I absolutely agree. Ji Yeon is a stranger, while Jae Hoon and Yeo Reum have history. He’s loved Yeo Reum for decades, that doesn’t just go away. Even so, when she denied his confession, he didn’t keep telling her how his heart is breaking, a la Ji Yeon, but gave her space with selfless deeds sprinkled on the side. Ji Yeon has no ground to stand on, aside from when he said he would treat her with sincerity, which doesn’t translate to “be my woman.”

Right? I think this drama is a good example of how often people get in their own way. The only thing stopping them from becoming a couple earlier into their friendship was Yeo-Reum’s sense of inadequacy, which Jae Hoon never considered. Ironically, Ji Yeon probably sees herself and Jae Hoon as being very compatible, they come from the same social strata and their parents are encouraging of the relationship. However, the willingness to be in a relationship from both sides is missing, so despite how “good” she and Jae Hoon may look on paper, it won’t change much.

Our frozen romance is starting to thaw! The chemistry is fine between the ML and FL, it’s just the tension that is lacking since they could have gotten together sooner. I am worried for what comes next since the first episode sets up at least one more misunderstanding. In Chef John’s defence, he was raised to appreciate and love food, so seeing it wasted regardless of the reason is insulting to not only the person who made the food, but the dish itself and so many who go hungry when they would kill to have that same meal.

Also, Jae Hoon shouldn’t have felt guilted into giving Ji Yeon a chance; a man shouldn’t have to tell you more than once that he doesn’t want you. Whatever happens next is kind of at her peril since she was determined to have him by any means necessary. His feelings for Yeo Reum have always been stronger and she knew about them, so is he really a villain for staying true to himself? Pity only goes so far and even if they did develop a relationship, I am unconvinced that they both would have been happy. The likelihood of him choosing her was less than Yeo Reum realizing her feelings, since Ji Yeon is quite frankly the interloper in this situation. I don’t know why people want to force Jae Hoon into choosing her and this is where his agreeability bites him in the keister, since he doesn’t want to hurt anybody, but sometimes you have to be firm and say enough is enough. Ji Yeon needs to stop trying to make fetch happen.

I think he realized that no matter how great someone looks on the outside, they might be struggling with hidden issues and vice versa. I think he’s starting to see deeper than surface level and doesn’t like how shallow he was, hence the apology to Yeo-Reum.

It would have been wonderful if he had been compassionate in this situation, but as we’ve seen, his EQ isn’t very high. As for Tae Mi, she is still making a choice to be bulimic. Regardless of why that is, she is doing this to herself. As much as I do recognize the pressure of societal expectations, what we do with them is entirely our responsibility, but I hope she gets help.

The kindest thing Jae-Hoon can do for Ji-Yeon is to let her know how he really feels. Something tells me that most people sugar-coat things for this woman and it hasn’t helped her face reality.

The weird thing is that if a guy were in Ji Yeon's position, we would think he was creepy. Despite being told clearly that the other person is not interested and likes someone else, the man continues to insert himself into their life, showing up at their place of work and trying to finagle any type of connection, even offering sex. Not to mention, manipulating their love interest with hurt feelings when things don't turn out their way, but he knew the situation. Not many people would like the male version of this character, so why are we so quick to excuse Ji Yeon?

@Drama Unni I think this is why people settle. They attach themselves to people and situations that do not serve them, blaming everyone but themselves for why it doesn't work out. Sometimes it is okay to walk away. You shouldn't have to convince someone to see value in you or want to pursue a relationship, that becomes desperation.

@Kaiju, Same. I hope that Chae-Ri's childhood trauma isn't just hinted at, I want more backstory and character development! Still, she's pretty awful currently and uses the cast's backstories to her advantage. It definitely doesn't increase my sympathy for her, but I hope she doesn't remain a one-note villain.

@VII Hopefully she realizes that Jae-Hoon will never be into her like that and moves on soon, but Ji-Yeon is stubborn and her clinginess could drag until the finale. At the same time, I would be fine if Yeo-Reum has to work and regain his affection with the tables switched, because she takes Jae-Hoon completely for granted. For instance: He checked in on her parents when they were in hospital and sent food for EVERYONE and also paid the bill. She immediately thought it was her ex and when this was disproved, acted like it was no big deal. I thought it was odd that she swooned when she believed the ex did it, but shrugged it off when it's about Jae-Hoon.

It's true that some people can't see a good thing staring them in the eye. He's been too available for far too long and needs to put himself first. Please let her realize what she's taken for granted. With that said, I acknowledge that the timing of everything is horrendous. It hasn't been a month since the wedding was called off, but I wish she considered his feelings more. It's just a pot of unfortunate circumstances at this point.

May they rest in peace, God should be with their families.

@Wait_IsItNot I'm pretty sure that Ji-Yeon was the one to offer being "used" and he just took her up on it when he realized that there needed to be a coupling up in the show. Why not go with someone who is aware of your feelings and seemingly understands that you do not want a real relationship? Ji-Yeon never should have offered to accept less than what she really wanted.

@HJHofT17 I have a bad feeling that the start-up guy will blurt out the truth about Ji-Wan's past to make himself look good. Like, they manage to get together, but since he's playing a game, he will go ahead and reveal the secret so that people will think he's a supportive partner. I hope this doesn't happen, but I have a hunch that it might.

@Keiju I see the cold-hearted side of Chae Ri, but also the no-nonsense help my friend (?) out aspect. She's cold and calculating for sure, but after hearing the conversation with all three of them in the garden (ML, SFL, FL), I think she's helping Yeo-Reum since the girl is a walking doormat. At this point, Ji-Yeon will force herself on Jae-Hoon because he's impatient and she's pitiful, so Yeo-Reum won't put up a fight. Just because you whine loudest does not mean you deserve it more.

I think Chae-Ri is complicating things on purpose to shake Yeo-Reum out of her complacency and eliminate the excuses.
