Ot is mostly open ending but in the novel Zan suffered from the aftermath of the war. It turned the once sunny Zan unrecognizable. They went back to China and got married. But after 10byears, he chose to die. Ran continued going tonwar zones and died protecting a child from a bullet. In the drama, they do not show it ... it is a dreamy ending with both if them together

Compared to the novel this was a happier ending.

I think he is putting pressure upon himself. It feels like his condition is getting worse

If this dtory wants us to hate war, then it has indeed done the job. If it aimes to picture the aftermath and effects of war and hiw it shadderd souls, it again did the job.

no not yet ... but they showed their strong desire to do so. The war stoped them
