Sad, the original author did not promote this drama because Xie Yiren’s relationship with Zheng Ren was removed…
Where did you see this, that he did not promote the drama and liked such a comment ? Is there a Chinese post somewhere I can read about this ? I've seen an interview where it was mentioned at the end of it that Zhen Xiong Chu Mo praised the actors and really liked Bin Bin because he was a lot like he imagined his Zheng Ren to be and he also looked like a younger version of his doctor idol in real life, so I think he at least didn't hate the show I guess.
What I love most about this drama is that Su Yun is not jealous of Zheng Ren. He admits he’s good and admires…
Exactly, that's what I noticed as well, no toxic jealousy/stupid domination play between them, only a bit of healthy rivalry sprinkled on top of true affection, understanding and respect. I guess that's what true friendships (or any type of healthy relationships really) should be. In the novel, Su Yun is an insufferable prick, it's great they edited that for the purposes of this adaption.
Wait, a movie to cover this novel ? Is the webtoon even finished yet ? A drama would have been better I think, although probably very expensive :/. But who knows. I don't even really care of this story but it's a bit surprising that they're doing this.
The script that these two actors accepted had respective BG romance line. The gay director removed it.
How do you know the drama's script contained romance and how do you know the director's gay ? It's not like there are tons of info about him out there and from the pictures I've seen of him, he has an alliance so he's supposedly married. As far as I know gay marriage isn't allowed in China so I'm guessing he's married to a woman. The original novel is a romance yes but maybe he removed the romance because he felt it wasn't necessary for the story he wanted to tell in this drama or it would have been too long or too forced. Who knows.
You nailed my thoughts. Like two male actors cannot be portrayed as friends in a drama in peace without viewers…
You're so right. I always like seeing some cute edits because I interpret it as friendship but I know others simply had something else in mind and it's so bothering. On another drama with a strong bromance I've been called a homophobe and a "moral police" in the comment section because I said it wasn't right to twist things and saying they were canonically in love when it was just their own mind and interpretation to say this was BL.
People these days mistake brotherly love for gay love and it's the first purest strongest love on earth Two not…
How I dreamt of seeing someone say this because this is 100% my thoughts and I thought I was just the only abnormal one in this ocean of romance/bl obsessed people lol. I'm not single and do have a partner but I still consider platonic brotherhood/sisterhood to be the purest from of love in a spiritual sense and different from romantic/sexual love which is why I'm kinda obsessed with "bro-sismances".
Never thought I would find a drama adapted by The Surgeon's Studio. Loved the novel. Not sure how the drama will…
Sorry your comment was long ago but how different is the novel to the drama adaptation if you've watched it ? I don't read Chinese yet so I couldn't find much info about the original work.
How much do Chinese doramas differ from Korean and Japanese ones? I have only watched Chinese films.
I watch c and k-dramas. I don't know about japanese ones. From my very personal and biased opinion, k-dramas seem to be in general of a higher quality. In terms of everything : production, writing, acting. It's easier to find an ok and enjoyable k-drama that you can watch until the end with a relatively steady quality even if not perfect than a c-drama. There are good c-dramas of course, but personally I find it harder to find and I often have more things to complain about than in k-dramas. I think it also really depends on what you actually like and what kind of stories you care about of course.
ahh seeings urs and twitter xth posts make me wish i could watch it too 😭i hope jianci really takes care of…
Why would you cry :( ? It's not like he has cancer or something bad or he's forced to do these things... He does it out of his own will for money and fame, like most mainstream artists. He wants to succeed so he pushes himself. At some point he might get burned out but what can we do ? I just hope at some point he'll realize what's actually more important :/...
Now two men can't look at eachother without adding "romance" into the picture? either it bromance of BLLet's try…
This was a month ago so it probably doesn't matter anymore, just wanna say I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said. I think the term bromance is ok, technically it means deep platonic affection, but people now cannot accept anything platonic as being valuable so everything gets distorted and every hint of affection necessarily means they want to have s*x.
But anyway. Those of us who think differently sure aren't going to win here lol. Any friendship between two males that exists in any work of fiction ever must be BL or else it's an oppressive censorship.
Great interview, thanks. As much as I'd love a season 3 where everyone is gathered together, including some of the season 1 cast like Yeong I or Seok Dae, I think they might start to be too old to play high schoolers. And it's usually better to leave on a good note than try to keep pushing and risk ruining the whole thing. But who knows, maybe they could make it work somehow if they were to decide for a 3rd part.
I'm sure its good, but I just don't support criminals.
Officially, he 'only' took lots of drugs. As far as I'm concerned, being addict to drugs is not being a criminal. I'm more worried about the rape accusations. It seemed it was dropped but you never know. Personally I think everyone deserves a new start if they truly want to change as long as they take responsibility for their actions.
