I'm on episode 2 and so close to giving up. I feel like I'm being gaslit by these reviews. What do you mean so many people consider this the best sitcom ever produced. One more fart, diarrhoea, body hair or breastfeeding joke and I'm going to jump. Does it get better or should I just accept that this is not my cup of tea?! Please help

This show is so unserious. Sometimes I can't decide if in a good way or a bad way. I love both MLs though. The UST is really USTing, love the slow-burn of it sooo much. Grandma was my fave this episode, lol. Hope is terrible, and I have a feeling he's going to end up with Aran.

Thank you for actually trying to see my point. And I agree with you, our difference in opinion is not that huge at all. My issue is not with people like you. Of course people can have different opinions about how complete or incomplete the finale felt. To me it felt complete, because there was so much buildup to the realization of feelings, and obviously a lot of self-suppression from Wang's part, so it felt fitting to me that the season would end with him internally panicking and trying to distance himself from Tian. I'm interested to hear other points of view about this and discussing these points, but only as long as the other person is aware that their opinion is just that, an opinion. And having read your comment, the shallow part doesn't apply to you at all in the way that I meant it. I meant people who only care about skinship and kissing and will dismiss any series that doesn't have enough of that to their level of satisfaction, regardless of how good and well thought out the story is or how it actually fits the narrative for them to take it slow.

Then my comment was not for you, lol. I was talking about people who didn't find it "romantic" enough or were complaining about the lack of kissing. But for me personally, the ending felt satisfactory enough, because Wang getting transferred to another class was more symbolic, like he's distancing himself from Tian. That's my two cents anyway, of course people are allowed to feel differently about it

Who said you can't consume media in the way you want? I also in fact watch dramas to distract myself from real-life issues, but guess what, I'm not a child who will throw a tantrum when I'm disappointed that things don't go my way, because in the same way that I understand that people's reasons for watching dramas are different, creators' purposes with dramas are different too. I can appreciate the slow-burn and the show's engagement with serious topics while simultaneously being a person who usually prefers lighter shows instead of bashing this series because it didn't cater to my exact personal preferences. Just because something isn't to your liking doesn't mean it's bad or it should have been different. The entitlement people feel now about scripts being written a certain way is getting ridiculous.

People in this comment section complaining about the season finale proves exactly what is wrong with the "bl" genre in general. "They could have at least given us" "the least they could have done for us" "they gave us nothing" -- who's us? Who are you to demand anything when the it's so obvious that the way you engage with the media you consume is shallow at best and fetishizing at worst? People in here acting like the only way queer relationships can be portrayed is if it satisfies fangirls who want to see guys kiss and that's it. Like the only bounds this genre can exist within without excessive criticism is if it follows the expectations of those who watch mlm content solely because they want to sexualize them. Like the way this show has engaged so mindfully with issues like family, friendship, communication and internalized homophobia is not worthy in and of itself if there's not "enough" fan service. So disgusted with most of this community.

Oh true! Forgot about Love for love's sake. The only kbl that I've really liked in the past year. The ending was a bit rushed and there were some plot holes, but loved it overall.

It's a little bit cheesy, but I actually loved the reveal that Jack has actually been putting up a front and has been secretly paying off his debtors' debts. The "circumstances made him turn bad" trope is overused imo and rarely ever executed well or even explained, so this was quite refreshing. And I know a lot of people are complaining about how unrealistic some things are, especially with the action scenes, but... does it really matter lmao come on, it's not meant to be realistic at all. This is one of those dramas that is so much more enjoyable if you stop caring/complaining about these aspects of it.

Blueming is one of my top 3 BLs of all time, I still think about the beach scene on like a weekly basis lol. So if this is anything like that (same director, right?), I'm going to be so freaking happyyyyyy. No kbl has really delivered for me since The Eighth Sense so !!!! here's to hoping

I find myself looking forward to this one the most out of all the ongoing dramas I'm currently following. This is a light drama that manages to be refreshing, funny, sweet and deep at the same time. I've seen some people mention that Kim Youngdae's acting is stiff at times, but I don't find this to be the case at all. I think he's quite consistent with the way he portrays Jiuk, who is a stiff person in general. I can see how some of his facial expressions could seem unnatural, but I genuinely know people who react to things like that, lol. Imo, the way he brings the character to life is great.

Loved Baek Sungchul in Once Upon a Small Town and I've been waiting for him to get another bigger role so I'm super stoked for this, even if I wish he'd finally get ML in a drama.
