Title Not Others Spoiler
The mother was insufferable in ep6. Before, I just accepted her behaviour as their mother/daughter/sibling dynamic, but I was pretty shocked that she just complaints and blames JH for remembering past worries instead of asking herself why her daughter didn't feel safe enough with her.

This had the weirdest instrumental OST I've ever encountered in a drama. Most often it just really didn't fit the mood and took me completely out of any emotion.

Somehow, I'm not really feeling the characters and relationships. I think, it's because we didn't actually see them all fall in love, it was more this destiny thing where they're just meant to be with each other, and therefore drawn to another. It's lazy romance developing, since I'm supposed to root for them, just because! - not because I actually saw how they fit together.
I'm watching this solely for the plot, but I wouldn't even be sad if anyone died, to be honest.
I did like all the child actors a lot, I feel like I got to know them much better than their adult versions.
And even though this is shorter than usual, it still feels like the story is dragging on, because not much gets revealed per episode and the characters are not engaging enough for me, personally.

Please share your theories on their first lives and its relation to their present lives!!! I really wanna know😫🫶🏻
my guess is that Yoon Cho Won and Ha Do Yoon have been lovers in their past lives as well, but Ha Do Yoon was someone very important, like a Crown Prince or something and Minki and Seo Ha were ordered to kill Yoon Cho Won to get her out of the way. both Minki and Seo Ha were probably in love with Jieum

I honestly feel so bad for LQ. He may seem like the bad person right now, but I can truly relate to how heavy the pressure on him is. His parents treat him like it's his obligation to earn them a better life. For them, their love and care was an investment, and now it's his responsibility to not let it turn sour. But life is truly not easy for him, and every time he gathers some strength, there is just another problem pulling him underwater.
I think it's important to remember, that he has been a really nice guy so far. His struggles don't define his character, because we know he would be so different if his circumstances would be.

He is angry because he doesn't get a chance to breathe, and he seems ungrateful because at some point when you're so poor and everyone knows about it, not having money becomes your personality, it becomes the only thing you ever think about. You're scared, and you don't know how to move forward, you stop to dream and become hopeless. You start to hate yourself and everyone involved, start to hate your friends and family because you feel worthless in their eyes because you cannot do better, and the shame and guilt drives you mad.
It's a tricky paradox between getting used to other's help and never feeling like it helped anywhere at all.
I don't think he is really ungrateful, it's just that the more you are in help of others, the more you feel ashamed because you cannot imagine ever giving some of it back, and you worry that you become more and more of a burden to your loved ones.

LQ is feeling burned out, he needs not only financial help but also mental help. He needs time to just be and not care, and relax, to think and pull over his thoughts, without feeling like there is impending doom. And all the hate he accumulated for himself and his family and the world, they all nourish the other bad feelings.
I'm not sure if anyone who wasn't ever dirt poor can truly understand how difficult it is to even save a penny, because just like money makes more money, debt creates more debt. It's a deadly cycle and there is never a guaranteed way to get out of it.

I just cannot think of LQ as an antagonist, because though it's not their obligation, I feel like most characters made light of his problems, as if it's just so easy to chase after your dream with sheer determination when annihilation follows you like a shadow.

I won't undermine how hard TouTou has worked in her past life and now while studying, but right now she does have it much easier than LQ. She has no financial problem right now, and before she only had to care for herself, all her trouble had only consequences for herself. LQ has entirely different conditions compared to her. And on top of that, TouTou was lucky enough to be kind of adopted into a family that support her from all angles and let her feel safe and inspired. LQ has none of that and the worst thing is, I think he is aware, that a safety net like that cannot be achieved through hard work. Not even his parents let him feel safe, they only add on more pressure every time they talk to him, complain and make it harder. And with not even his crush wanting to give him a chance, I can imagine how unloved he feels.
With all this pressure, I don't expect him to see that there are people in his life willing to help, that his friend do care, that maybe he should open up a little more about his struggles and that he doesn't need to feel ashamed for his conditions.

It's just a few episodes too long
otherwise very great. I love the actors, their chemistry is amazing. and I really am onboard with the other couples too, usually very bored with secondary couples but these were nice

It feels like this has both the charm of older K-dramas and the strong female leads of today combined. Like somehow this drama was nothing new and still so fresh and entertaining.
I really, really liked this one. It was unexpectedly amazing.
