U should give the manga a try (mangasee), I am curious if you might like Kou better there. If 1 understands his POV he is a good guy, it's a pity the drama didn't do him as justice whilst it glorified Touma a lot.

Really? I think albeit Kou made some mistakes in S2 he wasn't a bad guy and we see him own up for his actions. His (toned down) reasonings and actions made sense (Futaba wanted to be rejected). Overall he made 2 mistakes, relating to Narumi to the point of losing himself in the proceds and not communicating with Futaba (in the manga we actually see him say "let's talk" but Futaba pushed him away)
He didn’t wreck her self-confidence either since around Kou she shined the brightest whilst with Touma she felt guilty, regretful, was quiet and less happy. We can see it when she followed Kou vs when she was with Touma. That's someone the drama really captured well.
The relationship btw her and Touma itself was bad as she kept forcing herself and he tired himself out as he said it. He was insecure, full of anxieties and pressure to change her mind.
That'd said I don't think he was a great guy or as great as the drama tried to paint him as, he basically took advantage of her lowest and forced her intona relationship without really giving her time to move on from her feelings for kou. He was also the 1 who gave Futaba doubts in her head by saying the kiss meant nothing, she should move on and kou had no feelings. We also see him rush her after he noticed Kou trying to fix everything (tbvh the manga shows these things even better).
If I were Futaba, I don't think I would've pickef Touma either since the pressure would be too much and I rather have a guy who admits his faults and learns from it. I don't think she is wrong for giving him a qnd chance.
Kou had me fucked up the whole show, incredibly frustrating character to watch and in the end I didn't even want…
S2 didn’t do him justice but S1 he was good!! He might ne a bit frustrating but if you see his POV and Narumi's influence on him, he is a good guy who learned from his mistake and grew :( It's good they ended up together but i get you- I preferred the manga
I liked what you wrote, maybe I'll add something else from me. . As I watched the last episodes , Kou made my…
Also hun, I wanted to ignore you but this is just too embarrassing to overlook. Honestly you really need to google the word for your own good. I really mean it in a friendly way bc ppl gonna laugh at you if you use it like this in real life.
Maybe this drama is too deep for you to really understand.

"Didn't i tell you not to talk to me" are you 5? Bc that would explain a lot. This is an open discussion you drop a terrible take someone can reply to it. If you don't want that to happen stay quiet, keep it in your head.

You are the first person I've ever seen call a miserable and self-loathing teen a narcisst so I am not sure where you get "the rest from". If anything it's a sad statement of today's society full of illiterates if more would misue the word like this. Like I've seen the worst of the worst takes but this is really a new one. I wonder how you even got that idea.
I've been reading the arguments below about Kou, Futaba, Narumi and Kikuchi. What I don't understand is, why Kou…
Man I love how according to some of you Kou is in his (narcisstic) villain arc whilst ya be turning a blind eye towards touma's behaviour. I wonder if it's the drama'd fault that non of you grasped Kou's POV, the story, what he's going through or why he did that.

I don't feel like interacting with you bc I know u enjoy villainising Kou and lack reading btw the lines but girl you'd do good in googling what narcissistic behavior actually is before throwing it at a teen who literally apologises for mistakes he makes!! Have u ever seen a narcisst saying "i'm sorry?" No they wouldn't.
"has no right to use people -who care about him - to forget his pain"
Who exactly is he usuing to feel better bc last time I checked Narumi took advantage of his trauma to make him stay at her side? He just seeing himself reflected in her and he never used Futaba to make hinself feel good. I am really wondering where you got that from.
Honestly for the fact that AHR is a pretty comprehensible story some of you really get 0 points in grasping it but maybe it's the drama's fault.
Honestly it's weird bc in the manga Kou explains hownit was never aboit Narumi, that he had 0 intention of being…
And Kou knew Futaba ain't his therapist that's why he sorted things out on his own (with Futa/Kominato's help) and rejected her bc he was afraid of hurting her in the relationship
I mean Touma is pick me that manipulated a vulnerable girl into a relationship because he saw kou trying to fix…
I think it does come across in the drama too given how pushy he is, how he rushed and how he didn’t accept her no after he saw Kou hugging Futaba in the classroom

In the manga it was pretty clear that's what Touma was doing and he flat out said "I know I took advantage of your lowest, out pressure on you and forced you into a relationship).
Emotional Manipulation usually happens without the person being aware of it. Touma directed her to the point he wanted her to be. She even told him no but he didn't accept and kept pestering till she gave in. Futaba was at her lowest.
