I think The scene with antibiotics in Go Go Squid is product placement. I have seen the same product in other dramas, sometimes it’s not even in directly with the story going on...
Anyway for me it is difficult to watch most medical dramas because there are too many stuff far from reality. And mostly because the hospital directors and doctors seem on war (forgetting all about the wellbeing of patients).
Thanks for this article, I had a good laugh reading it :)

I love all the characters but from the last couples of episode Ik Jun has become my favorite (and U Ju is just tooooo cute <3). Also how he didn't back down and confessed his feeling for Song Hwa was just daebak! Jo Jung Suk is a GREAT actor, I've never been deceived with him! I really love this drama.

I completely agree with you!! This one is also my top 1 family drama. I really loved this drama and from time to time I rewatch some episodes, It is really well written, well played and heartwarming. I loved all the characters and laughed a lot. There is not one single boring episode. Also, this drama was originally 50 episodes but it was so good that it got extended by 4 episodes. I don't think it happen often with this type of drama :)

WTF is that ending scene coming from? she hated his gut and thought he was annoying and now they're all cozy & hugging. If this was real life I might say that now she knows that he's filthy rich, he's all of a sudden not that annoying ...
Am I the only one wondering why the crazy uncle is killing doppelganger in Tae Eul world? He raising an army or what? I think the murder case she's on right now is 100% linked with him. On the previous episode he gave a phone to that pregnant woman, and now JTE is working on an audio file from a phone she found... Anyway I hope we will have answers soon.

Title Doctor John
I agree with you that the sister character is just to make our eyes roll and we already got our plates full with…
The prosecutor's stand on euthanasia is understandable. but what he is doing is stalking CYH and doing everything in his power to ruin him or the people who want to get close to him. That part of his character for me is ALL crazy.

I think the topic between The lead girl’s family is a very touchy topic to talk about. Because if we aren’t…
I agree with you that the sister character is just to make our eyes roll and we already got our plates full with euthanasia and that psycho prosecutor. But if we put ourselves in her shoes, I think we might react just the same. She is not seeing her father case as a doctor should but rather as a daughter. I'm not really familiar with how hospitals works, but I think in a case such as this one, it's not advised for a doctor to treat a close family member because they might not be detached enough to make the right decision when needed. If she was not a doctor her reaction could have been better understood or seen as a girl who wants to keep hope and fight for her dad. But she's only a 3rd year med student and not strong enough to make the difference between her feelings as a daughter and as a doctor. We'll see how her character evolves. People say KSY is emotional, but I'll rather say it's the sister that is. Maybe that's what the writers want to show us, that even doctors have feelings and sometimes act and make decisions reflecting those feelings. CYH for example was jailed precisely because he felt too much for his patient and wanted to put an end to his pain. Our Society in general wants doctors to treat their patients without considering their personal feelings, to be neutral and try not to put those feelings in their work. But feelings are precisely what makes all of us flawed and human...

I really like your review, I felt somewhat the same as you depending on my moods. As for the drama you haven't seen yet, I highly recommend Story of Yanxi Palace. I know 60+ dramas are long... but that one is absolutely refreshing and I was amazed how the characters could put into action their evil (or not) deeds. The female lead also TOTALLY kicks ass!! my only advice though is not to start it on a week day... I started to watch it at first because I was bored then I found myself going to work sleep deprived because I had to know what happened in the next episode :)

I am wondering what will happen in the two last episodes. I totally loved ep 13&14 (I confess i watched ep 13 at least five times since... you know what I mean LOL) but i feel like it’s dragging, maybe the plot was revealed too early. The drama could have ended at ep 13. The parents and the brother didn’t have enough screen time in the last episode and it was just a filler. It feels like the writers will just spin around with no real plot for the remaining episodes... I hope we get something better next week for the finale. Meanwhile i’m going to rewatch ep 13 to quench my thirst and wait. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Maybe I'm the only one to think this way, but I don'f feel chemistry between the lead couple. Honestly, I remember…
I think the two dramas are really different, in Fight My Way, the two leads were childhood friends and even if they were bickering all the time they still somewhat showed they cared about each other through difficult times.
In this drama PSJ and PMY have had a strictly work relationship for 9 years. The male and female leads here at first hide their feelings/ doesn’t know how to express it. For me both of them are really sweet and we are witnessing how their relationship is growing from coworkers to lovers without being too fast nor too slow.

If you wonder if you should watch this drama i will only say one thing; wait for all the episodes to be out before starting... I am going crazy checking all the chinese websites to check if there are new ep out (and I don't read/speak chinese). I'm hooked! anyway i am desperate here, anyone knows when the next episode will be broadcasted? PLEASE!!

I was really disappointed with ep 12, too much filler scenes and not enough progress in the plot. I feel like…
I know to some extend there is some truth in there, but they use it too much in the dramas these days, it's like there is nothing good at all. Money is the only real language out there... sadly it is the same everywhere.

I was really angry with the scenarist on how Gyeong Shim was abducted in ep 12; I mean you were almost abducted in the streets once, you got beaten to a pulp, then had to spend 3 weeks in the hospital and then again almost kidnapped in the hospital and when you go out you roam the streets late at night alone??? Bong Soon did tell you that the first guy that was caught was not the real kidnapper... Plus, do you think a simple bracelet will protect you? even if you get to alert the police, it will be too late when they get there. I know everyone manage their fears differently but when you survive a robbery for some time you don't walk down the streets late at night listening to music, but her... she was almost abducted TWICE and she still think roaming late at night is a good idea!!! And the police officers?? just hand in your resignation letters already! OK your boss is a moron but you know who is the kidnapper but you don't even know how to discreetly follow the suspect! I mean come on! what did you learn in police academy? And the criminal who can put cameras in a police station without being noticed? seriously? in a city as big as Seoul? Next time I travel to Korea I will go myself to Dobong-dong Dobong-gu police station and check it out!

I was really disappointed with ep 12, too much filler scenes and not enough progress in the plot. I feel like the writers are out of inspiration and the plot is becoming too obvious. And what makes me angry with this drama (and most of dramas) is that the civil servants can't do their job because of their bosses. Most of the "themes dramas" such as Doctors or even Signal are like this. The police officers can't do their job because the chief don't allow them to do their job correctly, in Hospitals, doctors are too proud and let theirs patients die because they don't want other doctors to treat them, etc... It doesn't give a good image of Korean public services and I hope that in real life the conflicts in work places are not like that. Anyway I didn't want to spoil but I was so frustrated, i'll leave another comment with what really got on my nerves on ep 12.

I really like your review of this drama, it was one of the first drama I saw and really not the kind I usually like because of all the raw emotions in there... I watched this in 2010 but to this day The Snow Queen is one of the best Korean drama I've watched. If you haven't watched this I also recommend it!! But be careful, you might want to make a trip to Lapland after kkkkk

I completely agree with you on this!!!! (y) (y) Makjang are a big NO for me and if it's not a happy ending I just skip it. At first I also didn't like dropping drama but sometimes it's just too boring. "Flower boy ramyun shop" i tried to finish it at least 4 times because my friend told me I have to watch it... now i just feel cheated and like I wasted my time.

I am starting to be disappointed in this drama, the only reason I am still watching it is because of the actors who are doing a great job. Seriously, this drama (and other medical dramas) makes you think that if you are sick you SHOULD NOT go to korean hospitals! You will surely die, What is it with all those fights between doctors? I don't even see where the writer is trying to go. One and only one guy was abducted in NK with his father due to a scheme between doctors and the prime minister, his mother was sent to a psychiatric ward, he fell in love with a girl who turns out to be a spy and she was supposedly shot dead before him... He found his way back to SK and oh miracle! he found his supposedly dead girlfriend in the hospital where his father used to work and from where the the director wants to fire him. And we should not forget the prime minister and NK spies who want him dead... What is this? a comedy? melodrama? please choose one and stick with it! when trying too many of them you will ruin the drama!!!!!
