My observation only: an actress who in real life give the audience an image of a sassy, smart, ambitious boss tends to have more antis in China than an actress looking pure, sweet, innocent and harmless. Other examples are Zhang Ziyi and Vivian Zhao. They have a lot of fans but they also have unbelievable amount of antis.
If you ever watch any reality shows or interviews of Yangmi, you will find she is extremely confident, highly intelligent (no kidding, she can memorize 12 digit numbers in seconds), of very high EQ ( She is aware of her charm and not afraid to use it). For antis, she is arrogent, calculating and flirty. She has a way more successful career than her husband. For antis which means she is not a good wife and a good mother. And a lot more things...
Another important reason is that she has been in the top popular actresses list for over ten years. Too many people want to bring her down to step up. As a business holder she also has enough enemies. Therefore among those antis, there are a large number of paid antis...

I am not her fan for her acting but i admire her as a strong business woman. It is not easy to stand against so many antis. Maybe that’s the reason that she can always convey a stong woman character on screen better than an innocent sweet girl character. She has a special aura, which is really convincing when she plays a character like Baiqian.

I don’t understand the fandom culture now. So much hatred spitting out in the comments section of douban, antis against fans, fans of other actors or actresses against the actors/actresses in this drama, barely see much talking about the drama itself. Even if such topic starts, it will soon turn into another battleground. I stopped checking douban for reviews. Too much manipulation and negative influence there.

Yang mi has such a huge amount of anti-fans there that they just give out 1/5 rating to no matter what drama she played with toxic comments. I am not her fan but i feel sorry for her and also the rest of the staffs who worked so hard for the drama. There are more trailers about the costums, architecture, set designs. Really impressive. And my favorite trailer is the one about all the female staffs in the production team, very inspiring and touching. Check the youtube official channel for this drama, you will find all these trailers.

I have not read the original book. Although I understand the necessity of the political plots in terms of pushing the story further, yes you are right, I did not see much of the involvement of Fuyao in it, at least not actively. This stage is now for Wuji and the PM even the doctor, Fuyao is running around without much purpose and I did not feel her eagerness to break the seals and lead the story. I wish in the next eps she could be more active and gain more political intelligence.

I wonder if the script writers purposely give more stories to the male lead because, you know, afterall there are more female audience for this drama. Just like the story of the drama Ten miles of peach blossoms, the character depth of Baiqian was much less explored than Yehua. I like this drama so far, but i still want to say, show me more development of Fuyao please!

and the villain, the PM, stellar performance too. So far the female lead is still only a trouble maker. It is ok for the character in the early stage but i do wish she gets more mature and independent as the story goes further. Afterall the drama is called ‘Legend of Fuyao’ not ‘Legend of the men who helped Fuyao’.

Liu Yijun, he is my reason to watch this drama. He has a special talent of portraying a villain who is not so one dimensional like how many drama villains are portrayed, i.e. Pei Yuan here. Yes, Marquis Xie in Nirvana in Fire rocks! Another NIF actor will show up later, acting as the male lead’s father. He is also an amazing actor. Totally looking forward to it!

Saw people complaining about slow beginning. I was like: what? slow? 1st ep the male lead shows up, 2nd ep the male lead and female lead flirts with each other already. how fast do they want? :-D

The male lead only shows up at ep9 and the meeting of the male lead and the female lead is at ep10. So basically you have not even reached the beginning yet. :-D How about give a try at least till ep13 where the fun starts. It is a 56 eps long drama which has a complicated background story and takes sometime to build the drama world up. Another way to check if it is your cup of tea is to watch directly ep26 and ep30. The two iconic episodes, one is heartbreaking and the other is of full joy. :-)

The official video website of this drama in China has VIP system. Paid VIPs are always 4 eps ahead of normal user and tv audience. Maplestage aired the vip eps without permission.

I think it is not the baby eating the liver. The drama did not mention how the sick baby Helan survived after the visit to the Princess Zhao yan. Maybe Lord Qingmu did sth, Nobody knew. The liver method is a cure to recover Helan’s night vision only. For me the liver taking is more a ritual thing than actually a medicine. The liver hat to come from a human girl born from a special time and date and who loves Helan. The liver is like a medium to transfer energy. As long as Helan has the energy to keep his night vision, Pipi will always die before 25. The way to retrieve the energy from Helan is to kill him, which is suggested by the Princess. But i think there is definitely another way out. For example, Xiao Ju’s father hat quite some screen time, talking about energy. Maybe he will be the key.

As for the logic of Lord Qingmu, he planned to buy Huiyan, who was born at the special time and date and purposely raised them together to make them fall into love easily. For him, Huiyan is just an object he bought which can be used as a medicine and a tool to tame his son. How much of the liver does not matter, the girl has to killed for these two purposes.

It turns out ep24 is a bonus ep about Pipi’s parents instead of the ending. Still has to wait for the last ep next week.... End of ep23, Helan lost his power and can not hold his human form, turns back to a fox. Best part this week is ep21. People who has watched it know what i mean. hehehehe....

It is a web drama from Tencent Video, a video site from China. They have VIP membership. For those with VIP membership, they can watch more episodes per week than normal membership and international audience. That's why Tencent VIPs can finish the drama on 6th but viki has to wait till 20th.
