I was re-watching OMSL and figured that she’s Wei Shao’s Mom from TPOB (my fave cdrama ever). Her beautiful smile is so recognizable now that I’m slowly getting back into cdramas

Bwahaha! That’s exactly how I feel about YY being a guest too! I’ve seen multiple short clips here and there of his works and although handsome — I don’t see myself setting aside an hour of my life watching his shows.
P.S. Don’t get me started on LYN, he’s so unhealthy for me right now! I’ve probably watched most of his Eng subbed content lately because I’m feigning for his new modern drama to drop 😅

I watched this show awhile back and the FL is responsible for making it a very boring show for me. I had never seen YY before nor after this show, but from what I remember — he was doing the best job possible with an unreceptive FL. I stopped by this page because I’m going to start watching the movie version soon, which has really good reviews.

Whoa, this was an epic Cmovie and now I’m crying buckets! It had been on my PTW list for awhile but I wasn’t ready to watch it until today. 😭

The ML Couple were such great actors, portraying the life of a school bullying victim whom was studious and had a goal of passing the college entrance exam to secure a better future for her mother and herself. She slowly befriended a street-roughened misfit who had a lifestyle of violence and small-time crimes, his only knowledge of survival. As her surroundings engulf her into continuous despair, she seeks an abundance of protection from him to help secure her future, as well as, their future together. This was an epic modern love story of pure sacrifice in the midst of storm of angst-ridden hopelessness of adolescence. 👏

The storyline, casts, production and cinematography were all top-notch. These actors are all unknown to me and I’m looking forward to see ZDY and JY’s other works. I noticed the pretty bully girl, which acted the role well here, is in a current airing drama but I’m avoiding because I despise FLs that aren’t passable as a disguised boy. I guess AJTL’s Princess/Prince disguise by HeLanDou is raising my standards lol

I didn’t open your spoiler comment but do you recommend reading the novel before the drama? I’m kind of glad I didn’t discover TPOB’s novel until after I watched it’s cdrama

Sheesh, I’m new to cdramas and this is the 1st time I’m looking forward to a cdrama that hasn’t dropped. Why am I so impatient for LYN’s next project? Heard this drama might be spicier than TPOB. Uff, be still my heart!

Yas, we’ll said! The physical contrast between the gruff masculinity and soft femininity of Wei Shao and Qiao Man, especially in the scene where he lifted the red curtain and met her eyes, sucked me into their story!

I’m resisting re-watching for the 3rd time but it’s so hard for me to find another drama of this caliber. LYN hits me hard in the feels and I’m still on the hunt for another ML like him. If anyone can recommend another drama like TPOB, please send me reccs 😘

Thanks for this comment. It’ll help me avoid. I don’t know the actor but expressionless actors are a pet peeve. Regardless of character’s stoicism, micro-expressions are needed to show the depth of the character

Very cute drama with an awkward ML couple and a 2ML that starts annoyed but warms up shortly. I rated it an 8.5 but will not be re-watching

I started this Cvariety show for LYN and Epi1 was hilarious with him and all the Members during those ice breaking games! I laughed so hard! This was my 1st Chinese variety show and I prefer their editing compared to Korean variety shows. Looking forward to Epi4

I got tricked into watching a historical cdrama, which I’ve long avoided, and loved every minute of it’s slow-burn, angst-ridden, fierce-enmity-to-everlasting-love story between the uber gruff Warrior WeiShao and intelligently cunning Beauty XiaoQiao. I’ve already re-watched within 2 weeks of discovering this drama and still find myself watching edits of TPOB between failing attempts of deflecting with other dramas.


Also, LYN is so friggen’ hot with his facial scowls, towering height and husky commanding voice! Who knew this humble dorky guy could sing too? I’ve been discovering his Chinese melodies song covers from his streaming days too!

I disliked the obsessive 2nd ML character who took over most of the show, completely unnecessary to draw that out for so long. As for the ending of last episode, I completely abhor it since it doesn’t make any sense to me as an American Asian. Was that supposed to be a dream or reality? Why was that support Princess character given the screen time?!

I never knew intuitive convos and endless hugs between the MLs after they got together (for 30+ episodes) could actually get boring but it happened during binge-watching and I found myself skipping through a lot of their scenes. I would’ve preferred more love scenes between the ML Couple.

I gave this an 8.5 rating because I’m not a fan of historical dramas that have tragic endings (the synopsis says to prepare!) but I stayed for LYN and liked the bad arse FL character, the growth of the Princess, and the brotherhood of the men that were part of this mission.

He totally fits the roles of these masculine Chinese Historical Prince/General/Leader (I wonder if he’s been in a King role before? He would look good there too).

I binge watched TPoB and ADWaD in 1 week, now moving onto AJtL. After these 3 dramas, I’m not sure what other historical dramas of LYN to watch since some of those have actresses that I try to avoid because I don’t understand the hype of their fandom. Any suggestions?

LYT is a new discovery for me too and I love her bold, yet still feminine voice. She was perfect for this FL character and was extremely engaging when breaking the 4th wall and her hilarious antics of trying NOT to marry the “tyrant”. Bwahaha!

At this point of my minimal cdrama knowledge, ADWaD cdrama is a spectacular 10 rating for me and my highest re-watch value cdrama ever! This whole production was top-notch — 2nd Leads were so especially adorable, the supporting characters were such gems, an amazing storyline of a modern FL falling into a dream of a ridiculously dramatic historical script that she’s working on and unintentionally twists it into a fantasy comedy show for the viewers with her presence. This drama not only left me in stitches from laughing so much but also made me cry ugly tears with their awesome acting skills. 🥰

TPoB is a spectacular cdrama! I’ve always tried to avoid political genre shows (although I love historical costumes) but the YT clips of the ML couple and their hate-to-love fierceness brought me here. I’m not familiar with any of these actors but the commanding General character of Wei Shao was epically portrayed by LYN and his micro-expressions. I hope to discover his other projects next. The quick-witted and eloquent Wife that melted the General’s fierce exterior was perfectly portrayed by SZE. The supporting cast all fit well in their roles and made the plot and cinematography as amazing as ever. Definitely a 10 rating and a high re-watch value for me! 👏🥰
