I wish this last (EXTRA) episode had English subs. I watched it without and it seemed really cute and sweet, but I still missed a lot without the translation.
From all the reviews, I was prepared for a horrible, rushed, confusing and open ending. But, it really wasn't that bad. I thought it was actually quite sweetly done. It didn't feel rushed to me. It didn't confuse me either, even though they didn't get into all the little details of why and how (double spoiler: the ML has chemical brain poisoning). That wasn't important. What was important was that they two main leads went through so much together, and just when it would seem all their troubles are over, there's something else. The ML hides the problem and goes off to solve it by himself, and the FL has no idea, but waits for him with full trust and hope (lots of flashbacks while time passes). Eventually, he shows up at a special spot they used to go to and she is there. He is holding the ring that he is ready to give back to her. They stare at each other and smile. He's obviously beaten his illness, and can now marry her. They end it right there without dragging it out. Happy ending!
How did the ML get poisoned? Just my theory, but I think it happened during that last fight with the hired thugs (poacher/killers) in the woods. During the scuffle, something is thrown in his face and he staggers. There was also the incident where he was cut during a fight. He might have been poisoned then. It was much later when he started developing symptoms, and it was stated by his sister that it was quite serious by the time he went for treatment. The details are not really important. The entire sequence of events are there to show us how much the main couple have matured. Mowgli will always try to protect Ling Xi, and he goes off to handle it on his own. Ling Xi knows this by now, and she waits for him even though she doesn't know what is wrong or if she will ever see him again. And when they finally see each other again, they smile. All is right between them.
Finally, there are three other couples and they are all moving forward with their relationships by the end of the drama. The final two episodes are spent wrapping up and showing us where and how all the characters wind up. I really don't think they could have dragged it out much more.
For those of you that loved "The Untamed", you might be interested in the anime, too. All three seasons of "The Founder of Diabolism" are now available on WeTV. Unfortunately, as of Oct 17, 2021, the last episode is posted for VIP only. That episode just aired last night, so that may change soon. Keep a lookout!
Can someone please explain epi 17 or the whole season. It's soo confusing. Aren't Luo Luo and Li Luo same the…
Li Luo and Luo Luo are the same person. Li Luo's spirit/memory/soul (??) comes at the end and says something similar to what she said in season 1 - that she will always be with him. This is different from the six reincarnations in the middle where she dies saying that if she can't be with him, then she can't live. The Li Luo at the end is still alive in Luo Luo, and they are finally together with Ka Suo/Feng Suo - not being torn apart by an early and tragic death.
Ying Kong Shi revived Yan Da (because he cares about her), and they might have finally been together if it were not for Yan Zhu reincarnating with her. But there is still hope for them. At the end Ying Kong Shi comes face to face with his original incarnation, Xian Xue, and they smile at each other. Together they have a chance to change the future (they are gods, right?). Xian Xue was Yan Zhu's best and only friend. Ying Kong Shi is Yan Da's best and only friend. You can bet they will try to make things right this time around. Even if they can't, they will always be best friends in spite of being forced adversaries. Considering their temperaments, a deep friendship is probably more than enough.
There is no season 3, so you can "dream" it however you like. After all, it is a fantasy. Anything goes.
They had one. But you see, it's not all about kissing scenes.
I agree. They were very loving. Like the part where he's in the bathtub grieving the loss of his sister and asks her for a hug. She immediately stepped into the water and into his arms. So emotional and tender. There were many scenes like this. I forget which character said it, but it was one of the household staff that remarked something about the room was always filled with joy whenever they were together. So much love.
Omg ..guys...I'm too late realized this , I just remember why Du Feng isn't has a Cui surname too in FAE, because…
Thank you for this! I've been trying to figure out who else came back in the second life. There were so many hints, but I'm too slow to figure it all out. Comments like: "I must have owed him in a past life." I'm like, wait... which one are you? It would be great if some smart person can put together all the hints. I've even wondered if her parents were the same. Shiyi is still from a family of scholars, still loves books and libraries, mom is still the same toward her daughter, etc...
Now I need to know. Who was Mei Xing in One and Only? Was he Liu ZiXing? If so, he did indeed owe Zhou ShengChen from his past life considering that he wrongly accused him and then had him executed by dismemberment.
Trying to figure out if that whole no kissing stuff is an inside joke, wish they would let us laugh about it too…
The actor that plays the ML, Allen Ren, is known to not do kissing scenes - at least not on the lips. I was surprised that there was one kissing scene, but I think they pulled it off with a body double and careful camera angles. I don't mind too much. The two MLs are such great actors and have wonderful chemistry together. I couldn't help but get sucked in to their slow burn romance. If you have seen the first season - One and Only - their romance seems even sweeter. They are in love in every lifetime. Truly forever and ever.

You can also find it by searching for Darren Wang. It's listed in his actor profile.

EDIT: Based on the actors, I found this title, The Legend of Kaifeng, and it otherwise matches the YouTube link.
