrap the story up in the final episode. However, it felt super rushed and unnatural. I get that they wanted DF to risk his life for LH like she did for him (there were a lot of parallels in the final episode, like how LH started off as a servant for DF and the roles got reversed) and I guess the writers wanted to create a parallels there as well. They succeeded but in the end I felt like it didn't make any sense.
My issue was that I wish everything that happened in episode 36, happened in episode 35 instead and in episode 36, we maybe got to see DF actually using his newfound Glazed Fire + LH's new goddess powers to maybe actually fight Tai Su! I feel like Tai Su was this big bad villain for the entire series but he barely had any time to fight, he just used DF's body to make some grunting noises and then he was killed LOL like I wish we got to see him actually form a body and fight our main leads together, it would've been so cool! But the way they wrapped it up seemed super quick like even DF coming back didn't feel emotional. Yeah she waited 500 years but all he said was "i'm back" and kissed her, I was hoping for a more heartfelt reunion or SOMETHING!!
Anyways, ignore this, it's just thoughtless mumbling over such a great show! Even if the ending kind of disappointed me, I don't regret watching this masterpiece! Amazing!
I'm really scared to finish watching this because I feel like it's going to disappoint me but I see a few people mentioned below that we got the fight scene/ badass Naksu I wanted to see so i'll watch for that <3
I'm dropping this at only 4 episodes in omg... what is this? This is the only time I actually agree with low ratings because this was SO boring. The cinematography was beautiful and the story had potential with her being a white snake that finally became human and wanted to explore the mortal realm. But all she did was interact with the ML and omfg was he BORING. If he had some character to him, I wouldn't mind if they spent all their time together but he was so passive/nice & soft spoken and even when he got frustrated or angry, he had no reaction to things. Like he was just super stiff and that's weird to me because I know the actor from other dramas and he's amazing in those. I have no idea what happened here but this was horrible. It had no depth, I guess this would be the perfect show for people who like "simple" dramas because this was definitely simple and boring.
1/10, I'm only giving it a 1 for the cinematography and the CGI.
Welp, i've dropped this and rated it a 3. Why is this rated so high? I barely made it to 6 episodes and I want my time back. The last drama I said that about was "Playful Kiss" and that was the worst drama I had ever seen. This almost follows the same plotline. Naive girl falls for this a*hole of a guy and even when he embarrasses her or does her wrong, she always comes crying back to him like a little puppy. She was literally already going through so much and crying over the embarrassment that she received and just because he was jealous, he purposefully made it worse by telling her how embarrassing she was. How toxic is that? And there was NO apology so I was happy to see her mad at him and actually standing up for herself but then he did the bare minimum, uttered 2 words and she was right back to being crazy over him.
I hate when writers of these shows try to make these "tsundere" male leads when in reality they're just toxic. He dodges her forward advances but then as soon as she starts to pull away, he does little things that he knows will keep her liking him. It's so frustrating because I really wanted to see her character develop, she was such a sweetheart. And omg I had SUCH bad SLS!! Like the 2nd ML was perfect, and I think the show kept trying to shove that in our faces. He was literally perfect for her but in the end she still chose someone who was such a big a*hole.
I decided not to keep watching but I read the previews for the rest of the episodes and I know that it just gets worse from here. She continues to cling on to him, even through college, they break up due to him wanting to pursue his goals, 3 years later he comes back & is regretting the whole thing, he's now clingy with her instead, her and the SML are sort of a "thing", but as soon as her first love comes back into the picture, she gives up on the good life with the SML to be with the a*hole and there's probably more fluff after that. This definitely disappointed me, I had this on my "plan to watch" for almost 2 years now and finally decided to give it a chance but I regret doing it...
If you're looking for a strong female lead that won't be willingly bullied by the male lead then this isn't the drama for you.
I was so excited for this weeks episodes and waited the full week but im reading the comments and it seems like nothing actually happened? I was hoping to finally see Naksu unsheathe her sword and show off her power but according to you guys, nothing happened? That's so disappointing lol, I really hope the show doesn't end with Naksu never getting to fight because I went into watching this with wanting to see another female warrior and we got a bit of her fight skill in episode 1 but throughout the series, she's just been very smart and helpful to our male lead. I hope she gets her moment to shine in the final 2 episodes.
So i won't watch these 2 and i'll wait till next week to watch all 4 episodes back to back.
Finally finished this drama and here's my review on it. I'm definitely not someone who enjoys "business-y" dramas so I skipped a lot of the cases but some of them seemed to tie in with the story line so I stayed for those! The acting was amazing and I loved the characters (minus minwoo and tae su mi)! What made me stay was the romance in this show. If the two leads didn't get back together, I probably would've dropped it because for me that was the only factor keeping me going. The story was great but idk something just felt lacking.
I LOOOVVEEED WYW. She's definitely one of my fav FLs! For those of you who got mad that she broke up w LJH and felt like she needed to be the one to apologize is very strange imo. She broke up with him because she was worried that she couldn't make him happy. She literally said she normally thinks about herself and its hard for her to consider the feelings of others. But the fact that she didn't want to be selfish and keep him when she felt like he could be happier with someone else, despite the fact that she still liked him, that was such an amazing thing to see. For once, she put her own feelings aside for someone she loved. LJH also didn't have to apologize because he didn't do anything wrong but im glad attorney jung gave him that advice about holding on to someone when you love them. LJH didn't give up on WY and eventually, she decided to stay with him which made me so happy! Their story in general was so beautiful and sweet, and i'm so glad that it wrapped up nicely!
I hate the fact that minwoo got a redemption arc because no matter how "nice" he's being now, it doesn't take away the fact that he bullied and discriminated against WYW for having a disability and even went as far as trying to make her lose her job. Even in the end, he just didn't want to be the one to personally pull the plug but he still gave the tip off to her mom that that moment was the best time to fire her. I skipped past all the scenes with him and Su-yeon because she deserves so much better then someone like him and i hope he gets what's coming to him in season 2. Worst character. (Amazing actor though!)
All in all, i'm giving this an 8/10 for the amazing story, visuals and characters! I just wish it pulled me in more.
i also have one more theory i wanna add, we all have been getting hinted that "Mu-deok" is actually "Bu-Yeons" body. With her being able to open the Jin seal, Naksu feeling strange things when being next to something from the Jin family, etc...
Remember the convo Chu-yeon had with Naksu? She said that Bu-Yeon was known to be powerful since a child and that she was a priestess that could trap souls. So the day that Naksu was looking for someone to soul shift with and grabbed that helpless lady, what if Bu-yeon sensed it and instead decided to trap Naksu in her own body so Naksu wouldn't hurt anyone else. Because if we remember when Uk ended up in the Alchemy of Souls, Bu-Yeon was the one comforting him and she seemed to be almost at peace like she wasn't scared and knew exactly where she was. I definitely feel like Bu-yeon has a bigger part to play here and i'm so excited to see what happens. I also hope JSM returns for season 2 as Bu-Yeon and both her and Naksu become friends.
Naksu mastered up to Chisu. She has not mastered Hwansu.
Oh but didn't master Lee say that the only way Naksu was able to survive for so long in another body without turning wild was because she mastered Hwansu? He also said that's what he was practicing when he left his own body.
I finally got around to watching the show and it's so good! Even if Naksu goes back to her own body, it'll be…
ALSO i just saw the trailer for the next episode!??! Ya'll are talking about this kiss, i dont even care about the kiss, NAKSU UNSHEATED HER SWORD???? I'm so ready to see that omg, i hope we get a fight scene and not some quick 2 minute scene of nothingness.
I finally got around to watching the show and it's so good! Even if Naksu goes back to her own body, it'll be weird at first but JSM copied the look and movements of the original Naksu so well that it'll feel natural when she's back in her own body. Or a new one, we still don't know yet ig. But I DO have some comments, and pls dont attack me, these are my opinions not facts lol:
1.) I'm sorry, but the crown prince is FINE. Lord have mercy, like whew! He may be a brickhead but he's so charming to me idk why. His little smirks and his tall build... what a man! I'm defs gonna check out a few of his dramas after this!
2.) Okay so the real comments, in my opinion, i'm glad Yul isn't the ML. While he's super sweet and a goody two shoes, he's too good i feel like for our main assassin. She has such a messed up past, I feel like someone like him would be too righteous for her. She's not a villain but she's definitely not a superhero so i feel like they'd bump heads a lot about what's right and what's wrong. I'm glad Uk is the ML because he seems more like the type to act first and think later. Plus he's also messed up inside as well. At first, I liked the looks she gave Yul but the more time I saw the two leads together, the more i loved the idea of them. They're so loyal to each other, I can't wait to see more of their story!
3.) And finally, while this show is pretty good, I did find myself skipping through a good amount. I know a good amount of the story but at the same time, imo there were defs some filler scenes! It was also tiring that there was so many twists and turns at every moment like my heart can't handle it LOL. This show definitely coulda ended in 16 episodes but at the same time, all the good kdramas are longer than 16 so i get why it kept going. I just hope they're able to create a satisfying ending for season 1 that will wrap up some of the storyline neatly, while also keeping us excited for season 2!
I also may be asking for too much but i'm really hoping towards the end we somehow get a bad-ass fight scene with Naksu again. I wanna see her in action and I want everyone to be stunned at her power because she apparently mastered "Hwansu" which is supposed to be one of the most powerful levels of sorcery in the show! So i hope we see something!
i haven't watched this yet, i wanted to wait till it fully came out to binge it. However, I see some comments that its a possibility (not confirmed) that the FL will change. It wouldn't deter me from watching this but I can see how that would be frustrating, at least in my opinion. It'd be kinda weird spending 20 episodes seeing this character on screen with the face of JSM and then next season, it's the same character but with a different face. It's kinda uncanny valley almost imo! If the plot centers around the FL being in someone elses body, it 100% makes sense in terms of story but it still would be weird to get used to seeing a new face when we've only seen the FL as JSM's face. I'm still going to give this a try though.
Also though, now that I think about it, if the ML is also a soul trapped in someone else's body then he probably wouldn't care about her face being different! I think me, as a viewer, is defs gonna have to try and get used to the new face (if it gets confirmed) and maybe it wont be that big of a deal, idk! Anyways, I agree with the comments below though!
I'm putting this on hold for now because my heart is way to invested into this show. I'm saying it right now, I've seen so many powerful FLs from Fuyaou from legend of fuyao, to the lead from princess agents, to the lead from the long ballad and also the lead from the legend of fei. Li Ge is DEFINITELY the most powerful out of all of them. Fuyao was my all-time favorite female warrior but after watching this for almost 40 episodes, Li Ge is the best heroine i've ever seen in a cdrama. She was EXTREMELY strong and she didn't let anyone walk over her. She was literally able to take down an entire gang of men at once and not even break a sweat. She didn't have to live under a new name secretly to protect herself and she always stood up against injustice. It's been a while since a FL made me admire her so much!!
Now about the show, this has tied with L&R for me as the best cdrama I have EVER seen. Why is this not as popular? And why is it at a 7.9? I'm only 31 episodes in and I've already rated this a 10/10. Even if the ending disappoints me, I woudn't regret watching such a masterpiece. The pacing was amazing, the romance was so beautifully built, and the storyline was perfect! The only thing that annoyed me was that "cousin" but that shows how well this show was made because I hated her so much! Literally I was so happy for the leads when they would win and when they would lose, I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next! I've watched so many cdramas lately and none of them have made me feel so deep into a story like this! I'm only putting this on hold because my poor heart can't take it anymore LOL i'm rooting so much for the good side to win and i'm too scared to find out what will happen next!! Also, i'm tired of seeing the face of that cousin and she's taking to long to die, i can't wait till she leaves, it's unbearable seeing the scenes of her.
Anyways, if you're debating on watching this DO IT. This was so good!!! I'll probably finish the story once my anxiety calms down but best cdrama ever!!!!!! 10/10!!!!
I'm so excited to watch this! The intro is super cute and the synopsis sounds a lot like WWWSK, the KDRAMA! And…
So i'm back after making it to episode 3 and i'm dropping this T_T. There's nothing wrong with the show, in fact it was very cute and funny! But i've never been a rom-com kind of person so I guess that's why i'm not a fan! I thought it was just gonna be a fluffy romance drama but its definitely heavy on the comedy. Like even the moments where the leads were supposed to be "serious" was made into a joke or a punchline. If you like rom-coms, this is DEFS for you but I will be dropping this c:
I'm so excited to watch this! The intro is super cute and the synopsis sounds a lot like WWWSK, the KDRAMA! And i loved that show! I've been watching a lot of angsty and serious dramas lately so this should be a nice change of pace :) I'll update back on if i finished it or not! ^o^
So i'm at episode 5 and dropping this! The story was REALLY good so far and honestly, I disagree with the comments…
There's no difference at all! It's just a personal preference* because my first ever drama was "Playful Kiss" and it was so painful seeing the FL chase the ML and constantly be hurt/verbally abused. Especially since i've been in a verbally abusive relationship myself before for 4 years and ended up always getting hurt, so I really hate seeing FL's chase/cling to men that hurt them, it's like a trigger for me!
So far majority* of the ML chases FL shows i've watched, it's always like the ML is painted in a charming light and the FL is just oblivious to his charms. But when I see it reversed, its always the ML pushing the FL away/being cold/saying abusive things and the FL is portrayed as overly clingy, even when the ML is being an ahole.
I'm loving this so far and i cant wait for todays episode! I'll leave my official full review at the end but i…
I don't care what anyone says, Tae Su-Mi and Kwon Min Woo are the worst characters. The writers did an AMAZING job making them villains and the actors are playing their parts very well because I 100% hate the both of them LOL and here's why:
Min-Woo: Multiple episodes, I really tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. Even when he blatantly discriminated against young-woos disability and belittled her, I still tried to say "maybe he'll change". He didn't lol. It's been 10 episodes and he's only gotten worse. And his excuse for basically bullying the poor girl is that "she's stronger than him and its not fair". Like i'm sorry, I thought you were a lawyer, not a child. Young-Woo is constantly discriminated on and it's taken her a lot to prove that someone with autism can still stand up and defend someone else. He's basically saying she gets everything handed to her because of her disability when it's literally the opposite. People are not going "easy on her", they recognize that she's a genius and is simply good at her job. He's the only one that's choosing not to see past her disability and that's what makes him so horrible. I hate how the show tries to give his character funny scenes like we should somehow relate to him when he's the actual villain. And I bet he's going to get some type of redemption towards the end after all the vile things he's done so far.
Tae Su-Mi: There isn't much to say on her, besides the fact that she's a horrible excuse of a woman. She had EVERY right to refuse having that child. But, she promised to have the child if Gwang-Ho stayed away. Gwang-Ho did that for 27 years and now she's trying to force him away again? No accepting her long lost daughter or apologizing, just immediately trying to send them away again. Plus she knows her daughter has autism, yet she still wants to push her away. I was hoping that maybe she'd be nicer after finding her daughter but I was wrong? Idk..
I really hope these characters don't get redemption arcs tbh. I hope Min-Woo is fired from the law firm and that Taesan goes bankrupt or something lol. I'm just worried that the villains are defs gonna get a happy ending. (Min-Woo could end up with Su-Yeon & Su-Mi will just continue acting like Young-Woo doesn't exist, living her best rich life). IDK, i can't wait to see how this is wrapped up!

I definitely feel like Bu-yeon has a bigger part to play here and i'm so excited to see what happens. I also hope JSM returns for season 2 as Bu-Yeon and both her and Naksu become friends.
