A Promising Story Ruined by Unrealistic Effects

The movie Carter had a lot of potential in terms of its story, but unfortunately, it gets completely overshadowed by its execution. The plot idea itself is interesting and could have made for a really intense and gripping action film. However, the overuse of CGI and special effects really takes away from the experience.

At times, the effects feel so artificial that it almost looks like they were generated by AI. Instead of enhancing the action, they make everything feel exaggerated and unrealistic. The fight scenes, in particular, are hard to take seriously because they lack any sense of realism or physical weight.

It even gives off the vibe of those overly exaggerated action films where everything is too flashy and poorly executed, which makes it difficult to stay immersed in the story.

What’s especially disappointing is that Joo Won is actually a very talented actor. He has proven himself in other films and dramas with strong performances, so it’s surprising to see him in a project where the acting feels overshadowed by chaotic direction and strange visual choices.

Overall, Carter feels like a missed opportunity — a film with a solid concept that gets lost in excessive, poorly executed special effects and unrealistic action sequences.
