Title Life on Mars Spoiler
agreed... Na Yeong is best girl though
He wasn't ready to go back, that's why I think he's still in a coma rather than dead. As I said in my comment, he wouldn't continue dreaming if he were dead already. Of course Na Yeong is a great character, it is his view of what he wishes from a girl. It has some characteristics from his mom and ex-girlfriend. All of this is my opinion though. I also wanted him to really wake up and continue where he left off.

Title Life on Mars Spoiler
I'm so confused after that ending. Was it a dream or did he kill himself to go back in the dream? Was An Min Seok…
I think he's still dreaming... Remember him being "back" in his apartment and the TV acting up just as when he was in 1988? That was his own mind answering how 2018 is supposed to be when he wakes up. He has a negative view of things in there. Through his reasoning, his ex-girlfriend has the disposition of not staying in contact with him. when that's not true . She wouldn't have a picture of them in her car if she didn't care about him in the first place. He doesn't see that, and remember we get hints where he's an individual going through depression. Living is not seen in a happy note then, that's why he's escaping reality.
So the dream is a very long one with the journey he needs to be ready to wake up willingly. He was internally set on knowing what life would be like if he returned, he didn't like it, which lets us to believe he's not ready to return. He's a man going through depression, but he's hanging in there. It's an open ending to me. A dead person wouldn't be able to keep dreaming anyway.

Title Life on Mars Spoiler
I can't believe I finished watching this. He never woke up. And there's a lot to say about this production. It felt like an open ending where he's still in a coma, at least to me. It works if they wish for more seasons where he remains unconscious until he's finally willing to accept things after thinking along in his journey and be back. He was always somewhat responsive and with the possibility to come back to his reality, but he chose not to do it and try to tune it out. I get that he was depressed, being an outcast , with a failed relationship, a dark past and all. He was so set in going back at the beginning, that he even ended up dreaming he was back in 2018. Being in his apartment and the TV screen acting up was a dead give away to me. So we were basically inside of the mind of a depressed man. That's why some chain of thoughts were distorted, that was his view of things. Before the accident he must have checked all those cold cases indeed. As he's so meticulous and goes through all that information his mind was able to be that detailed as we saw. It was all a big dream of the reality he wished to have. He was working on the field, far from Seoul and he was able to build strong connections with co-workers and even if they were different he was happy to be with them, also with a promising future relationship with the only female around. With this. his failed relationship with his ex was gone as well.
I think that he "woke up" as if his mind were trying to let him know what it would be like to be back and how it would feel like. He had what he wanted even then. He solved a case, and was promoted to captain, he got to see his mom and aunt, he was able to talk to his ex. But what he experienced was not something he felt he wanted, he even deflated a bit when his ex told him about not being in contact as he was trying to. His mind even made the doctor trying to reestablish him into the bad man. That's how deep his unwillingness to be back to reality is.
That's why I said, that we were in the mind of a depressed man. A human being willing to live has all the willpower to do so. His unwillingness was masked. He wished to switch from reality instead of accepting it. Pretty dark if you ask me. He was trying to deal with the issues he could as he dreamt, but viewers end up thinking if he just let himself die or if he'll keep in a coma for a very long time. I'm in the bunch of the prolonged coma and the hope he finds his way back to the land of the living after accepting that life is tough and that he has the strength to go through with it. Even when he goes back it will be bittersweet as his made up team mates are truly dead. He never met them, what he experiences is only based on information he read or what his mind can work on. I'll keep hoping then, he needs to catch the really bad guys out there and have a chance to continue where he left off. And who knows, with all this thinking, he'll be able to build what he was looking for and be happy after all this self discovery. This would definitely need more seasons to get there. Yeah, I prefer this reasoning instead of going on a sad note that he's dead. It doesn't work for me, as he wouldn't continue or be able to dream at all. Once you're dead, that's the end and your mind can't keep up building what's not real.
I watched this after Falling for Innocence/ Beating Again, I guess I'm off to Smile, you.

Title Best Lover
I have to say it is totally weird to watch it on Netflix lol. I mean, it is in Korean and Mandarin. That's as weird as watching a sitcom in Spanish and ... I don't know Italian or Portuguese at the same time. I guess it is better than watching a dubbed version when you're already used to the actors' original voices. Too bad the main couple's love story lost its focus with side stories.

I'm glad not to be the only one liking it. I almost didn't continue because of the comments and reviews. Good thing I gave it a chance.

I had no intention of watching this, but then I discovered Onew/Lee Jin Ki as part of the cast and gave it a chance.…
After watching DOTS I've read so many reactions and not only related to Lee Jin Ki's performance... And many people seem to forget that productions are the result of team work that involves not only the actor, but also the script, writer, director, etc... Actors follow a script and they give their input as well when they're working... Many complained of the female lead as a frustrating woman who turned down the male lead far too many times.
Well that's the character build up the team did for her in DOTS and it made sense, no person in their right mind would make that type of decision in a heartbeat. She had a point on being afraid to pursue a relationship with someone who was not able to actually tell her what was going on in his life.
There were more complaints here and there, and that includes character Chi Hoon. Well, that's the character build up the team did for DOTS.
I see that his character development fell short and didn't show more involvement as with the other characters present. This is an issue with the script. I felt that he was disconnected from his family and it came out as odd and I'm talking about Chi Hoon's mother and his lady. The son never appears either. What was consistent is the fact that he's a first year resident in a very unfamiliar, hostile and shocking environment. So of course he was bound to have a mental breakdown as he sported a bubbly personality that was only able to experience the calamity of a city hospital. Also, some scenes for him included in DOTS were not well elaborated. You give credit where it is due and he did a good job as a rookie actor. I just wanted to shoot the writer for making Chi Hoon such a poor character when he could have been able to be more involved in the plot.
Song Joong Ki was a great leading man even if he wasn't the first choice for the role. Believe or not besides Yoo Shi Jin my favourite characters were Song Sang Hyeon and Lee Chi Hoon...The last two because they're relatable.
As for the story, the last chapters were rushed. You just felt how they sped things up after keeping the pace for so many chapters. For a moment I thought it was going to be a longer drama. I liked the ending despite being diferent and not cònvincing with reality(research team do your job better next time to help actors deliver).

Maybe you should try watching Hwarang, Somehow 18 or Canola and see if he has improved in your eyes :)
I sincerely recommend Somehow 18. It's short

I started watching it and I totally like Ki Bum and Gong Myung so far. I find Jin Seon hateful...I can't give an opinion on Ha Na yet. So far the main leads do not catch my attention. I'll watch this for the ones who will be the students.

On I'm Not a Robot Jan 19, 2018
With this robot plot I was reminded of Otaru an his three special female robot friends in Saber Marionette J and Saber Marionette J to X. But those were indeed robots with special circuits called virgin circuits that needed to mature in order to bring back women to life in a land where only men lived through cloning...Otaru had to teach each of them with life experience human emotions and blah blah. I was reminded how all three of them always fought over his undivided attention and wanted to praised for doing a good job, it was very cute. ^^
