Honestly, did not want to watch this because of the synopsis, thought it was a fantasy story of sorts, glad I read the comments and gave this a shot. That synopsis need to change... Surprisingly enjoyed this series to the very end. The rating is not justified. Probably because people came for BL(romance), but got something much more complicated and deep (read the reviews, should give a better idea that this series is not purely love is in the air romance). Both MLs are super cute too. I love all the BTS clips at the end of each episode, seeing their little preparations and de-escalation for each important scene is actually pretty fun and insightful.
Great story, some scenes actually got me teared up, but needs better execution/production (or needs more budget idk lol)
watching this has me missing the main story so much I think I am going to rewatch it to sooth my soul lol
I couldn't bear to skip the main leads, I actually love both couples in the main story hahaha~ But really need a sequel for Ho Tae and Dong Hee. These 2 are just so endearing~
The ending is so heartbreaking... In the end, YiHeon still gave up on living... He may have saw how "his" life changed, but ultimately he didn't experienced it. Leaving the place that brought him so much pain is the only relieve afterall....
Really wanted a sequel/spinoff of this couple more than a prequel/ backstory. But this was still beautiful on…
There's a scene on DongHee's birthday where he sat outside HoTae's house beaten up by his dad. HoTae's mum had already once saw him got badly injured by his dad, and already knew his sexuality before this scene. This was in the main story. This is also why Hotae's mum's dialogues were all about Dong Hee finding his own happiness, because she knew how he is struggling with being accepted in his family, and also why she was worried he returned home and how she shush her son from trying to get involved. Also, from this story alone, it may look like that the 2 MLs have mutual feelings but just "lack communication". Is actually more complicated. The reason was in the mainstory where DongHee has expressed that he didn't want to be involved with Hotae because he felt so much gratitude to HoTae's mum, he thinks being in a r/s with her son is an "ungrateful" behaviour (with the stigma and Hotae being the only son and all).
Really wanted a sequel/spinoff of this couple more than a prequel/ backstory. But this was still beautiful on its own. Although I do agree that this can be a standalone or watch before the main story, unintentional love story, I feel like there's a bit of interpretation needed in here that was given in the main story. Especially for people who thinks too much or pays a lot of attention to details.
Pretty show. Everything is pretty. The songs, the cast, the filming, the dialogues(In fact some dialogues are deeper than the scene itself). Slice of life style filming. Good for a relax watch. Zero drama and angst. Everything is calm.
Many people did not like this series, because they were adopted brothers. Yeah it's kinda uncomfortable but the…
It seems like a lot people just took the labels of brothers literally. Older ML just took in a homeless kid and raise him with his kid sister. From another perspective, they could have just been childhood best buddies going through rough times together. The show never showed that they fostered a true sibling bond. Just that they cared for each other which later developed into affection. I thought the feelings progressed rather naturally. Also San Pang grew up with them and got together with the sister too. But that seems to be more acceptable than the main couple...
That whole 2 years of neglect towards Bocchan is just plain ridiculous. How is it difficult to explain that your…
Also, the email deleting explanation was ridiculous. How the dad even have access to the email account the kid created? Don't tell me is linked and sync on all devices including on the dad's. The phone was only confiscated after Bocchan returned from USA all heart broken and desolated. And that's when the dad truly knew the importance of the relationship. Emails were sent BEFORE this event. Not to mention, IF, IF the dad actually has access to the email account, and an email gets sent to it. Then both Bocchan and dad would receive the notification. How did dad just delete every single one right before Bocchan even sees the notification..... It also feels like they mixed up their own timeline base on how the dialogues goes some times. The deal with the dad was only made after Mr No.1 returned to Taiwan 2 years later. The total separation time between them was 5 years. So they were only 3 years into the deal. Some of those dialogues made it seem like the deal took place right from the beginning.
The special episode didn't even give me more information to the progress on this coupling? I just want to know what happened after the younger ML went behind the doors... I really didn't need a repeat of episode 6 of season 2 and an elaboration of the past that I was able to infer. I so so want to know how did the Doctor actually "feels" / think after that speech from young ML. Not a skip to some happy get along scenes.
That whole 2 years of neglect towards Bocchan is just plain ridiculous. How is it difficult to explain that your mum is pregnant and unwell and you will be busy for a bit over text if not calls??? Thats the most unsatisfying reveal of a misunderstanding ever. Is a struggle to rate this because the acting is so good. The core of the drama(2 years miscomm due to MR No. 1) is the worst plot of the show, all other plot points were actually fine . ugh I love the acting so much this season though.....
Also want to point out that if you watch the subs, some nuances doesn't get translate over well. Even the name…
Edison like Thomas Edison , has a Chinese translated name pronounced as Ai Di Shen. So when Ai Di (Eddie) went undercover as a student, his undercover name was Edison. A little play on his name. I thought it was cute. Not important to the story, but a cute bit. And the ending part with the Fan Gramps visiting the cake shop and the cake was named (translated) Callous strawberry cake LOL. Is a play on the Chinese phrase that literally means where Sounds like in Chinese. The cake name just meant strawberry heart and lungs(Strawberry everything).
Kid is a whole green forest, love the coupling and characters, but the asian in me can NOT get over the fact that…
Also want to point out that if you watch the subs, some nuances doesn't get translate over well. Even the name is translated literally for AiDi, which is not technically wrong. But that makes the play on his name later on overlooked lol.
Kid is a whole green forest, love the coupling and characters, but the asian in me can NOT get over the fact that he couldn't be a doctor. And that no blood was spilled from the Fan family for causing the kid to missed his opportunity to be in the medical profession lol. The only time I screamed in anger was when I realized he couldn't be a doctor. Hahaha~
The plot line for the bullied kid kept triggering Jolin's MeiGuiShaoNian song in my head as its own personal OST . Inaccurate foreshadowing, but definitely contributed to how much tears I shed.
u won't believe this but this drama is my safe space..i watch this when i'm feeling down or low and it never fails…
I believe, but I can't fathom it. Just imagining watching the first episode, and my heart would ache a little. I am weak hahahha~ Every episode of this I was tearing up~
Firstly, Taiwan really know its way into my heart, I just can't control my pounding heart throughout the show hahahha. I have put on hold Taiwan drama for a longgggg while due to personal reasons, but BL cravings got me back in. First Taiwan BL and one of my first and only ever idol(s) since I was a child actually plays a small role?? What are the odds? Feel like Taiwan's favourite child right now~ HAHAH Secondly, I am so glad, this is mainly fluff. I really just need fluffy BL plots right now. And the cinematography is so on point. So good that sometimes, it overshadows the plot and brings me out of the story to wonder at how the scene was being filmed. Thirdly, unsure if there's only one source of eng subbed for this. But the subs doesn't do justice to the dialogues and narrations. Watching this, it makes me wonder if I have ever missed out the poetic nuances in KBLs with bad subs lol. Not only did some poetic stuff not come through, but most of the double meanings, slangs, delayed play on words did not came through to the subs too.

Is like a reward for enduring the iffy plot.
