Re: Chen Xinhai, he's a Tencent prince aka 鹅太子 (heavily affliated to Tencent) so he's getting a push by them. This project was planned since 2024 but couldn't find a suitable FL, Song Zuer was offered and accepted the role before Demon Hunter's Romance & Prisoner of Beauty aired, i.e when she was still "frozen" and she was happy they still trusted her. Apparently she signed a partial affiliation agreement with Tencent so taking a new actor like Chen Xinhai under her wing and "digesting" this novel IP (the rights will expire so there is a limited amount of time to film) is her task before she's given her better roles. It's a 渡劫 aka she needs to do this project to pave her return to C-ent and get used to filming again after 2 years.
i always thought zhang yuxi was a bad actress. watching her now, i think it was her voice because her facial expressions…
She needs the right type of role, this Older Sister Alpha Female Seductress role suits her 100% since she's tall and sexy irl, I can't think of many actors who could've portrayed Ye Meng similarly well without it being cringe (Dilreba maybe?) when the FL chases the younger ML. Yuxi makes it very believable that the younger ML would fall in love because she's got sex appeal in spades and doesn't look like a "goody 2 shoes" like most C-actresses.
In her other works she doesn't portray Older FL-Younger ML pairs often, maybe she should.
I have a confession to make. I started this because I thought it was a steamy drama hahhaa I mean come on I need…
It's because he has depression (notice the mental illness pill bottles in episode 2 that the FL saw when she went to his house for water or his wrist scar) and hasn't ever been emotionally or physically intimate before, so he's awkward when it comes to actually doing it lol
When LYJ says he's scum to the FL in ep 1 he doesn't mean he's a playboy, he just means he's not a dependable man and will let her down in hopes of scaring her off. He gets a lot of Wechat requests but presumably is afraid of intimacy due to his depression.
This is a really good novel, too bad Youku has the rights because it limits the actors who can act in it. It's…
Hopefully it can be remade in the manner of Someday or One Day, it's super sweet and I kept thinking of Accusefive's 好不容易 when reading because the main couple face a lot of challenges to undo the past
This is a really good novel, too bad Youku has the rights because it limits the actors who can act in it. It's not easy to play the gender swap roles especially the ML since he's supposed to be a cold tall CEO who becomes a sweetheart when the FL's soul in in him. If it has to be a Youku affiliated actor IMO maybe Arthur Chen (19yo university student with a female soul inside & 27yo CEO) ? The FL plays a 17yo short haired high schooler with a male soul and a 25yo financial analyst/illustrator.
the novel has a happy ending.https://mydramanovel.com/deep-eyes/
I can't believe the director is American yet he can't make sure to name this drama Deep Affection or Deep Eyes ☠️
Deep Affection Eyes is grammatically incorrect Engrish, MangoTV needs better translators (i love everything about this show except the English title please don't kill me lol)
A moment I felt Jinyu truly had a thing for her was when he trustingly waited for her to drive when anyone straight-thinking would've got the hell out of that car for their own safety 😂😂😂
I'm sorry, but I don't see what others are seeing in SZR. I've dropped dramas (two of them were adaptations of…
I really hope Song Zuer doesn't act with Xukai because as mentioned, she's a well known child actor who doesn't need to get involved with actors whose fans aren't happy with her and want to cause trouble or bully her. She doesn't have an agency currently and is quietly filming her new drama, she barely posts online and doesn't have any endorsements. Zuer is seen as someone in acting for the long run; she's not limited to idol dramas and does 正剧 as well... It's silly to say she's trying to step on Xukai for fame, maybe other actresses but Zuer didn't start acting at 7 years old in 2005 for nothing, why would she need to use her costar's fame when she spent her childhood working in dramas and Xukai debuted much later in 2018? Please be logical.
Ultimately it's a lot better for Xukai to do dramas with lesser known actresses who are willing to let him have the limelight, have less scenes than him since his fans demand it.
I hope he doesn't accept this one I see a lot of rumors about this 😢. It's said that 🐧wants them in a drama…
I barely watch dramas tbh, I'm mostly a novel/audiobook fan but I do follow SZE and a few actresses mostly, as for Xukai I'm familiar with his career and watched him in that drama with Yangzi which I dropped (he did pretty well IMO but it's not the kind of drama or role to attract fans) , I do hope for his sake he gets another viral hit role. My point is that Song Zuer isn't competing with Xu Kai for roles (she's an actress, female) and she's on a different track i.e. The child-star-turned-adult-actor route so why are fans here accusing her of stepping on him when she doesn't need to? She's barely online and has no agency unlike Xukai, so she has nobody to smear her costars like Yuzheng is prone to do very often. Please stop acting like everyone in C-ent is as low as Yuzheng, Xukai's boss is the lowest of the low (convicted plagiariser, often starts public billing fights on Weibo, makes posts targeting actors not in his agency like Dengwei, Allen Ren, Rosy Zhao...) yet you guys are here accusing Song Zuer of stepping on him when Yuzheng literally does that constantly online? Again Zuer is a former child actor whose skills and visuals are widely recognised similar to Yangzi, Leo Wu, Angel Zhao, Guan Xiaotong, Landy Li and these actors are able to access better scripts and roles due to their extensive record in the industry. For instance they are casted to film 正剧 aka serious dramas aka non-romance dramas that air on CCTV not just idol webdramas even though they are in their 20s, and they do not use dubbing. Xu Kai has a lot of experience but he isn't on the serious actor track (yet) i.e. he's not filming crime, law, 1950s-1980s, workplace, family, rural village type dramas which are the kind of serious dramas that get on CCTV and get nominated for Magnolia, Feitian, Goldeb Eagle awards. It's not easy to get on this track, your acting skills have to be convincing (Fan Chengcheng got criticised badly for 小巷人家, even Bailu got criticised for Northwards which obviously was a Yuzheng-sponsored vehicle to make the industry take her more seriously lol, nobody watched it and even the Douban rating had bought reviews) and you need to use your own voice.
Also.... No matter how much you think Xukai is mistreated he's literally at a big, well known agency where he got to star in a viral hit drama like Yanxi Palace in his 1st year of acting, all because Yuzheng & Huanyu produced it. All thanks to Yanxi Palace since the start of his acting career he's always had 1ML roles and never had to slowly work his way up like Ao Ruipeng, Leo Luo, Li Yunrui, Ryan Cheng et cetera who aren't signed to big agencies and don't have Xu Kai's opportunities and luck? I really don't understand how you can complain about Huanyu treating him badly (only if compared to Bai Lu.... Please compare to Song Weilong, Zhao Yiqin, Liang Yongqi and all the other Huanyu actors not named Wang Xingyue who's getting a push since his voice and acting are excellent) when he isn't a big 3 acting school graduate nor has he ever trained before yet he is immediately thrown into big productions like Yanxi and given 1ML roles backed up by Yuzheng. He has better resources than 99.9% of Chinese actors despite entering the industry from modelling and having 0 experience, all because Yuzheng favoured him and signed him. To put it bluntly, if Xu Kai left Huanyu it's likely he may be like Hu Yitian i.e. out of work for 2 years after leaving Huace due to the slowdown in the cdrama industry. I'm not saying Huanyu is treating him like a king, but Xu Kai is very, very lucky to have starred in Yanxi Palace all because the drama is produced by his agency and it's allowed him to have the smooth path to fame he's had so far. His role was not pivotal to the success of Yanxi and he ate off Yanxi's success for how many years? Perhaps Xukai can leave Huanyu so we can see whether he can reach that next level without Yuzheng.
I think she has some degree of anorexia ever since she made a comeback (scroll down, when she returned in April…
Don't worry, from what I know the person accusing her (小宴小希, it's a fake pseudonym based on her old bosses' name at Xitian her former agency between 2018-2023) ran off to USA and IIRC they even tried to post on Weibo from USA accusing her of tax evasion and sue Beijing's tax authority even after she was cleared. That Weibo account was later banned. She's obviously stressed out by it given her weight but the fact is, they don't have any legitimate case. She just needs to slowly resume her career and not feel too bad about the dramas she could've filmed (she was confirmed for 焕羽 and strongly rumoured to film Our Generation at the time, I'm kinda glad she didn't seeing how they turned out) or endorsements she lost.
I hope he doesn't accept this one I see a lot of rumors about this 😢. It's said that 🐧wants them in a drama…
None of the Chinese websites are even discussing such a rumor about Zuer, it's so despicable that you guys are making up untruths and calling her names? I really hope she doesn't collab with Xu Kai sigh, he deserves the most doormat-like FL who will not steal his limelight, not outshine his acting, have less scenes than him so please make sure to only choose newbies like Zhao Qing; Zuer started acting in 2005 https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV14m4y1T7Gg/ when Xu Kai was 10 years old, she graduated from Beijing Film Academy as one of the top students of her year and she doesn't need to step on anyone to climb up (Has Xukai ever filmed a 正剧?) given that she was a former child star who gets better resources than Xu Kai e.g. she's casted in Daylight Entertainment dramas like Yangzi, Angel Zhao, Leo Wu and other child stars.
Point is, Zuer's future in her 30s-40s is in acting in serious TV dramas, she's not just an idol webdrama actor like Xu Kai bc she's taken more seriously by the industry as a former child star who successfully transitioned to adult roles. The fact she attended BFA as one of the top students (only BFA, CAD, STA students are considered 科班演员 because it's extremely hard to get in and they are taken more seriously than celebrities who never had any acting training or attended other art universities) means she has access to better connections even if she isn't directly managed by an agency like Xu Kai. From what I know she left her former agency after years of wrangling which led to her tax dispute and she's now running her own work studio while being supported by 壹心 unofficially and partnered to Tencent. Leo Wu, Oliver Chen, Yangzi and many other former child stars prefer fully or partially-autonomous management because they have enough years/connections in the industry to get roles and dramas without any agency pushing them and taking a cut, all they need to do is audition and show their acting skills (successful child-turned-adult actors have more natural talent in acting because that's how they beat 1000s of other kids in their childhood years to win coveted roles) plus they can charge a lower fee if they don't have an agency taking a cut. Thus I highly doubt Song Zuer is capable of stepping on anyone, much less Xukai who's part of a big agency, when she barely posts on Weibo and has no big-name loudmouthed attack dog CEO backing her up like Yuzheng. Jesus
