I agree that the portrayal so far has undermined the work pharmacists do by turning them into some superhumans who must think of and do everything regardless of whether it's within their job scope. And definitely in healthcare, it is dangerous to do something you're not trained to do. The running joke of the pharmacy department being perennially short-handed is really thin after a while because Aoi contributes to the lack of manpower with her actions, but only Kariya and sometimes Seno call her out for it.
Episode 8, for once, had Aoi not doing any sort of doctoring and was decent overall. Something is up with Seno though, which sucks since I was watching this drama for him.
Unpopular opinion. Ishihara Satomi's acting is the only thing holding this drama up. Please do NOT watch this…
It's not an unpopular opinion. The drama is unrealistic and going to great lengths to show pharmacists as "essential". No doubt they are, but not in the way the drama is depicting them. Nurses are almost non-existent in this drama, and what doctors there are are either incompetent or intent on putting pharmacists "in their place". Frankly, if Aoi wants to do so much doctoring work, she should have gone to med school and trained to be a doctor.
I see the title of this article, and I know immediately it's by Ebisuno! No one else in MDL goes into Japanese cinema in as much detail as you. I don't think I've seen much of Kagawa-san's works, so it's time to remedy that! I enjoyed reading this, thank you for sharing another important slice of Japanese film history!
Awesome to have a feature on cats! Neko Zamurai is tops, it is so hilarious and heartwarming! I love Kitamura Kazuki's portrayal and Tama-chan is just too adorable! Hope there's a third season!

Yeah, first the happiness, and then the shock, and worry for her safety (I mean, the logic fails in the drama are plenty, but I did like that she stabbed him and they reunited like this, haha). And that part in the carriage where he said he was really happy, and that "I know the person you wanted to kill isn't Si ge", was really sweet.

Oh yeah, I did think Shen Zhi would recognise her, or at least be more suspicious. I mean, it's nice that he's turned out to be an ally for now... Oh well. I just think a more believable build-up (and less superhero shenanigans) would have helped with the stabbing later on. That said, I did like the emotional aspects of the stabbing and aftermath. ML is really... trusting towards the FL and that was nice to see, even if I wish he'd actually feel a bit upset that she'd just tried to kill him (I stopped at 23).

Haha, yeah, I'm aware of the conventions and all that, doesn't make it less face-palmy. It just didn't come across well to me, along with a few other things, which is a pity since I think the premise is promising. But at least the FL is now starting to use some brains, and I do kind of like her with the ML.

You're not wrong, she's rash and doesn't think things through. There are quite a few logic fails in the drama (she not recognising the ML despite his pathetic "disguise" is one giant facepalm), but I think people are just supposed to roll with it because she's kickass.
If we have a remake, it's hard to not compare it with the original because both of them adapted from the same…
People who don't understand the themes of the original story kept complaining about the lack of romance, Chiaki being mean to Nodame, too much weird comedy, etc. So now they get a remake that gives them shit tons of irrelevant romance, boring and rubbish plots, and watered down leads who have zero personality and do nonsensical things - at the expense of the classical music and proper character growth for almost every character in the story.
The source material was an ode to classical music, and the characters lived and breathed that world. Everyone was quirky in his or her respective ways, even Chiaki who seemed the most sane at times (hence the comedy), but there was much growth for each of them personally and professionally. The remake trashed all of that completely.

The big reveal ep was pretty nicely done (maybe not so much the resulting fight, which was a little meh).
