The true culprit in the series was Asakura Nobuo (Ino Manabu).
At one scene, when journalist Iwamura Taeko (Fujitani Miki) entered an apartment room, as she looking around and found the projector that shows "Eve" on the screen, suddenly Taeko was kidnapped by someone. As Totsugawa asks to Nakayama Eiji (Kurosu Hirotsugu) about the information regarding Sakiko, suddenly he heard help voices from Taeko, prompting Totsugawa to break the door. Then he found Taeko was being held captive. After Totsugawa releases her, Eiji are about to escape, but he able to prevents him. Taeko became mad to Eiji, and she accuses him to abduct her.
Taeko later kidnapped again by someone after left the hotel. She was later found in a hut by Kamei, hinted by her cellphone was found near the scene.
At the night of festival, Totsugawa and others are looking for Nobuo. After they involved in a chase, suddenly Nobuo was tripped and he was immidiately handcuffed, arresting him for murder. In response of Nobuo was arrested, suddenly Umeki Shiro (Kawaguchi Rikiya) took Sakiko's sister, Miyako (Harada Kana) hostage by pointing the knife at her. Shiro forces Miyako to admit the crime that her secretary kills his mother 3 years ago. After Miyako told that she doesn't know about Shiro's mother murder and completely denies it, he forcefully releases her. As Shiro are about to commit suicide by drowning himself to the river, but Totsugawa prevents him. Totsugawa tells to Shiro that he shouldn't waste his life by trying to forgive the deceased by killing himself. Then Nozaki arrested Nobuo and eventually admitted that he killed Sakiko.
During the interrogation, Nobuo was the secretary of Shubiki Daizo (Nishioka Takuma), and confesses everything. Daizo's daughter, Sakiko became a call girl and started working in the hotel district of Kabukicho under the name Eve. If this became known to the public, Daizo's path to return to politics would be completely cut off, and his future as a son-in-law would also be damaged. On the night of the incident, he pretended to be a guest and took Sakiko out to a deserted place and murdered her by strangling by his tie. After that, he broke into the apartment and took away everything that could reveal his identity. Totsugawa says Nobuo was detected at the airport on the day Sakiko's murder. At that time, he accidentialy met with Kyohei and parted ways, but later, when Kyohei learned that Sakiko had been killed in Tokyo and began to have suspicions to him, so he killed him by drown him. It was Nobuo who killed Shiro's mother 3 years ago. His motive was to avoid a succession struggle. In addition, Nobuo helps Shiro to escape from hospital room. Nobuo is telling about his life to the police that he was only child and raised by her mother with poor condition.
On the next day, Totsugawa meets Daizo and reported that his secretary had been arrested for the murders, and asking for his moral responsibility as a politician. But suddenly Daizo finally took responsibility by resigns and retire the politics.

The true culprit in the series was Takeda Shintaro (Fuse Hiroshi) and Takanashi Kazuhiko (Tatsukawa Go).
At the venue where an academic conference was held, Totsugawa and his colleagues are guarding the venue are waiting for Ono. As Shintaro goes out, suddenly Ono arrives as he holding the knife. As Ono are about to charge, but Totsugawa quickly stops him.
At the hospital director room, Totsugawa and others arrives as they about to search the room. Junpei then shows the arrest order, which the police arrested Shintaro.

The true culprit in the series was Machida Takao (Akasaka Akira).
After the floppy disk were retrieved from Takao's apartment, Totsugawa makes the conclusion of the case:
- Akira was stabbed inside the station restroom
- Shiro was fallen from the bridge
- Takao kills Mayumi by using his wrist. After she was dead, he drowns her to the river
- Takao strangles Yoko by rope inside his car
- Takao rigs Kiyoyuki's car
As Miyamoto Takashi (Kaai Gamon) left from the bus, detectives Junpei and Nishimoto secretly follows him to the hotel. Because Nishimoto told to Junpei that Takashi is missing, Totsugawa goes into action. Takashi goes to the snack bar by dressed as a woman, and finally meet with Takao. Takao then threatens Takashi with knife. Meanwhile Totsugawa suddenly saw Takao took Takashi to the rooftop. There, Takao took the knife to threaten Takashi as he tell to him that he was the responsible for instigating his sister to commit suicide and he want to take revenge against him. Suddenly Totsugawa and others arrives to stop him. Unfazed, Takao took Takashi hostage as he tell them that wants to fulfill his sister's promise. Then Takao forces Takashi to read his sister letter. But Takashi denies the involvement, prompting Takao to make the force, but Takashi has made it. As Takao concedes, Totsugawa able to rescue Takashi, but Takao jumps off from the building, killing him in process.

Fun fact:
Takao previously served time in prison for stabbing a man, who is trying to rape his girlfriend. Takao appears to stop the man and fatally stabs him, thus his girlfriend saved.
