I don’t think it’ll be announced until almost the end of Part 1 but it should be a few days after if it follows a similar pattern to other dramas with 2 parts.
Writer wrote female centric novel about CSS , her growth and her family and 3 second leads as love interest (in…
Well said. It’s annoying when people come here to complain about the pace or FL’s family storyline. Like there are plenty of sugary fluffy dramas out there to watch instead if they don’t have patience. No need to come here to announce they are dropping LLTG because it’s trying to create a story with substance, which takes time.
Just saw a video posted in part 1, Leo Wu in the video said part 2 is being edited. If it is undergoing editing,…
They might just be re-editing the bows (that some people complained looked Japanese). Part 2 acquired its online distribution license a few days before Part 1 actually.
For what it's worth, I believe The Blue Whisper Part 1 finished airing on 4/1/2022, and they only announced either…
Where are you getting January from? I was talking about the airing schedule for The Blue Whisper, which similarly had 2 parts like LLTG, and Part 2 only aired 3 days after Part 1 ended (Part 1 aired from 3/17-4/1, and Part 2 aired from 4/4-4/25).
I'm just worried about how long it'll take to release the 2nd part
For what it's worth, I believe The Blue Whisper Part 1 finished airing on 4/1/2022, and they only announced either on that day or the day after that Part 2 was going to start airing immediately after on 4/4/2022, so I don't take it as a bad sign that we haven't heard about the Part 2 air date for LLTG yet, and I'm expecting it to follow a similar pattern.
This drama is based on a novel by the author of Story of Minglan, if you are looking for a drama with no substance…
You said it so well. There are so many people complaining about it being slow or too focused on FL's family, but that's how you get to know the characters, their stories, and motivations. It'll be all that more rewarding when the leads finally get together and grow together.
An out of context thing I just realised, it very rear in historical drama for having the female cast with open…
The hairstyles and clothing are all different depending on dynasty. For example during the Qing dynasty, the men all had the half shaved half braided hair look, but during other dynasties the men just had variations of full heads of long hair.
Saw that Douban rating is 7.4...If you ask me it should be more than 8. I know it will sure increase once they…
7.4 on Douban is actually quite high especially for this type of drama with young “popular” actors (also regarded by many to be idol actors). Douban reviewers are usually overly harsh imo. For example, The Long Ballad, which is very highly rated on MDL and widely regarded as a good drama, only has a 5.9 Douban rating.
I hope this dramas win a lot of award ! In terms of popularity whose is more popular a dream of splendor or this…
I think ADOS’s popularity mainly came from the popularity of the main leads, and also the fact it was Xiaolongnu and Yang Guo from 2 different adaptations of ROCH finally collaborating. We’ll have to see the final numbers to gauge which ends up being more “popular” but I do think LLTG is much better story wise. ADOS was really good for the first 20 eps but really fell apart for me in the second half, that I was just fast-forwarding to finish. I hope this doesn’t happen with LLTG since they have been pacing it really well so far, and there’s still a lot of story to tell.
Dream of Splendour is nowhere near as good as this one, but... this one has only just started airing, so let's…
Agree. LYF’s acting was actually widely considered very wooden back in the day (16 years ago) when she did the majority of her dramas. She has always been considered very beautiful but tbh she wasn’t a good actress until recently. She had improved a lot for ADOS. ZLS, on the other hand, at such a young age is already an amazing and very emotive actress.
The Douban score of LLTG started at 7.4 reviewed by 73,876 verified accounts. I know it deserves higher rating…
This is actually so high for Douban for a drama like this. I feel like they usually hate on dramas with popular young actors (see The Long Ballad) and the avg is usually below a 6.5. Very glad to see LLTG getting the recognition it deserves.
Does anyone know why LBY gets banished? I saw a trailer where he was beaten by the paddle and CSS was running…
The paddle scene is actually before he gets banished though. I believe it was a test set up by the emperor (the biggest LBY-CSS stan) to prove that CSS truly loves and cares for LBY.
Most historical romance dramas are like this - they are slow burns and viewers are rewarded for watching it till…
Seriously. The romance needs to feel earned and not just gratuitous, and I think viewers will be super satisfied once they finally get together and are mutually in love/ride-or-die. I feel like I'm not as invested in romantic relationships that form without any obstacles showing how our leads got to the point where they feel in love (a lot of telling not showing), so I'm really happy with how things are progressing so far.
I really like Zhao Lusi so much. But why does she always pick stories where the love story gets dragged forever…
Most historical romance dramas are like this - they are slow burns and viewers are rewarded for watching it till the end. I'm usually someone who likes fast-paced stories but I am enjoying the pace of LLTG because you get to know all the characters and their motivations, and see them develop and change as the story goes on. If they get together too quickly in this 56-episode long drama, then the rest of it will be draggy (kind of like what happened in ADOS).
Why do you say that ? Do you have insight to the ending?
This person might just be a troll or very pessimistic person. By all accounts if the story follows the novel (which it has so far), it’ll be a nice happy ending.
Watching the previews and seeing how things are progressing by ep 24, it seems like the romance will still be developing by the time Part 1 ends at ep 27. A lot of people thought Part 1 was going to end when CSS and LBY separate, but at that point they are already fully in love, so I feel like we definitely won't get there by ep 27. Does anyone have any theories on at which point in the story will Part 1 end on?
I never thought CSS’s mom was that bad. I think people who aren’t used to Asian parents really hated her,…
I never said she was right or that I agreed with her actions. I was simply saying I get where she’s coming from - she’s clearly misguided but sometimes it’s hard for moms like her to change her ways. I think it’s especially common with Asians parents from what I’ve seen in my personal experience.
Does anyone have any theories on at which point in the story will Part 1 end on?
