i had barely given him any thought in the earlier episodes but the amount of screentime he got made me think that the makers tried doing some damage control by portraying him as a heartbroken good guy,,,he's not that nice. he knew what he was doing and what consequences his actions had.

you're correct. but 90% of my comments come from a very biased pov because i absolutely adore joong (therefore i love kluen too,,,,idk it's twisted). also, the whole being very determined thing gets on my nerves lol. it might sound annoying and way too difficult to do irl but if you see two people who are crazy in love with each other, you leave them alone. i would have maybe sympathized with phoon if they'd shown us more of his feelings but because i know the bigger picture, i don't think it would have been a huge amount of sympathy.
