That's a fascinating approach ! I wouldn't have typed Jia Min as an INFP though. I'm also uncertain about Jia Ju being an ENTP. Zheng Bei doesn't seem like an N either to me, rather like a well developed S who accumulated concrete experience which turned into precise understanding and intuition. But I'm far from being an expert, this is just a thought. I agree about the occasional "preachiness". Thanks for sharing.

Thank you also for pointing out the fact there is no BL here, because I'm honestly surprised at the amount of people saying this is clearly a hidden BL... I felt like their interactions were all very brotherly with no ambiguity including between Bei and Yi Ran but I was starting to wonder if maybe that's just me. However there clearly is some romance, although not detailed. I think Zhang Yi Mou definitely had a say in pretty much everything, including the script because it's very, very well written and fairly realistic. It's a great show overall. Thanks again for sharing.

Actually they did say they were planning a second season even back then, but from little information I could gather their schedules simply never matched and everyone had other things more urgent to do. Then the years went by lol. I hope you'll like season 2 just as much !

I came here a few days ago after seeing an avalanche of 1-star spam reviews. I came back to check, and it's even worse now. This seems to be such an astronomical failure, I don't know if that's hilarious or pathetic. This project was dead from the start anyway but it's too bad for the actors and disrespectful for the fans and the original material.

Thanks for your reply ! Ah I totally understand. That was very sad. But I thought that was surprisingly realistic (I was totally expecting the "waking up from coma at the last moment" trope - and nope) so I was satisfied with it in that sense, although it was heartbreaking.

Great review ! But I'm unsure, what character are you talking about at the end to whom they did not give a proper ending ? Personally I think Yi Ran didn't get a proper ending, that's my main criticism, the 5 last minutes are very rushed, it should have been slightly longer to give him a chance to express his character and his emotions a little bit more, and it would have been perfect.

I can feel the love you have for this drama through this awesome review. And I can relate, not for this drama but in general. Honestly, biased love is the best. You just know most people different from you would think it's bad or not that great. But you just love it nonetheless, even more at each rewatch : D.

The Police Son xD ? He has the built for action so I get it but I hope he can get more diverse roles in the future. Especially because he seems like a really good actor. He could be great as a villain as well. Unless he's cool with being typecast in police dramas lol.

I've seen people say his acting was mid. I really don't know on what kind of criteria they can say that. He was spectacular.
