Realizing this, Susumu threatens Shuji. In the temple, suddenly Shuji fatally stabs Susumu to death. When Shuji claims an alibi that he was on Koijima, Aki confronts him with evidence that his yacht is moored at Niihama. During the rain, Shuji also killed Kaname by falling him from the bridge to silence him. It turns out that Shuji accomplice that will pays him for 150 million yen after prevent Rei from winning the competition whom he refers to was Saya's mother, Kazue. Inspector Shimizu arrives there and listens to the recording of a cassette tape. In a recording, Susumu had borrowed a safe deposit box from a bank, and a tape recording of a conversation between Kazue and Shuji was found in it. Shuji was suspicious that the two people, who were supposed to be rivals, were in frequent contact, and had set up a bugging device in Kazue's car. After the truth was revealed, as the police are about to arrest Shuji, suddenly he took Rei hostage. However he accidentally steps on the poisoned needle that he planted before, killing him in process.

The motive why Masaya to kill Seicihi was he burdened with billions yen in debt due to past excavation failures. In order to repay his debt, Masaya decided to bring his mistress, Aya, and he lets her stay with his second wife, and later became as his secretary. He then provoked Seiichi to cooperate in the excavation of gold on the main forest road. However, when Yukio came looking for the wolf, he mistook him for another treasure hunter and killed him. A year later, he committed a series of crimes to conceal Yukio's death, and eventually killing Seiichi by sickle to his neck. As Masaya are about to kill Nami, he instead hit the bench stone while she fled, causing his head bleeds. After that, Masaya then accuses Aya for betraying him, as she tells the fact why he killed them and he trying to cheating from her. Feeling unaccepted, Masaya then violently attacks Aya by strangling at her. Then the police arrives and both Masaya and Aya were handcuffed, arresting them for murder.
Fun fact: Masaya is trying to kill his own accomplice, Aya by strangling at her because he feels betrayed and feeling unaccepted.
The true culprit in the series was Mari's own husband, Yanagisawa Takashi (Ohashi Goro). After Takashi admitted he killed his wife, he decides to silence Asako and Junko by killing both of them. After Asako was cornered by Takashi while he holding a knife, Junko prevents him while he heard police sirene. After that, Takashi chases Asako and as he try to kill her, Junko protects her while she was stabbed and sacrifices her life. The police then arrived with Asako's husband, Kyohei. When Kyohei are about to arrest Takashi, he resists by swinging the knife toward him, then slashes Kyohei's hand. Kyohei responded with hitting Takashi's hand who holding the knife to the place sign three times until his knife dropped, and eventually handcuffed, arresting him for murder.
Fun fact: Takashi was unaccepted after he accidentially killed his own accomplice, Junko, who tries to protect Asako. As he about to finish Asako off, the police arrives.
