I also shipped Gao Leng with Qing Qing before Chen Shu appeared in episode 3. I'm going to give their relationship the benefit of a doubt as it's still early days yet and Chen Shu seems to be the most mature of the bunch.
I was also trying to place where I saw 'Chen Su' before and saw that she was in 'Before We Get Married' which I loved because of Jasper and Puff's sizzling chemistry.
Still airing though right? Fingers crossed. iQiYi's YT counting down to the show premiering in 87 minutes. Hope they'll get the technical difficulties sorted in time!
A bit confused about the Shen Qiong that appeared in the memories caused by the snake pheromones in 1945 when Fo Ye (Zhang Qi Shan) was still alive - there were scenes of her during the experiments and with Fo Ye.
From what I gathered: - 1945 Shen Qiong has the same name and face as Li Cu's childhood friend Shen Qiong who probably died in the desert (Guo Toujing) with her parents when they got sick - fake Shen Qiong (Wang Xiaoyuan / aka Wang clan) replaced the real Shen Qiong (Li Cu's childhood friend) - then who was 1945 Shen Qiong? why does she have the same name and face as the Shen Qiong in the 2010's?
Cheesy writing / disjointed plot, borderline terrible and overdramatic acting but I can't help but watch it (with lots of fast forwarding in between) just to find out about FL's past and glimpse the, too-little IMHO, scenes of FL & ML together. Li Hong Yi is the one carrying the show and his standoffish character reminds me a bit of his Xiao Se in TBOY.
In saying that, I did appreciate the underground scenes as it gave up an insight to FL's second life/death and the Crown Prince wasn't hateful and rather pitiable like the FL said in episode 8.
Looking forward to this when it airs so that we can get more insight on Bai Li Dongjun and Ye Ding Zhi's story - especially after finding out from the synopsis above they were best friends. In The Blood of Youth, Bai Li Dongjun claimed he single-handedly killed Ye Ding Zhi...
Bai Shu as Xiao Ling Chen <3 Killed it in episode 33, can't wait to see 34 after watching the trailer - having his father's name cleared of the 'Langya Mutiny' treason.
Well, that was released without much fanfare after the last release debacle. I really hope they didn't cut out all the good swoon-worthy scenes, like they did with A Romance of the Little Forest. At least leave us with some kisses.
Easily the most easy to watch drama thus far. What a year for us and Bai Jing Ting - starting 2022 with 'Reset' and ending with 'New Life Begins'. :)
My eyes can't help but immediately go to Bai Jing Ting's beauty marks whenever he's on-screen, especially the one under his right eye. So mesmerizing <3
I was worried about this drama being 40 episodes, but 10 episodes in and I can't get enough of our ML & FL. Such a light-hearted drama and at the moment angst-free. So far none of the characters are detestable - Song Wu is like a bratty younger sister, spoiled but has no real ill intentions, 3rd and 5th brother adding comedic value, the main wife of the legitimate prince also has a relatable side as we see in the luo shi fen (snail rice noodles) scene, and the legitimate prince while not the best husband or person hasn't done anything yet to deliberately sabotage our ML.
Of course loving the slow blossoming romance between ML & FL but more so, the friendship between all the ladies in the show. Oh and of course all the nosy servants in the show (the butler, maids, and cooks), they're awesome.
Fingers crossed that they won't introduce unnecessary drama or angst just for the sake of fillers.
This is my favorite couple of the year. They compliment each other so well! So far the series does not disappoint!…
I'm with you there. So far, they share 90% of screentime which takes away from the other 'couples', but I'm so not complaining. Easily the sweetest onscreen couple this year.
Agree with you on both Li Dai Kun and Lee Soo Hyuk's voices. Adding to the list: Yang Yang, Wang Kai, Jeremy Tsui and Lee Sun Kyun - all who have those deep voices that make me swoon. <3
