I didn't announce anything. But if I were to drop a drama, I just do. Especially after only one episode.

I don't write a post telling people that I'm going to drop it. Because I'm not so self-absorbed that I think my decision to watch or not watch matters to anyone but myself.

If I don't like a drama. I'd offer my two cents worth of constructive criticism. I don't make it about myself.

The fact that it seems to escape you why people responded so negatively to your post suggests your complete lack of self-
awareness. You don't seem to have an iota of an idea how you come across.

Why the rating just 7.8? I think it should be above 8
It was 8.2 several hours ago.

MDL ratings randomly fluctuate like Trump's tariffs.

Just curious if you read Wei Yu's works in their original Chinese? Or translation?
Ok. The reason I was wondering is because I'm learning Chinese, so I just wanted to note the availability of this novel for future reference, since I'll be seeing its dramatic adaptation.

Do you know who translated the version your Chinese coworker gave you? Unless you mean your coworker was the translator.

Thanks.

It was 8.2 a couple of hours ago. Since then, around fifty MDL users dropped it to 7.8.

MDL ratings aren't exactly Swiss Bank accounts. (Shameless pandering on my part, admittedly!)

Looks like we've got some bunch of jobless losers intentionally downrating this drama.
8.2 from 196 MDLers.
7.8 from 247 MDLers.

So basically fifty or so MDL "reviewers" dropped a drama 0.4 points in a matter of hours. That's quite an accomplishment.

Unfortunately, I doubt any of them could even drop 0.4 pounds in a few hours.

*This is a figurative homage to your self-proclaimed "profession."

The meteor ☄️ lore is fine and not unusual. There was a drama with Victoria that featured alien foxes 🦊…
Ok, I put this under a spoiler tag because I don't want to detract from the discussion about the drama.

I appreciate your conscientiousness, but I want to adress a couple of things you
said.

1) "Secular" is not the same as "atheist." Secular means taking a neutral stance on religions & between religions. Atheist means taking a proactive stance against religion. Or more accurately, the existence
of religious entities. For example, the US is also a secular government.

2) China does indeed monitor religious activity but not because it is religious. It monitors all activities that pose national security risks, including those that happen to be religious. It is not unlike what the FBI did to southern Black churches during the Civil Rights Era. Or what they did to Muslim mosques on the eastern seaboard post 9/11.

China is a secular government and does not have an official state-sponsored religion. But religion is NOT banned in China.

Please is Dilraba Dilmurat a Chinese name?
Yes. DD is a Chinese ethnic minority (Uyghur). China has 56 officially- recognized ethnic groups, with the Han ethnic group being the large majority. By contrast, South Korea is ethnically homogeneous.

Oh, I'm watching CXX's new drama "Love on Torquoise Island" right now.

Here his character doesn't even have a flag. At least not yet.

Because CXX was a child actor, his family has always represented him. He's likely comfortable with the situation.…
Yes. The CXX drama released today that I'm watching right now suggests that they know what they're doing.

In neither drama is he who he seems to be on the surface. Initially. That's what makes his (portrayal of) characters so interesting to see develop.

And CXX really does have that "IT" factor. What you call "magnetism." Love him or hate him, but you can't take your eyes off him.

I won't spoil it for you and reveal the true color of his flag. Just see the first couple of episodes & decide for yourself.

If you think this is a C-drama version of a K-drama version of Hollywood, this isn't it. Nor will you ever see such a thing. The Chinese will never compromise their cultural integrity for the sake of popular entertainment.
