I don't understand why Song Mo's father hates his son.
Saw sb say, that the novel mentioned he stood out to become the Duke among his brothers because of the his marriage with the Duke Ding Guo Family. However he never thought of it grateful, instead he took it as a humiliation. And jealousy over the favor of the Emporor to the Jiang Family. He hates everything to do with the Jiang Family, including this son, who looks like a second Duke Ding Guo.
hey guys, quick question,I've subscribe from the youku app just to watch this drama and I've downloaded the episodes…
Normally, they are saved in their own coded file format, which can only be watched in the Youku App. More like cached file for offline watching. Not really saved as mp4 or other general video files, which can be easily ripped off and re-distributed. You can delete the cache through your account page of the app, which normally holds your info about viewing history, favorites, etc. I have no experience with youku app but tencent. Very similar way though, I guess. Or a more brutal way, delete data cache of the whole Youku app.
Watched about 7-8 episodes thus far. Gotta say I prefer the 2nd couple better. The FL always says stuff like "oh…
After you finish thd later episodes, especially about the background story of ML, you will realize only this type of girl can pull him out of that depressive situation. The further story will unfold the character of FL. Under her cover of cuteness, maybe a bit childishness, there is a strong personality, very self driven, academically, careerweise and relationship (both romance and friendship) weise. Very lovable character.
There are quite some videos and vlogs on youtube about the Heng Dian Studio. I would recommend the Heng Dian serie from AvenueX. She listed out most of the popular cdramas while visiting the shooting set. Very interesting seria.
To be precise, not every costume drama. :-) There are quite a few more such studios in China, just they are in a much smaller scale and normally only focus on sets of one historical era. I've visited one in Shanghai, which replicates the Shanghai in the republican era. Ang Lee shot the movie Lust, Caution there. It is smaller than the Heng Dian Studio but it still took me over 5 hours to walk through all the sets.
She or He is trying to luring us to the whole drama after drama then dump all the gabbages heard from internet. more like spreading hate towards WXY. Just ignore it.
Eh. I'm Chinese and I like AvenueX, in spite of my disagreeing with her all the time. She brings Chinese culture…
Same here. I was her subscriber from the time of Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. Her serials of related clarification videos about the cultural background for Xian Xia drama attracted me.
Anyway, I do agree that she is kind of losing her passion about reviewing cdrama right now. I'm a bit tired of her constant complaining about how bad cdramas are in the last two years. Honestly speaking, I did not find it that bad. Yes, there is no more all-around-good dramas like NIF but it never lacks of dramas which work well at certain parts and offer high entertaining value. I found year 2024 till now actually has worked better than year 2023 in the cdrama land. Quite some reasonablely interesting dramas on a wider range of topics than last year are there. Her channel is emitting some kind of negative energy now, which I totally dislike. I just hope she could re-pick up her energy or maybe make a break? She was great in making those explainational videos about drama related knowledges. I hope she could do more such videos again.
I mainly watch her channel for all the information videos and culture vidoes. As for the drama review, it is surely…
Have to agree on the part of the voice of WXY, very sexy and dominating. :-P It's so hard to believe he was 21 year old at the time of shooting. Way better voice quality and line delivery than a lot of senior actors. He is on my list of to-watch-out actors now.
I mainly watch her channel for all the information videos and culture vidoes. As for the drama review, it is surely…
That's why I won't take her review as a reference for choosing dramas to watch. I need to watch all kinds of clips, spoilers, etc. Normally visual feeling is the first for me. :-D But I do check out some dramas, which are not in the radar of expected hit dramas and recommended from her.
About Avenuex. First of all, I apologize to everyone that I'ill certainly displease. So... You need to be very…
I mainly watch her channel for all the information videos and culture vidoes. As for the drama review, it is surely subjective. I agree with her critics a lot of times but also disagree a lot of times. So I don't find anything offensive. It's interesting to check out others opinion.
As for the professionaism, from what I gathered in her videos especially her live streams. She used to work in the industry before she went to Canada. If I'm not wrong she graduated with some degree in directing and worked in the famous production company Rosat(荣信达), which was also a famous agency hosting artists like Chen Kun, Zhou Xun, Yang Yang etc. She somehow mentioned shortly working for the drama Dream of the Red Chamber (2010) as assisant in the production. I think this kind of experience makes her more on the technical side of the review instead of as a simple watcher. I kind of hope she could review a drama more simple, more from feeling. Actually her early drama reviews were nicer. She could still cheer for some cheap web dramas with cute stories. If those dramas were reliesed now, they would surely get bashed a lot from her. :-D
I have no comments for her bias about actors and actresses. It is her opinion anyway. There are tons of bias videos online, so it does not bother me that much. But I don't think she just copies opinions from weibo or any other chinese social medias. She is way more random. During the airing of A Journey to Love, nearly all chinese reviewers about cdrama complained about how ugly Liu Yu Ning was. She was one of the very few directly saying it's bullshit. I appreciated it very much.
Can someone explain to me the significance of beating the drum?
Seeking higher authority for justice. But generally it was not encouraged hence there was penalty for doing it. Sth like 20 or 30 beats. Every dynasty had different rules but they would all put the drum hitter to the edge of death. If he or she survived, proceed to the high court. If at the high court, he failed again, the penalty was way heavier. In the drama world, this cruelty is normally put it away. Hitting drum was very much the last staw for those commoners to seek justice. The ending was win or death, hardly any inbetweens.
I tried to find the similar clip on other platform but only bilibil has the most detailed version. sorry. :-( If you use the internet browser on PC, it should be not of a problem though.
Wow, saw more clips about the drunk birthday event. No wonder people are crazy about the chemistry of WXY and WJY. They surely deeply care about each other. So they were stuck in the garage with some crazy fans. WXY was the last, even obviously drunk, still back blocking WJY from the fans behind. Then the head touching of these two. He kind of made up of his mind, next moment he ran away to the other direction and led away most crazy fans there. I wonder how long he took this detour. The clip following WJY shows how worried she was waiting anxiously for WXY in the lift lobby of the hotel. With the help of LYQ, WXY finally made to the hotel. The moment he saw WJY waiting for him, his shinny eyes. Awwwwww. WJY turned from worried to angry. And WXY puppy eyes to her. OMG, i feel i'm watching a modern drama from these two. Please let them work in another drama!!!! Please!!!
Btw, you can tell the fans of popular young actors are way more crazy than actresses. The videos about WJY was clearly shot from feet away with personal space while WXY side. Sigh..... No wonder WJY was angry. It was actually quite dangerous for WXY to do that running for distraction thing in front of these crazy fans.
I am confused. Is concubine li current king's father women?🤔
It happened in history. Concubines had no real status compairing to wives especially if they had no family background as backing or boren no royal offsprings. Their endings were either to be buried alive with the passed emporor or sent to some nunneries. Smart ones found a way out. Some became nameless women of the new emporor. The smartest managed to became the official concubines of the new emporor, even more. The one and only female emporor in chinese history was once a concubine of emporor Tang Tai Zong. She grabbed all opportunities during the time of Tang Tai Zong and after his death. She ended up from the favorite concubine of his son Tang Gao Zong to his empress and finally female emporor after his death.
An excellen screenplay derived from a book. The book is lengthy and based on the fact that the female lead is…
Yes, I like the change of keeping the body of XFF a lot. Way better than she actually died and reborned in another body. It has to be XFF herself standing in front of those who did wrong to her and making them scare to death, not in the body of somebody else. Plus you don't need to reborn to be a 'pure' girl to love and be loved again. Finally the power and charm of a married woman kills!!

A post about the cultural references of the elements in this drama. Very informative and interesting.
