The true mastermind behind the killings was Hasegawa Tadashi (Kazama Morio). Matsunami Fumie (Higashioka Izumi) was the culprit for killing Kitazumi.
Feeling enraged after Kazuko dies, Totsugawa and Kamei approaches Tadashi, who is decorating his clinic model. Tadashi told to Totsugawa that he saw the news. Kamei shows to Tadashi a copy of Kenichi's bank transactions from last year, and deposited by cash. But Tadashi claims the money received from Fumie, as Kamei shows the money transactions was withdrawn from Kenichi the day before and a evidence of secret meetings between Kenichi and Fumie. Tadashi questioned the meeting with Fumie because she couldn't stand the persistent threats, but Totsugawa suspect him for using brilliant hypnotherapy to make Yuka into multiple personalities and then kill someone. Tadashi claimed it was imagination, but Totsugawa shows the letter about turning someone by using hypnosis and tell to die. Tadashi maniacally laughs, telling that they should get out, but Totsugawa says he working on life-threatening cases and fight against the culprit, whatever means. Tadashi told to Totsugawa that he shouldn't be able to arrest or put him in court, but Totsugawa tells to him that the media doesn't take such a leisurely approach. Tadashi became angry, with Totsugawa puts the Tadashi's resignation letter. Unaccepted, as Totsugawa corners Tadashi, telling him that no matter he being followed all day long, bu Tadashi insists denies for assisting the murders. Totsugawa kicks his leg, causing Tadashi being cornered as Kamei closes the door. As cornering Tadashi, Totsugawa asking to compare the murder and throws the clinic model, then stomps it, making Tadashi crying histerically and became crazy. Meanwhile, Fumie was arrested for killing Kitazumi, as she was surrounded by reporters.

The true culprit in the series was Saegusa Yudai (Otani Ryosuke). Haraguchi Yuko (Kikuchi Momoko) was the culprit behind the killing of Shogo.
At the ship, Yudai approaches to Yuko and both goes to the tower in Shonan. Yuko questioned Yudai, he admits for killing Yuki. In response, Yuko take out the knife, but Yudai quickly snatches the knife from her. Totsugawa arrives and tells he actually killing Yuki, but Yudai took Yuko hostage. Yudai insists on his claim that Yuki is died due to heart attack, but Totsugawa shows the piece of paper which was found at Masayoshi's villa. The piece is broken when the vase breaks, but Yudai yelled that it wasn't him, but Totsugawa says he actually brings Yuki, who is now killed, to the room. Yudai again yelled, telling that one of his men kill Yuki, urging Totsugawa to read the doctor's letter in order to know. Totsugawa corners him, but Yudai asks him to make a deal as he's getting cornered and threaten to kill Yuko.
Totsugawa grabs the knife as Yudai are about to attack him, causing his hand bleeds. Yudai kicks Totsugawa and escapes, but Totsugawa grabs and then punches Yudai, telling him that he won't forgive those who betraying Yuko. Totsugawa then punches Yudai several times until Kamei stops him, causing Yudai's face bleeds laying down, then inspector Teranishi handcuffs Yudai, arresting him for the murder of Yuki. After Yudai was arrested, suddenly Totsugawa saw Yuko are about to kill herself by the knife, but he quickly saves her.
During the interrogation, Yuko told to Totsugawa that she was feeling better when the culprit who murdered her daughter was jailed. Her reason was she wanted to reveal the truth about Yuki who is having the knowledge to be conveyed accurately.

At Chuzenji Lake, Takagi Akiko (Hoshino Mari) arrives by taxi and she was confronted by Ichimura. Ichimura then takes out a gun in order to kill her, but Totsugawa and others arrives to stop him. As Ichimura pointed the gun to Totsugawa, he told to him that Akiko gave birth to his child and raised him alone in order to avoid disturbing him. As he about to shoot Totsugawa, he shot Ichimura's gun instead. Unaccepted after his gun dropped by Totsugawa, Ichimura instead took Akiko hostage by pointing the knife at her. Totsugawa then tells to Ichimura that at Yumi's request, Akiko is actually trying to protect him. After Ichimura gave up, he was immediately arrested. Then Akiko's son, Masashi (Ishizuka Shion), accompanied by her mother, Fumiko (Nemoto Ritsuko), arrives. Masashi then finally back into his mother's arm.

Kirino Sawako (Akimoto Naomi) is heading to the hut by taxi, but the driver turns out was Keiichiro. Then he held Sawako captive. Keiichiro forces Sawako to give her phone. Keiichiro then calls Wakasugi Toshiro (Sato B-saku), as he about to the hut. After Toshiro arrives by taxi, as he about to rescue Sawako, he was knocked out by Keiichiro with knife, making Sawako scared. Totsugawa and Kamei arrives by helicopter.
As Keiichiro are about to finish off Toshiro by shotgun, suddenly Totsugawa arrives and shot his hand. Feeling not give up, he quickly picks the shotgun and flees, while Totsugawa chases after him. Kamei arrives for releasing Sawako and Toshiro. At the forest with fog, Totsugawa dodges when Keiichiro is trying to shot him, then he flees. After Totsugawa appears from the fog, Keiichiro resists, but Totsugawa quickly apprehends and arrested him.

The true mastermind behind the killings was Katori Shinichiro (Sakai Masaaki).
Near the lake, Totsugawa asks Katori that the incidents happen during fireworks festival, but he claims it would be possible to create multiple personalities. Katori told to Totsugawa that hhuman was fragile things, but he want to be a rich, great person, sleep with these woman, get married and keep asking for selfish wishes. He says that to be a person from the dream, but now falling into total evil or driving evil to their brains. Totsugawa saying Katori that he mind-controlled Katherine 3 years ago and causing her to killing someone and herself. But Katori claimed neither the cases are wanted revenge for their parents and they were died satisfied. Totsugawa told that Katori using experiment to commit the crime in order to prove that his theory correct, but Katori says it was political that his experimenting were valid. Katori says it was calculated before and challenges to Totsugawa about his accusations, but Totsugawa want to arrest Katori first for fraud and inciting the three woman by mind-controlling them into murderers. As Katori didn't understand the multiple personalities and offers Totsugawa to teach American psychoanalysis, but he refuses. Katori questions Totsugawa's confidence to make him confess and he can't help, but Totsugawa will use any means necessary to fight against him. Katori tells that the long battle between him and Totsugawa is about to start.
After debating, suddenly Hasegawa Rui (Yada Akiko) appears. As Rui are about to shoot Totsugawa, but Nishimoto shot her hand holding the gun, which causes the gun dropped and making her hand injured. After she was injured, Rui angrily yelled to Katori that Katherine was mind-controlled by him and hates him. Totsugawa told to Katori that he actually couldn't control Rui's mind enough in a short amount of time. Katori tells to Totsugawa, no matter how much forensic investigation and surveillance society, he can't change the depths of people's hearts. Katori uses hypnotherapy to in order to make Suzuka and Naomi to kill Shigenobu and Kyoko, respectively. Totsugawa tells to Katori that he learned his past; Katori's sister was died 18 years ago. Katori's sister lived a cramped, boring, and freedomless life. She fell in love with someone during in high school, but his parents never accepts. Instead, Katori locks his sister inside the house and didn't let her out for a long time. Because of it, Katori's sister committed suicide at the age of 17. To avenge his sister's death, Katori killed his own parents by making them look like suicide. Katori confines Masahiko at the basement, and shot him to death. After Katori says he's doing it for his own sake justice, he's crying histerically.

The true culprit in the series was Sawai Takuzo (Morooka Moro).
The police, led by Totsugawa, raids a building where Takuzo's company headquartered. Kamei shows the warrant and they continue find the evidence and seizes it. Meanwhile, Totsugawa and and others goes to the director room. Inside, Takuzo says he hadn't evidence the murder. But Totsugawa tells that even Takuzo is trying to be strong, people are still see him as a weak person. There are people who will stand by a leader who can see the downfall. Takuzo was previously arrested for fraud, but Totsugawa says no healing for someone who entrusts Takuzo's life until end. Totsugawa shows the evidence a poem, found at Akari's house. That night, Takuzo stabs Akari to death. After that, he puts the poem besides her body. Unaccepted after Akira founds Akari body, he kicks Takuzo, then chases him until he plunges himself at the forest.
After listening to Totsugawa's facts, suddenly Takuzo takes out the gun from his desk in order to commit suicide by shot his head, but Kamei prevents him while Mizuki picks it. Totsugawa then asks Mizuki to arrest Takuzo, telling that the case was under the jurisdiction of Gunma Prefectural Police. Mizuki eventually handcuffs Takuzo, arresting him for murder.

The true culprit in the series was Urabe Mitsuyoshi (Nagasawa Toshiya). The mastermind behind it was Sendo Hajime (Oishi Goro).
At one scene, Totsugawa was arrested after Watanabe Hiromi (Nakayama Shinobu), who was arrived by police car, is asking the police to arrest him.
At the sea slope as Nishimoto and Murakawa are watching Hiromi, suddenly from behind, Hiromi was strangled by "Totsugawa", she stratches his neck. "Totsugawa" takes out the knife, Hiromi passes out then as he about to finish her off, suddenly the real Totsugawa shoot him, causing him falls to death.
Three years ago, Mitsuyoshi previously served as detective that investigates the killing of Kazuya. The culprit was the dangerous gangs, and the police quickly arrests them. During the rain, as an IT president company (Osada Takuro) are leaving, suddenly Kazuya's mother, Mariko (Toyama Kyoko) are trying to stab him, but she was prevented by president's men and jointly beats her, then the police quickly arrests them.
At the sea slope, Mitsuyoshi are about to takes out a gun in order to kill Hiromi, it turns out that she actually was Murakawa, who is in disguise as Hiromi. Then Totsugawa and others appears as well. After being told that he exposes that cause the police fired him, Mitsuyoshi tells to Totsugawa that he hates the police, while taking out the gun. Mitsuyoshi fatally shoot Totsugawa, but as he is about to shoot Kamei, his hand was shot by Totsugawa. Mitsuyoshi, whose his hand was badly injured, was quickly arrested by the police. It turns out Totsugawa has wearing the vest, which survives his killing while telling to Kamei.
During the interrogation, Mitsuyoshi urged Totsugawa to stop telling about the case and end the crackdown. While telling to Kamei, Mitsuyoshi claimed that the police are planning to frame Totsugawa, and started to knew that Hiromi is actually female detective, who is in disguise. The disguise Mitsuyoshi said, was Totsugawa's trick and he is in danger. Mitsuyoshi confesses that people whom he worked with at the bento factory have their own reasons, and they ran cafeteria for underprivileged children. Because of this, Mitsuyoshi ruined Mariko's lives. Mitsuyoshi admits for the bribery of Fairy Construction and killed Megumi by the order of the company president. He committed suicide by hanging after that.
On the next day, the police arrested Hajime for masterminding the murder and bribery. Totsugawa told to Hajime that they found one receipt for an Italian designer brand addressed to his own dummy company. The code was matched the furniture of victim's room, and Totsugawa shows the receipt.
